So much fun to find tasty morsels on a local walk! Thanks for sharing the very important identification tips and for persevering through your temporary loss of voice.

These are some great little hidden gems, quite literally since they're often buried under the dirt! A good friend of mine has a tree near her apartment where I've found these on two occasions, last time I made a delicious mushroom stew and as I type this I'm having an omelette with some I found on my most recent visit. I think they have a richer, heartier flavour than the button mushrooms you get at the store, and the best part is they're completely FREE. You can't argue with free food! 🍄🍽😋

These are gems and yes, they have a very rich flavour!! With today's food prices no one can complain when there is free food!!!

I am so glad you like my vids! Learning about mushrooms takes time. If you are somewhat a newbie you may like my book that was released a few months ago.... Beginner's Guide to Safely Foraging for Wild Mushrooms: Identifying and Collecting Mushrooms Sustainably with Confidence (Karen Stephenson) Amazon, Chapters, Barnes and Noble is where my publisher sells them!

Thanks for this! I'm really keen to encourage mushrooms to grow in my backyard. 🍄 I tried looking up the amonita(?) mushroom so I could see the egg-shaped base that you cautioned us about, but no luck. Is that in your book? 🍄

There are several different amanita mushrooms...two are in my mushroom book! It is early in the season for them now - typically they come out early summer.

My daughter found tree truffles under our pecan tree, info she found says they are not edible.which is sad because there are so many there.
