I got the distance correct however i used the cosine rule (cos A=) to find the same angle and got 71 degrees. (a) why am i wrong (b) how can I tell which method to use so I don't get it wrong in the exam? Many thanks please reply

      cos (theta) = [ 19 + 5^2 - 3^2 ] / [ 2 (root (19) ) 5 ] gives theta = 36.586... You need to check again.

Does the Cosine Rule not state that a(squared) = b(squared) + c (squared) - 2bc CosA, so why did you use the opposite angle ?

    • @forest3064

AC is the line from point a to point c, not the angle, it confused me at first
