    Crazy how ahead of its time these were. These came out almost 15 years ago and Pioneer just put out its first controller with a motorizes spinning platter this year. And all the functionality of what's out there now already existed in these Technics decks.

      Indeed they look great, that's why I bought them, and they're pretty rare nowadays. And yeah, they have their drawbacks - can't read mp3 cds above 192kbps, have digital distorsions when scratching with master tempo on, but if you're willing to just listen or beatmatch plain audio cds, they're awesome :)

    • @djJulianM
      @djJulianM  3 года назад

      @@danielwhetstone5632 nope, can't read mp3 above 192kbps nor wav files, but they do best with audio cds, which are basically wav in the form of cda. Back in the day when these came out, djing was only on vinyl or audio cd :)

    Im thinking about getting one of DZ1200 for my studio to lay some scratch elements on top of my MPC tracks... How Do you format and Add Files to SD cards? Will anyone work?

    • @djJulianM
      @djJulianM  Год назад +2

      Keep in mind that you need low capacity SD card. I don't remember the maximum supported right now, but I know I had some 64 or 128mb SD cards for these players. And those are hard to find nowadays. Also, these players only read 192kbps mp3s - no wav, no 320. I didn't care about this as much, since I only used audio cds. So that's the way I recommend for you to scratch on them, using audio cd burned from a wav file

    • @othelo989
      @othelo989 Год назад +1

      @@djJulianM Thanks for the info.
      They are pretty sexy but alot of hoops to jump through just do some cuts. I used to have some real 1200's back in the day. I hear these give the same feel because they have the same motor.
      But writing to locked SD cards and Burning whole CDs (which Imagine are becoming harder to find and more expensive by the day) just to record some cut elements geez.
      Also Looking a Numark HDX it has a 12 inch platter and 80GB HD built in...or Maybe Ill just get a Modern Numark Mixstream pro as it is completely standalone. The search continues.

    What about the buttons on top u only played w the reverse what does all the other buttons do

    • @djJulianM
      @djJulianM  2 года назад

      The ones on the top left are 4 Sample Pads and 4 Cue Pads. You can record samples of few seconds long and play them along with the cd or the mp3 that is playing. And also can set 4 different cue points.
      And the ones in the top right are for selecting SD Card folders, and navigate through the few embedded effects. Never used the top buttons whatsoever.
      I made this demo video when I sold the players a few years ago, to show the buyer that they work. Was never intended as a youtube video, but I eventually uploaded it, hoping to be useful for someone.
