So many places with more time to check out. Belfast. Bru Na Boinne on the way to Belfast for more ancient history. Game of Thrones tours. Giant's Causeway. Golf courses. Galway. West coast, including cliffs like Slieve League County Donegal. Hiking. Derry. I did not go southern Ireland but hear Cork and Blarney Castle would be cool. On my list. I did rent a car and this was very beneficial.
We will be there for 3 weeks and we are renting a car as well. I’m especially looking forward to our time in Kilkenny, County Cork, Malin Head (fingers crossed we see the northern lights) and Northern Ireland. And afternoon tea at Ashford Castle!
Don’t try to see entire island in 17 days, especially driving. You’ll end up with a nervous breakdown or divorce. The best, in my opinion is Kilkenny, Killarney, dingle , ring of Kerry gallway and salt hill. At least 2 or 3 days in each of those. Dublin…1 full day…then get out. Forget Waterford and Wexford. Not worth the drive.

@@BrianandCarrie You should go to a gaelic football or hurling match they are more popular nthan soccer or rugby not by very much in fair ness but they are huge aswell and native to ireland whereas rugby and socecer are international sports good sports but you get more of a sense of irishness at gaelic football and hurling. They are not played anywhere else hence rugby and soccer have national teams for people to get behind
@@BrianandCarrie We often call football soccer to distinguish it from gaelic football which dublin is very good at winning 9 national championships since 2011 which is one of the reasons as a country fella as i said above i am not a fan of dublin.
So happy you ❤ 🇮🇪. And you didn't do too bad with the $. I did a 15 day self drive road trip 10 years ago and it was $6000cad. With Air and 🚗 rental. Doing a self drive was amazing got lost many times which made the trip so much more interesting. Landed, got a car and drove, no itinerary just winged it. I hope you get back again to explore some more off the beaten track places.
Same! We did that the first time, too. They used to have these bnb vouchers before airbnb and you’d just stop along the drive at the houses with a ☘️ on them and give them your voucher. I loved meeting all the locals.
That sounds like a wonderful way to see the area, I love it! Some of our best memories come from getting lost, missing a train or getting caught in a rain storm 😂
I was in Dublin, Galway and did the cliffs of Moher last fall. I loved it and want to return and stay longer in the future! I've been doing it wrong my entire life. I always followed the rules: Beer on whiskey, mighty risky. Whiskey on beer, never fear. I managed just fine, anyway!
Such a comforting video to watch. Headed to Dublin next week first time ever. I’m a middle-aged man married and you all look like you’re pretty close to that. Good to hear just rational, calm advice from people about my age. You are so realistic. You’re helping me a lot as I prepare for this trip.
We just returned from Ireland. We did nothing in Dublin instead we based out of Killarney. We were there for 7days and B&B, air, car, food, fuel spent ~1750/person. We did not see this as an expense trip. We had a wonderful time. Can’t wait to go again.
I am from Ireland and lived and worked in Dublin for 15 years. Left there 35 years ago but have been back several times. Have looked at many videos of visitor’s trips to Ireland. This video is by far the best and most informative and realistic I have ever seen on the subject. I hope your trip included a visit to Kilmainham gaol Well done both of you. I look forward to checking out your other videos.🇮🇪☘️👍
Thank you so much!! That means a lot coming from someone who has spent so much time there. We did not make it to Kilmainham but hope to make it back to Ireland soon. 😀
Always happy to hear your perspective on places I haven't been. This was a very practical and reproducible itinerary for those of us who like to travel to Europe. Well done!
Glad you enjoyed your time in Dublin. Galway is a terrific stepping stone for day trips to the Arran Islands and Connemara. I live in Donegal along the Wild Atlantic Way. It is a beautiful place to visit, and you can hop on a plane from Dublin. My favourite city is Belfast. More affordable than Dublin with lots to see and do. I hope you make it back to these shores soon.
Thank you for the tips! We will be back someday soon. We only had a week to explore and, as you know, that isn't nearly long enough! Thank you for watching!! ❤️😊🍀
Guys it’s great to hear that you had a good time here. If you’re stopping off again I would recommend that you take the DART train from Dublin City to Bray and (on a good day) walk the cliffs overlooking the Irish Sea, to Greystones in County Wicklow. Both towns are well worth a visit and the views on the walk are second to none. Additionally, Brian if you get there around beer o’clock; you won’t be disappointed with the choices available to you for a quick beer. Another beautiful town in north county Dublin well worth a day trip is Skerries. Beautiful beaches (one sand and one stone) a lovely harbour and fantastic coffee shops, pubs and restaurants. Honestly you won’t be disappointed. Finally, I’d recommend getting a DART northbound to Sutton and walking onto the beach and all the way up to Howth Village. Another small harbour town with incredible views, walks and places to eat and drink. Best of luck on the rest of your journey. I wish you well.
I know you just had a few days. But, you missed SO much of what makes Ireland such a wonderful place to visit. We’ve been many times to Ireland and the British Isles and I can tell you that it never gets old. I would not advise taking a bus tour because you miss out on so and are part of the tourist trap. Rent a car and it is so easy to get around (even driving on the opposite side of the road…it’s an easy adaptation). Galway is beautiful and a great getaway if you aren’t part of the tourist mob. The Irish countryside and the local pubs are next level good and they ALL have live music and dance…not just the touristy ones in Dublin. Castles galore and the Irish coastline is breathtaking as are the islands just off the coast (Aran Islands and Achal Island are some of our favorites). We’ve made quite a few friends there through the years and will be back again in June of this year.
Taking a tour is the easiest and most economical way to see Ireland in a short amount of time. Not to mention how stress-free it is. We had a wonderful time and plan to go back soon. Thank you for watching and commenting!! 😀 Cheers!!🍻
Watching so many videos of Ireland, my fiance is from Ireland but my visa got denied when I had wanted to visit him. These videos bring me some sort of happiness even if I couldn't see Ireland myself.
Loved the video! It reminded me of all the things I saw when I visited Ireland. I appreciate you sharing all the mobility options (trams, escalators, etc… ) I broke my foot a couple of months ago so I’m looking at more of that for my trip to Europe this summer! Thanks again for a great video!
We just returned from Ireland. It was spectacular. We spent four days in Galway where we stayed at The Flannery Hotel. Took day trips to the Cliffs of Moher and The Connemara National Park. Both day trips were amazing. We also spent three days in Dublin, where we did day trips to Howth Cliffs and the Dublin Botanical Gardens which are spectacular. We also did the usual sites in Dublin. Except for 1 restaurant, most of the food was disappointing, even at highly-rated restaurants. In Dublin, we stayed at The Trinity City Hotel and I highly recommend it. Next time car trip!
Great video!!! Thank you, as always, for sharing! Ducking into a pub and grabbing a few pints while listening to traditional music or watching a national sport is one of my favorite agendas while on holiday. Well done!
Ireland is totally underrated! I took the train and the bus to get to the Cliffs of Moher and stayed in the village of Doolin for a few days, which is known for it pubs with live music and various bands from all over Europe go to play there. Nothing like sitting in a pub by a fireplace with a plate of Irish Stew, Soda Bread and a pint of Guinness of a rainy March day. Speaking of which, the Guinness tour was great! When I went, they actually explained and taught you how to pour a proper Guinness. In the end, they even gave you a certificate, which was pretty cool.. Thanks for the walk down memory lane)
A nice free activity is to see the colourful Georgian doors on Marrion Square. Its a short walk from Grafton Street. Also a nice place St. Stephans Green. The sculpture of James Joice is lovely to see. A daytrip to see the passage tombs in amazing. If you head to Cashel or Kilkenny you would be blown away. Ring of Kerry is breath taking. Inch Beach is a wonder. So much to see on such a tiny Island.
I got engaged in Dublin almost 25 years ago! Love Ireland and have been there multiple times. I would say 5 days is ok for just Dublin but you really need to rent a car and get out there at stay with locals along the way west and south. I’ve had so many wonderful experiences waking up in someone’s home to an Irish breakfast, walking their land or local town for lunch or pub, even horseback riding. You just don’t get same experience on a tour bus. We’ve stopped randomly to see ruins, cemeteries, abbey’s, pubs, sheep, live music, dolphins jumping along the coast, etc. Have explored Killarney, Cork, Dingle Peninsula, Ring of Kerry/ Cliffs of Moher, Blarney, Achille Island, Aran Island, Galway, Dublin, Waterford, Limerick, etc. There’s so much to see in Ireland!!
That would be an amazing experience, Sara! You are correct, there is so much to see. The tour bus was a perfect solution for us in the short amount of time that we had. We are looking forward to returning soon and seeing all that we have missed. Thank you for watching and sharing your experiences!! ❤
I’ve been to Ireland multiple times from Nebraska. Love it. If u guys get a chance to slow travel there, you’d love renting a car and just exploring the whole island. So many great small towns, amazing pubs, and awesome ppl. Don’t let Galway sour your the trip, it’s an amazing island to explore
2 hours in Galway was never going to be enough for both city and county. I enjoyed watching this and all your other videos. I'm from Dublin, but I actually love the vibe (nighttime) and scenery (daytime) of Galway. You got a lot in, in a short amount of time👏👏
We would have preferred staying longer to really take in Galway, see Cork and other places in Ireland. We will be back someday soon! Thank you for watching! Cheers!!🍻
@@BrianandCarrie For Galway, 2 hours was not enough and the long bus journey probably didn't help. So for traditional Irish music we would recommend Tígh Chóili or The Crane Bar, both of these bars will have people walk in off the street with their instruments and join in the music with the musicians. You can’t book tables in these establishments but I would strongly recommend them for an authentic Gaelic culture experience. The other bars I would recommend would be Taaffes or Tigh Neachtain these would be my recommendation for the best pints of Guinness in Ireland. The Quays bar is very popular with tourists and they have late night music. There are other bars that would be more modernist Bierhaus for European beers & Universal for some bites and cocktails. All of these bars are with walking distance of each other on the Main Streets of Galway. For restaurants it depends what you are in the mood for, the Main Street for food is Quay street. It has everything from McDonaghs fish and chips to casual dining at Martines Wine bar, Freddy’s. Galway is also world renowned for its restaurants Rubin on the docks, Kai on sea road, Cava Bodega, Oscars, Ard Bia has lovely views of the river all of these restaurants use locally sourced ingredients. And Kai which has won the first in the world awarded Michelin Green Star (no waste kitchen). For Nature walks within the city I would recommend walking the famous “long walk”, followed by the costal walk to Salthill on the promenade. There is a few nice restaurants and bars in Salthill as well, perfect for a sunny or wet day if you can brave the weather. There are plenty of walks outside the city centre, if you are driving the small sea side town of Spiddeal is known for its views. The village of Roundstone has epic scenery I recommend the oysters in Dowds pub and the Ballynahinch castle in Recess. Connemara is the heart of County Galway with spectacular views one of the best known tourist spots would be Kylemoreabbey and the Connemara National Park. The Aran on Islands and Clifden, Galway has so much to offer the best seafood and don't skip Mayo - Achill, Westport, Croagh Patrick, Louisburgh, Clare Island.
Enjoyed this video so much! Visited Dublin and other locales in Ireland 20 years ago, and this makes me want to go back. The scenery! The music! The Guinness!
Awesome video! If you get back, head to Belfast! It’s a really neat city with its history, market and Titanic Museum. It’s more affordable than Dublin too.
Great video. Brought back some good memories. Ireland was our first stop on our retirement adventures in which we spent 3 weeks. Rented a car and went around the entire country starting and ending in Dublin.
It was great to see old Dublin town! My ex husband grew up near Dublin, I lived there for 5 mths and worked in a night club off Grafton St and had to go through Phoenix park most days. I took our 4 children there a few years ago, we hired a van for 2 weeks and travelled the country meeting family. Definitely going back soon. Next time you go there try the old fashioned Bed and breakfast , they were great! Thanks for sharing, and although the price wasn't cheap, you chose the cheapest time to go. And the great thing about that is there is still lots to do and see without the crowds and high costs. Happy travels. ❤Zeljka
What a great comprehensive video. You guys really lay it out to make these adventures doable. That was a good deal on that day trip. The food I've seen on videos always looks mouthwatering. I was so happy to hear about nonalcoholic Guinness since I can no longer have alcohol. Also, I love that cycling fish 😅. Dublin looks like a grand time and worth every penny. I'd love to see it.Thank you for sharing. Happy Trails!
In Galway I think that you missed spending an evening or spending a night there. I remember the wife and I just going from pub to pub stopping when we heard live music being played. It was such a fun time. Maybe one of our favorites of our trip.
Great video…. Really useful and practical advice. Beautiful video too. Haven’t been to Dublin in about 20 years and I was not keen at the time but your video actually made me want to go back
Im Irish hope you enjoyed your holiday, I would say Dublin a day or 2 is fine but the real Ireland is outside Dublin, and summer time is the best time to explore Ireland.
Love Dublin. Have been three times. We always stop there (airport) on the way to Scotland. You’ve reminded us we should stay a few days before traveling on!
I can't believe that you were there exactly when my husband and I were! We were there Mar 6-11 and used Dublin as a stop over to our next destination. Your recommendations are spot on for what to see and do. We stayed at The Fleet Hotel which included breakfast (790 Euro) which we felt was reasonable. We can't say that we loved the food at the pubs but we enjoyed the experience. Took the Dart to Bray one day and to Howth the other. Thanks for sharing what you saw and I look forward to your next video.
Too bad we didn't run into you! We need to go back soon to experience Cork and Belfast. We had a great time but really wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you for watching and safe travels! Cheers!!🍻
What a great video! I love Ireland❤ I’ve been there three times because once just isn’t enough. It’s just such fun and the people are so friendly. Thanks so much for taking me back. Now I want to go 😊 Happy St. Patrick’s Day ☘️
Dublin is fantastic! The hop on/hop off bus is the only way to get around for St. James Gate, Jameson and the zoo. Trinity College was a walk away from our hotel. We didn't rent a car until we were headed to the Galway area (Cong), Killarney, Cork and Kilkenny. Dublin was our final destination to drop off the car. We made the mistake of booking a hotel in Temple Bar. Great area to spend time but too noisy to spend a night.
We can understand the noise of the Temple Bar. We were across the river and the location was perfect! We will be returning to Ireland and plan on Killarney, Cork, and Belfast. Thank you for watching, Peter!! Cheers!!🍻
Thank you. This video is so informative. I am from Chicago and have decided to go visit next week March 24-29. The all inclusive pass is on sale for $79 so im definitely going to take advantage of that.
Good video guys. Can I make a couple of points 1/ Phoenix Park is out of bounds for drones ... It has President's Home and Garda Headquarters (Police) 2/ Transport for Ireland App (TFI) you can download on your phone and it's integrated with all the transport options apart from Taxis. With that you can plan your way around not only Dublin but the whole country. 3/ A Leapcard which you can buy in any newsagents shop is cheaper than paying cash on buses etc. It can be used on all transport services except taxis. Most taxis now take credit cards.
Looks like so much fun! We got the museum pass in Paris too - well worth it to make quick visits to incredible places we’d never have paid the individual entry price.
We enjoyed your video of home, we are from (a) Dublin and ( b) Cork. Watched ye from Vila Real de Santo Antonio, where you both have visited also and we got great tips from your Portugal videos! Glad that you were lucky with the weather, at least not too much rain! We have been escaping that here! Glad that you both have had a good experience of Ireland, our tourist board would be delighted with ye! Looking forward to more videos of Europe! Safe travels.
Excellent video. We fly in one night, have 1 day the next day before flying back to Toronto. We are flying round trip Dublin because of the value. Under $1 000 for 2 adults return….very great price.
If you ever come back check out northern Ireland....2 hour bus from Dublin to Belfast. The people in the north are so friendly and welcoming. Derry and the north coast is worth a visit aswell 👍
Thanks for the guide. Dublin is defintely on my to do list! Also thank you for mentioning places with disability access and what that entails. This helps a lot because my wife uses a wheelchair but we both want to visit the guinness museum and Jamesons. Great video again.
It is something that we think about often as we travel. With a parent unable to climb stairs and move about without difficulty we believe that it is important to point out. Thank you for watching and commenting! Cheers!!🍻
Great video. We spent time there too and loved it, driving the country and ending up in Dublin before moving on to the Balkans and Italy. Keep them coming. Roger
You guys lucked out with weather. I went for a week in August, statistically the sunniest month of the year and it rained buckets everyday, including the cliffs of Moore / Galway tour day! For people who like sweets, get a scoop of Murphy ice cream in Galway (also available in Dublin), it’s one of the creamiest ice cream I’ve ever had.
We did luck out on the weather. We didn't have proper footwear for rain so very happy about that. We had a great time and look forward to our return trip!! Thank you for watching!! Cheers!!🍻
Always so many thoughts watching your videos. Sounded like a great trip! Like I mentioned on FB, I got to Cork. Speaking of driving through the countryside, I thought I would be clever on the trip over and instead of flying into Gatwick from Texas and racing down to Heathrow for a connection to Cork, I thought I'd fly into Shannon on Aer Lingus and take the bus across Ireland to Cork. Great idea, right? I got into Shannon at 6am on a Sunday, the bus to Cork was at 9am, and there is pretty much nothing open in the Shannon airport or, I imagine, anywhere else in Shannon, at that time. Then five minutes out of Shannon the bus was enveloped in very thick fog, which stuck around the entire drive to Cork. I did get to at least stop in Limerick, though we didn't get off the bus. I did get to watch a little of the Irish Football finals between County Kerry and County Cork at a restaurant/bar on the Ring of Kerry tour. Kind of US football meets rugby with a touch of basketball thrown in. I'd go back to see Dublin an the Cliffs of Mohr any time. Great video! (I always heard it was "beer after whiskey, mighty risky; whiskey after beer, nothing to fear." Funny how important that preposition is. 😀).
Oh goodness, not a great start to your trip, hope the rest went better. Yes, it is VERY important the order you put those drinks in...if you want the next day to run smoothly ☺. Thanks so much for watching - Cheers!!
Great video! On our bucket list! For the GoCity - we're not interested in distilleries or beer tours- since we don't drink, but Love the green spaces, zoo, history, museums, churches, tours castles - & would love to drive the coast South through Wexford & take the ferry across from Rosslare Harbour across to Wales.
That sounds like an amazing trip! There is plenty to see and do in Dublin without doing the distilleries or the brewery. The brewery does have non-alcoholic options. Thank you for watching and commenting!! Safe travels! Cheers!!🍻
Top 'o the Morn! And what a treat to be in March in Ireland. I have been dying to go there all my life. Thanks for showing us around and Happy Saint Patty's Day!! ☘👏🙏🍺
So happy you enjoyed it - we were so happy we had the opportunity to check this bucket list location off our list. Happy St. Patrick's Day to you as well 🍀
Don't know if you are here or coming but Top O' Morn and St pattys day are things you would be best advised not to say because you will get the look from people .Its saint paddys day and nobody ever said or says top of the morning Hope you enjoy or enjoyed your stay .
I’m surprised you didn’t like Galway; I always think of it as the one Irish town/city which most lives up to the American stereotype of an Irish town 😃 Maybe spend some more time on the West coast next time you head there. Also, don’t dismiss Northern Ireland; Derry, Belfast and the giants causeway would make a great 7 day itinerary
We wish we would have had more time to see some of the smaller towns, as well as the area up north - that is typically more our style. Hopefully when we make it back ☺
@@BrianandCarrie Galway is a real irish city , its probably the only city in ireland where you have a good chance of hearing the irish language(gaelic). The music and dancing there is just from outside the city limits whereas dublin not that there is not a genuine folk scene in dublin there is,but a lot of it is put on for tourists.
Hi Brian and Carrie, I'd already been to Ireland a decade ago (for 2 weeks; my tour group went almost everywhere except Counties Cork and Kerry). In my personal experience, I felt that 4 days in Dublin was enough - 1 day to sleep off the jet lag, 2nd day for Trinity College + Book of Kells + Guinness Storehouse. Day 3 was a 'Free Day' and half of the group used it to go to Jameson Distillery, the other half went out somewhere near Temple Bar IIRC. Day 4 we had a day trip to County Wicklow. Then Day 5 was another free day before we were heading elsewhere in the country. We saw the Cliffs of Moher too, and overnighted in Galway (which wasn't a bad location, but it's definitely only a 1-to-2 night stay IMO). I've been wanting to go back again and explore it a litte differently the next time around, though. Oh! I know you mentioned I think the Storehouse has non-alcoholic options, but what if a traveler is sober and doesn't want to see the Storehouse or the Distilleries? Are there any good non-alcoholic consumption related activities aside from what you've already covered? You've given me an idea though - I don't know what final destination I want to fly to out of Dublin (where did you guys go? Sorry in advance if you've covered this in a newer video already and I haven't seen yet!), but I think if I were to go back I'd do 4-5 days and not stay in Dublin the whole time and use that time to book train/bus trips to other cities, and then go to wherever my true final destination is after that. Sort of using Dublin as a "home base" while 'city hopping', as it were.
We really loved Dublin, but they're read plenty more in Ireland we just didn't have time to see. There were plenty of sites to see in Dublin that weren't alcohol related beyond what we mentioned I'm sure, just takes a bit of searching to find. Enjoy any future travel planning 😊
Great video once again with quality content, including budget. It's worth every cent as you have indicated! You'll be reminded by many of what you missed in Dublin as well as in and around Ireland. So very much to see. Remember "Beer before liquor, never sicker. Liquor before beer, you're in the clear". I stayed back in May 2019 at the Skylon Hotel as a recommendation. A little further out but walkable into the city centre. I didn't do the whiskey tours but did do Guiness. Guiness tastes better the closer you are to Dublin, which was my experience. The factory itself didn't show the brewing process and you didn't see the factory floor, unlike whiskey. The view at top of bar at Guiness was excellent. Book of Kell's especially the library at Trinity College was excellent although recently I saw pics with the book volumes being removed at library. Kilmainham Gaol, rather than churches was where I spent time. Each night with live music at a pub with beers was excellent, I stayed away from Temple Bar to another pub down the street. So many places to venture from Dublin, including Belfast. I also visited Giant's Causeway and Slieve League for cliffs that was simply unbelievable! I would go back to Ireland and Dublin in a heartbeat. "Man, Brian seems to really like his fish and chips!!" LOL Funny! Cheers both!!
We do need to go back to experience all that we missed. Six days simply isn't enough time. Belfast, Cork and the small towns on the west coast are something that we want to experience sooner than later. Thank you for always supporting us, Robert!!
Honestly that's not bad at all, my wife n I spent a week in the French Quarter in New Orleans and it was around 1400... So heck yeah another 400 for Dublin count us in
Absolutely loved Galway. Dublin was nice but didn’t hold a candle to Galway or Cork. Guinness beef stew and seafood chowder are 2 dishes I cannot wait to try again. Headed back next April but will drive and see so many extra places
We were recently in Ireland, enjoyed very much. Interestingly, the mayor of Galway is visiting Seattle this weekend since sister cities and for St. Pats celebration. Btw, go Huskies!
No need to rent a car with the public transportation system they have. If you are comfortable driving on the opposite side of the road then renting a car does give you some freedom. We just don't want the cost and added stress that will come with it. Thank you for watching and commenting!! Cheers!!🍻
I wouldn't attempt to drive in dublin unless you are leaving it and have no other choice, they are buses ,trams ,trains.Outside dublin a rental is advisable to get to the less touristy areas because the public transport is very dublin centric.
We've been to Dublin 3 times, and there's no way I would attempt to drive in the city. We always either take the shuttle to the airport and rent there, or have Dublin as our last stop & erop the car off at the airport before going into town.
My best day in Ireland was leaving Dublin for other locations. Enjoyed the slow travel there, but not Dublin. Other parts of the island were great,-especially county Antrim. Killarney is also a place to avoid. If you’re from N. America, the don’t be expected to be overwhelmed by cliffs and “causeways.” Pubs in small towns are the best thing on the island.
We enjoyed our time in Dublin but do wish that we had more time to explore. Especially the small towns and the local pubs. Thank you for watching and commenting. Cheers!
The National Leprechaun Museum in Jarvis section, across from the Lua stop is a good place to visit. It is NOT FREE, but the price is not bad. Fenix Park is a GREAT value, not just for the zoo. Saint Steven's Green is a great little park with lots of history sites about the struggle for independence. Counting the bullet holes at the GPO (General Post Office) is always a good Irish thing to do.
Loved your video on Dublin! Just in time for St Pats Day!!! Thanks for the great insights...By the way it's "Beer then Whiskey, mighty Risky; Whiskey then Beer, never Fear!" 😄
Thank you for this video. My husband and I travel for a month from the end of April, and we and end our trip in Dublin (May 20-27). You've included so much great information in the video. One question: Where is the sports bar that you spoke of in the video?
You're very welcome ☺, hope you have a wonderful trip this Spring! The sports bar we went to was called the wool shed, a very cool place to watch a match.
It reminds me of our first trip to Ireland in 2004. We got a real deal then; Airfare, 6 nights in BNB's and a car for $600 pp. You can't find a deal like that anymore. We have done Belfast and Cork on cruise stops, but we need to go back,
Hi! Planning to go in a of couple years for my dream trip! I'm coming back to this video again for inspiration! I do wonder though: -How long was your day trip and did you have to do separate accommodations or did you make it back to the city the same day? Thank you!
It was a long day for sure, but you do get dropped back off in the city center. The day was about 10 hrs. from start to finish. Thank you for watching!! Cheers!!🍻
I was loving your channel, having watched around fifteen or twenty of your videos over the last couple of days. Just as I was about to hit the subscribe button, you went and made the joke about, " . . .left you wanting moor." See, dad jokes I can handle. But c'mon man! 🙂 Yeah, I subscribed anyway. P.S. Lived in Bellevue for over a decade so I know your home base very well! Wife and I are retiring in Bulgaria and then jumping around every three months or so. (She holds dual Bulgarian/U.S. Citizenship so it makes it a little easier for us.)
when you comeback go to a GAA match if you can.GAA is the body that runs our indigenous sports of gaelic football and hurling unique to ireland. They have the fourth largest stadium in europe croke park 82300 which is full house every year for both Gaelic football and hurling. Not that soccer and rugby are not big they are but they are international sports you can see them in a number of countries whereas Gaelic football and hurling are unique to ireland and there is a field in every village, town and city, like american football in texas.
@@BrianandCarrie Your tour guide should have told you this he was right to point you towards the rugby match as sports events against our old enemy are always spicy affairs though unfortunately we lost but we won the championship after beating scotland but they are other sports beside rugby and socce he should have mentioned unique to ireland its the equivalent of a japanese guide not mentioning sumo and a thai guide not mentioning muay thai and telling you to go to a basketball instead or an american guide not mentioning american sports and telling you to go to an MLS game instead.
My wife and I have been to Ireland 8 times. Good synopsis of Dublin, folks. I've yet to visit the Guinness Experience, however. I'd rather be in Bowe's trading chats with locals over my Guinness. 🤣 New subscriber here. Sláinte!
Hi! Agree totally, always better to be at a small local pub, maybe listening to some good music over a Guinness 🍻. Thanks so much for watching and following along.
Going in Ireland for 17 days in September. We are renting a car and touring the entire Ireland. Can’t wait!
That sounds amazing - and by car is the perfect way to see the area! Cheers

@@BrianandCarrie We often call football soccer to distinguish it from gaelic football which dublin is very good at winning 9 national championships since 2011 which is one of the reasons as a country fella as i said above i am not a fan of dublin.
Great to watch on St. Patrick’s Day weekend! ☘️
Hope you enjoyed it - Cheers!! 🍀
That sounds so cool, what a fun way to meet locals and see the area ♥
I was in Dublin, Galway and did the cliffs of Moher last fall. I loved it and want to return and stay longer in the future!
I've been doing it wrong my entire life. I always followed the rules: Beer on whiskey, mighty risky. Whiskey on beer, never fear. I managed just fine, anyway!
HA! Beer before liquor never sicker! 😂 Thank you for watching!!
Cheers!!🍻
Such a comforting video to watch. Headed to Dublin next week first time ever. I’m a middle-aged man married and you all look like you’re pretty close to that. Good to hear just rational, calm advice from people about my age. You are so realistic. You’re helping me a lot as I prepare for this trip.
That is so wonderful to hear - we are happy you found our video helpful ☺. Have a great time in Ireland - it's beautiful. Cheers!!
We went to Ireland for 14 days in March 2023 and LOVED the Go Pass for Dublin!! Great value!!!
We just returned from Ireland. We did nothing in Dublin instead we based out of Killarney. We were there for 7days and B&B, air, car, food, fuel spent ~1750/person. We did not see this as an expense trip. We had a wonderful time. Can’t wait to go again.
Happy you had a wonderful time. It's a beautiful country. Cheers!!
Well done!
Thank you, David! 😀
as an Irish person, Temple bar should be well avoided for anyone visiting Dublin, much better and cheaper pubs around the city centre
Going for New Years 2025. Gonna be proposing to my gf of 8 years. Excited to visit. Hopefully the weather's ok in December/January.
That's so exciting!! Great place to propose, congratulations!!! 😀
Will certainly be cold perhaps some snow best of luck bro🥳
We will be there, too!💜🎶
Guys it’s great to hear that you had a good time here.
Thank you so much for all the wonderful recommendations. We do plan to make it back and will look into these areas. Cheers!!
You’re welcome. Sometimes the best things are free.
Def, 100% agree
Cheers!!🍻
Dublin is a living, breathing, beautiful historical town. It's only touristy if you choose it to be..
Watching so many videos of Ireland, my fiance is from Ireland but my visa got denied when I had wanted to visit him. These videos bring me some sort of happiness even if I couldn't see Ireland myself.
Thank you!! ❤
So happy to hear you enjoyed it and found the information helpful ☺. Sorry about your foot, hope it's healing well.
Well done!
Thank you!!
We want to go back now! Six days isn't enough time to experience everything that we wanted to. Thank you for watching!!
Cheers!!🍻
A nice free activity is to see the colourful Georgian doors on Marrion Square. Its a short walk from Grafton Street. Also a nice place St. Stephans Green. The sculpture of James Joice is lovely to see. A daytrip to see the passage tombs in amazing. If you head to Cashel or Kilkenny you would be blown away. Ring of Kerry is breath taking. Inch Beach is a wonder. So much to see on such a tiny Island.
We look forward to coming back!! Thank you for the tips!!!
So happy to have found travel content creators in my age group! Great channel! 👏🏻
So happy you found us as well - Cheers!
Me too! So good to see people close to middle age who I can relate to on these reviews.
We would love to spend a month there exploring. Maybe in the future... Right now, a short stay was about all we could afford 😉
YAY! Back on the road 🙂
Yes, so happy to be back on the road and having the opportunity to start off in a bucket list destination for us.
So much to love there, we can't wait to see more as well. Cheers!!
Very helpful video as my husband and I are going in 2 weeks. Thanks y’all!
Thank you for watching, Brianna! You two have a lot to look forward to!! Have fun and safe travels!!
Cheers!!🍻
Awesome video! If you get back, head to Belfast! It’s a really neat city with its history, market and Titanic Museum. It’s more affordable than Dublin too.
We will be back someday soon!! Thank you for watching!! ❤
Greetings from Dublin Guys. Well done on a great video!!
Thank you so much!! We had a great time and can't wait to get back.
Cheers!!🍻
Your videos are always wonderful! I will definitely follow your Dublin touring tips! Many thanks ❤
Thank you, Lydia! ❤
Great video. Brought back some good memories. Ireland was our first stop on our retirement adventures in which we spent 3 weeks. Rented a car and went around the entire country starting and ending in Dublin.
We would have loved to have three weeks! We are now looking forward to going back!! Safe travels you two!!
Cheers!!🍻
❤Zeljka
Thank you, Zeljka. We had a great time and hope to return soon to see all that we missed. Thanks again for watching and commenting! ❤
So happy you enjoyed it ♥. Yes, although expensive, we felt it was totally worth it.
In Galway I think that you missed spending an evening or spending a night there. I remember the wife and I just going from pub to pub stopping when we heard live music being played. It was such a fun time. Maybe one of our favorites of our trip.
Love your videos especially this one since its about our capital city! Glad you enjoyed it!🇮🇪
We loved it and look forward to coming back soon!
OMG! This is one of my faves that you guys have covered. THE PUBS, THE PUBS, THE PUBS! On my bucket list BIG time! Soon! Thank you!
Thank you for watching! This was one of our faves as well!! 😁
Great video…. Really useful and practical advice. Beautiful video too. Haven’t been to Dublin in about 20 years and I was not keen at the time but your video actually made me want to go back
We already want to go back. There is so much more to see and do in Ireland that we didn't have time for. Thank you for watching, Joanney. ❤
Awesome!! They just keep getting better and better!! Keep up the great work~
Thank you, Sheila! ❤
Im Irish hope you enjoyed your holiday, I would say Dublin a day or 2 is fine but the real Ireland is outside Dublin, and summer time is the best time to explore Ireland.
We had a great time and hope to get back and do it proper next time!!
I’ve been to Ireland once and absolutely want to return great vid and safe travels!
Thank you!!! We hope to return soon!
Love Dublin. Have been three times. We always stop there (airport) on the way to Scotland. You’ve reminded us we should stay a few days before traveling on!
Yes, such a wonderful stop over point, if even for a few days ☺
The absolute best part.... Irish Pub on just about every corner 😉🍺🍻
100% agree!
Thanks so much guys for bringing such good intel! You two nail it!
Every.
Single.
Time!
We still wanna meet ya. ❤.
Thanks guys!! Wed love to meet up someday!! 😊
Now I want to go 😊
Happy St. Patrick’s Day ☘️
Thank you, Mary! We will be returning soon! Six days isn't enough time!!!!
Cheers!!🍻
@@BrianandCarrie Our first hotel in Dublin was on O'Connell (3 nights) which was ideal for sightseeing on foot.
Planning a trip to Dublin in March of 25. Thanks for the insightful video! I’ve added some spots to my list now
Thak you for watching!! ❤
Thank you. This video is so informative. I am from Chicago and have decided to go visit next week March 24-29. The all inclusive pass is on sale for $79 so im definitely going to take advantage of that.
It is worth the price for sure!! Enjoy your time in Ireland and safe travels!!
😀
Good video guys. Can I make a couple of points
1/ Phoenix Park is out of bounds for drones ... It has President's Home and Garda Headquarters (Police)
2/ Transport for Ireland App (TFI) you can download on your phone and it's integrated with all the transport options apart from Taxis. With that you can plan your way around not only Dublin but the whole country.
3/ A Leapcard which you can buy in any newsagents shop is cheaper than paying cash on buses etc. It can be used on all transport services except taxis. Most taxis now take credit cards.
Great tips, thank you so much for sharing 😊
Looks like so much fun! We got the museum pass in Paris too - well worth it to make quick visits to incredible places we’d never have paid the individual entry price.
We need to do it more often, when it makes sense. We just have a tendency to decide not to do many things when we see the price.
Thank you, Patricia! We had a great time and plan on returning soon!! ❤
Excellent video. We fly in one night, have 1 day the next day before flying back to Toronto. We are flying round trip Dublin because of the value. Under $1 000 for 2 adults return….very great price.
That is a great price! One day is enough time to hit a few pubs and a couple pints of Guinness!! 😁
If you ever come back check out northern Ireland....2 hour bus from Dublin to Belfast. The people in the north are so friendly and welcoming.
Derry and the north coast is worth a visit aswell 👍
Great to know, thank you so much for the suggestion 😊
Great video as always
More destinations and costs 😊
Cheers
Thanks so much - happy you enjoyed it ☺
Thanks for the guide.
Roger
Thank you for watching, Roger! Safe travels. 😀
Cheers!!🍻
Great video, very informative, enjoy your time there 🌺
So happy you enjoyed it ☺. Cheers!!
Thanks so much, guys, for this video! Im going in June 2024 and you gave me info I didnt know about the city pass especially!
Thank you, Suzanne! Have fun and safe travels!
Cheers!!🍻
Spending 3 full days in Dublin in September, thanks for your video!
You'll have a great time!! Safe travels!! 🍀
Cheers!!🍻
I LOVED THIS! Another destination moved up my list because of you guys! LOL! 🍀😁
So happy you enjoyed it ☺. It's a must-visit for sure! Cheers
Awesome video and comments. I have been putting off my trip to dublin. I am so nervous. But ready to go so bad!
Thank you so much for watching!! ❤️
I’m surprised you didn’t like Galway; I always think of it as the one Irish town/city which most lives up to the American stereotype of an Irish town 😃
Maybe spend some more time on the West coast next time you head there.
Thanks for this video! Very informative. Great tips❤
What a great vlog. We are heading there in 2 weeks so this was super helpful. Thanks
That's awesome, Leeanne! Have a great trip and safe travels!!
Cheers!!🍻
Hi Brian and Carrie,
I'd already been to Ireland a decade ago (for 2 weeks; my tour group went almost everywhere except Counties Cork and Kerry).
Very cool. We are currently in Scotland visiting Perth. But want to take a trip to Ireland. So great info!
Thank you, John! Safe travels!
Loved your video very helpful! My girlfriend and I are going in September can’t wait!
You two will have a great time!! Thank you for watching and safe travels!
Cheers!!🍻
Great video overview and some really helpful recommendations. Thank you! 🙂
Thank you for watching, John!!
Honestly that's not bad at all, my wife n I spent a week in the French Quarter in New Orleans and it was around 1400... So heck yeah another 400 for Dublin count us in
Dublin is on my list so I’ve loved your video
Some amazing advice thank you

Thank you so much for watching 😊
Great vlog! We'll be spending this summer in the UK Ireland Scotland 👍 good info for us!
We are looking forward to doing a trip similar very soon. Thank you for watching and safe travels!!
You didn’t finish your story an Irishman walked into a bar😊. Your video of the countryside reminded me of the quiet man movie.
It is an amazing country!! We will be back soon. Six days isn't enough time to see it all. Thank you for watching and commenting! 😀
Great video thanks team. Man that really is expensive! Good to know. 😮
Thank you for watching, Andrea! We appreciate all of your support!! ❤
Great video… can’t wait to see where you land next❤
Thank you, Diana! We are excited to be back on the road!
Cheers!!🍻
Absolutely loved Galway. Dublin was nice but didn’t hold a candle to Galway or Cork.
Guinness beef stew and seafood chowder are 2 dishes I cannot wait to try again. Headed back next April but will drive and see so many extra places
We were recently in Ireland, enjoyed very much. Interestingly, the mayor of Galway is visiting Seattle this weekend since sister cities and for St. Pats celebration. Btw, go Huskies!
That's so interesting ☺. It's such a beautiful country, we hope to make it back. Go Huskies!!
Beautiful!
Thanks so much for watching!
Brilliant timing-heading there next month!
Perfect, hope you find the information helpful. Cheers!!
Excellent video. Didn’t realize you could do Dublin without having to rent a car. Thanks for all the info.
Thank you for the tips, Donovan. We will be back someday soon!!
Cheers!!🍻
Loved your video on Dublin! Just in time for St Pats Day!!! Thanks for the great insights...By the way it's "Beer then Whiskey, mighty Risky; Whiskey then Beer, never Fear!" 😄
YES! Thats it!! Or even Beer before liquor never sicker! 😀
@@BrianandCarrie - LOL! I have a Scottish friend who always says: "Never mix the grain and the grape!" (in his thick Scottish Brogue!)
Love this!! 🤣
Very informative! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching 😊
Beautiful ❤️ Thank you 😊
Thanks so much for watching ☺
It reminds me of our first trip to Ireland in 2004. We got a real deal then; Airfare, 6 nights in BNB's and a car for $600 pp. You can't find a deal like that anymore. We have done Belfast and Cork on cruise stops, but we need to go back,
That is a great deal.. If only you could still find those prices 😊. On a cruise is another great way to hop into this areas for the day. Cheers!!
Hi!
Planning to go in a of couple years for my dream trip! I'm coming back to this video again for inspiration! I do wonder though:
-How long was your day trip and did you have to do separate accommodations or did you make it back to the city the same day?
Yeah, I subscribed anyway.
P.S. Lived in Bellevue for over a decade so I know your home base very well! Wife and I are retiring in Bulgaria and then jumping around every three months or so. (She holds dual Bulgarian/U.S. Citizenship so it makes it a little easier for us.)
Haha... His dad jokes, I don't know sometimes 🤣🤣.
We hope to make it to Bulgaria soon, we've heard wonderful things.
Great video - thanks.
You are welcome! So happy you enjoyed it 😊
Very nice ❤
when you comeback go to a GAA match if you can.GAA is the body that runs our indigenous sports of gaelic football and hurling unique to ireland.
That's so interesting! We will be sure to check that out next time we are there. 😊
Great video!
Thank you!!
