I like the idea of Goku acting as Shin's bodyguard in the journey, like he's the Sun Wukong to Shin's Tripitaka.
It'd be a nice contrast to the Buu Saga where Shin was caught flatfooted by Team Dragon's power and shenanigans, with him being prepared/all for it this time around...

To give Shin some credit, he WAS pretty interesting in the manga version of the Future Trunks arc.
Future Trunks saga in the Manga in general was light-years better
He was also more competent and knowledgeable in the manga compared to the anime, like in the manga he knew Zeno while in the anime he didn't.

I do love Shin-and I kinda like that he sucks at his job. But it does get tiring. I hope that this is right and he gets a moment to shine again.
Him sucking at his job isn't really his fault. That's one detail I did like because he had a good reason why instead of just sucking just because.

regarding the daima logo? i kinda like it. it's simple, familiar and the yellow and purple go surprisingly well together. it fits the art style quite well.
I'm still convinced this is their extreme reaction to us demanding Goten and Trunks be aged up, and nothing beyond that was thought of (including the logo).

I really hope Dragonball Daima does Shin justice. Dragonball Z made Shin so incompetent with him not knowing how to deal with Buu and being constantly suprised by Goku, Gohan and Vegeta’s power.
I started the buu saga halfway through, like when the fusion was being taught to goten and trunks and when shin already was an alien version of Speedwagon, so i was really surprised when i saw it from the start and how they tried to make him seem menacing and mysterious
Shin was supposed to look incompetent. Someone who's been so removed from his duties due to his obsession with Buu
Piccolo really should have fought Shin. Even losing, Shin would have had a clue about how powerful the mortals were.
(I don't think Piccolo would have lost either...)
I'm personally hoping for Tien to get some attention when they get back to full size. Before Daima was shown I had an idea that Tien could have been training far away and used the multi-form technique to have 3 of him train against each other, while a fourth stands away to do normal things/teaching a school, and that could be why he was so weak, he was just a 1/4 of him and why he kinda did dumb things in the T.o.P.
He could also be the launch point for the next generation of Earthling Dragon Team warriors. Yurin could be the first of several colorful characters adding some creativity and chaos to the straight-laced dojo. One of them should ask when Tien and Chiaotzu are gonna finally push the futons together.

Tbh, I'm not even certain that toriyama remembers the interview about the supreme kai fruit thing, the biggest indicator of this is zamasu was selected by gowasu from the lower kais of their universe in both anime and manga canon of super, this completely retcons how supreme kais are depicted to be selected in the extended lore of the fruits. I actually was talking to a friend about this the other day and how we both think that toriyama doesnt take anything outside of his Mangas and movies to be a part of his continuity when deciding on storyboards and lore, hell we aren't certain toriyama even looks at his own Mangas and movies when making new content and if he does it must be a loose following of his interviews cuz that's the most substantiated idea with all of his retcons in the super era. At best toriyama uses his interview lore or data books as a loose reference point, the only time you're going to see someone going back and finding lore info and using it is if toyotarou is writing material he's done that atleast twice in the super manga so far.

On a somewhat related note, the difference between how Shin carried himself in the beginning of the Buu saga, to how he carried himself after, is almost night and day.
He started off with confidence and a creepy smug smile - to being disrespected constantly and becoming everyone's favorite DB yaoi bottom twink.
"Dragon Ball - Magic" would have been a better name imo. I mean it fits perfectly, and has alliteration with "Dragon Ball - Super". Shame they didn't stick with it.
Dende is a non-combatant, and the guy always comes through when needed. He’s one of my top ten characters for never failing to be useful. I worked the poor guy nearly to death in my fanfic from all the healing and telepathy he had to perform, and on top of that, he’s been improving the DragonBalls and the training facilities at the Lookout. Another thing he did in the fanfic is give a lesson on how being merciful is a good thing for growing the bonds between Divines and Morties. Point being, if such a critical role exists for Dende, then there must be an equally important role for Shin.

I really hope he gets to be a major character because I actually like him. Heck, he’s one of, if not THE only character who basically never showed signs of being a jerk at any point. He seems like one of the nicest persons in the franchise.
Also, I really really don’t want to be that guy but… going as far as to say that a guy who says he could one shot Frieza without effort could be one shot just as easily by the likes of Trucker Hat 13, that seems a bit unfair to me. Sure, we didn’t see much of his actual power but that’s also why these sorts of affirmations can’t just be taken for granted without solid proof.
And not to be mean to Masako, but he has made power scaling mistakes before, notably in his "Best Buu" video.
I don’t usually like arguing about power levels but I preferred to share my thoughts on this statement.
I like old kai tbh. He's gonna be pissed he missed out on the youthening. When he was young we know he was up for having fights with Beerus, not meek at all!
Remember if Shin was competent at his job, then our heroes would have a lot less to do.
As for Daima I just really want to have Demon ki as an equivalent of Divine ki.

I think the reason the childfication happened to the Dragon Team and not the servers at Burma's party, is because their party food got cursed and if they ate the food, they'd become kids. It seems right up Dragon Balls alley.
The servers DEFINITELY should have gotten childified. :P

The irony of Elder Kai is that when Elder Kai was sealed, he was just the Eastern Supreme Kai, the same exact role Shin was in when Buu attacked.
I always loved Shin from the moment we first met him and his was intimidating AF. I remember thinking he was a new villain. But then he ended up being interesting but became useless. I'm hoping they make him cool again.

You know what had just occured to me? Since the Kais are gods of creation and life, Shin would have been a more logical person to help Bulma with the birth of Bra instead of Whis, or at least just as much.
Maybe we'll wait for Daima to give us more characterization and room to play in, but I think its time for a 'What if Shin joined the Z Fighters?'
'Played like chumps'? That's a weird way to say we got Shin'd! I'm into them fixing his character arc, as well, though. Maybe even making it an Otherworld-style threat in the first place, which somehow nullifies the Dragon Balls from really doing a lot? An in-road for Xenoverse's Time Patrol arc? Something to just give Shin more importance.

I'm actually interested in this. It would be neat to see actual draw backs to be being turned into kids. Not like in gt where goku was just as strong and ss3 was slightly harder to use.

Alternate Title to new anime: Dragonball Shin Daima.
Seeing the images from the Buu arc in the Daimo trailer makes we wonder if this is a follow up from that saga. It reminds me of how they built DBS Super Hero as a follow up to Cell/Red Ribbon.
I would love to see a what if where Babadi goes after Buu on Earth 30 years earlier and Shin decides to enlist the help of Frieza and Cold (since at the time they are the "strongest"). It could take place before the first Dragon Ball journey even happened where the strongest at the time are Kami and Roshi so he isn't involved at all (unless perhaps he has to teach one of them the Mafuba).
Finding out what the kai's are actually supposed to do would be nice, they don't seem to actually have a job.
A idea for future what if. What if Whis trained Shin before the Buu Saga?

Ive heard entirely too many just straight up fake leaks since super ended. I would love to see more of him but Im gonna hold my feelings until we see it and i hope everyone else does the same
Shin has the same problem as Krillen, rather than comparing them to a more average person, they're compared to the top of the top. Shin is still godly powerful and could beat most mortal threats, including Freeza and cell, who are among the peak of mortal achievement during Z. He's portrayed often as a coward, but against the likes of Demon king Dabura, who's on cells level and possesses petrification abilities, and buu, who's physical properties put him on a level above that with absorption powers, he's right to be scared.
It will be nice to see him be relevant in power in a fight. Everything in Super has gone crazy with power levels so he never really got a chance to shine, since he's weak when compared to the other divinities.
Not gonna lie, reading the title without seeing the thumbnail I thought it was the Yamcha being very weak joke.

Why does the Angel (like Whis) hang out with the GOD (like Beerus)? Is it to maybe keep the GOD in check? This got me wondering for the GOD's life is attached to the Supreme Kai's life and if the Supreme Kai is so much weaker than the GOD, wouldn't the Angel be better watching over the SK instead?
Everybody who keeps calling Shin a useless God completely missed the point of what he actually does, the reason he doesn't constantly interfere is because he wants The mortals of universe 7 to be free to make choices for themselves realizing that if they don't do anything for themselves it doesn't matter. It's the classic scenario would you rather live in a fish bowl where everything is provided for you but you have no freedom to do what you want or would you rather be free to do what you want but have to work hard on your own?
Analogy doesn't work.
They are in a fish bowl no matter what and the only "freedom" they experience is dying on mass to various villains of the week.

Dragonball is such a fumbled IP.... So disappointing. Akira Toryama was definately onto something, but it's like they hit a writers block after Z and then forgot everything up to Z before GT was made.
