this has been really helpful. me and my brother are planning on tearing down and rebulding a 1985 quadrunner. your videos have helped me get a little bit of knowledge that will be helpful for tearing it down.
Love it. Thanks for sending the message and for watching. Have you subscribed? Let us now if you need parts for the rebuild: ebay.com/str/midnebraskamotorsports
When freeing a siezed piston and rings, soak the rings with liquid penitrent as long as possible then, use a pc of wood to drive the piston, then you will be able to reuse your parts and save money. Use wood to drive parts apart. Also another tip for folks is to use a pc of cardboard with a drawing to put your bolts in to keep the lengths in the correct hole. Take your time and enjoy your work. Good luck.
Can you please explain how to change the timing chain? Do you have to to a full case split or just the side cover? Your video is perfect, and you stopped right at the point to where I thought you were gonna remove the chain. My chain has a lot of slop. Do I have to change it or will the 2 tensioners take up any slack it would have? Please let me know.
Can I take the top end off to replace piston without removing the entire assembly on the quad 300? It looks exactly the same as the motor in your video. But mine has electric start.
Assembly of top end would be interesting, but my immediate need ia how to time cam. Inspection port mark and lifters on heal of cam. I have a manual but can't find any description of that in it.
Hey man, I just bought a 1987 LT250 Quad Runner. It only has 500 miles on it and runs great. The only this is, when it gets warmed up it begins to make a squealing noise. At first I thought it might be a small hole in the muffler, but now I am thinking CVT or one way joint. Any thoughts? Thanks!
You don't normally have to go that far down just to put a fresh head piston i hope not lol i may have to put a head on my dads lt2504wd it smokes only hot
You have to think you've got the cup for the pull start laying in front of you all you had to do sliding onto the end of the crank and you could have used a screwdriver and spun that engine around. 😄

Where can I find that puller you are using
So will the motor Turn if I put it in gear before disassembly?
Great Video what MM size is the flywheel puller?

When are you going to make a video of you putting it back together you said you rebelled it you only took it apart
shouldn't you of cleaned the motor off first and drained the oil? Your pretty rough lol did it ever run again? wheres part 2?
I totally agree. This video should be titled "back yard butcher shows you what not to do"!!
Where is part two?
Where is part two. Where are you tossing all the bolts? How do you know where they all go on rebuild? Usually some are different lengths.
@@elkskiutah8204 still no part 2. Its like leaving a child in a pool of snakes. Dude, post part 2!
There is no part 2 because the engine never ran again.
I'd hate to be that customer that gets his motor banged on the piston prob broke as u hammered on it
