I don't think it would make sense for the horned purple body to be Ginyu's original. The fact that he can change bodies, but never really did until Goku wouldn't sit right with me.
Alternatively, he could've stolen the body of the strongest one of his species - not sure if it's ever mentioned if the body change thing is a special technique of Ginyu's, a mutation or sorts, or just an ability his species has (though I would imagine something like that would be mentioned as that would be kinda a big thing to have an entire species able to body swap, but I could see that being the case and Toriyama just never mentioning it). In other words, although that might not be his original body, it may be similar to what his original body may have looked like.
All the members of the Ginyu Force are mutants it would only make sense that it’s leader is one too
If it was species based, he wouldn't have been able to mearly take back his body but instead be turned into a frog.

I was always interested in the events that led to Cold deciding it was time to retire. And I’m some ways, he’s not as cold as Freeza. I can’t see Freeza saying “ ok, I’ve had enough, my son can have this”.
Imagine if was something silly like he kept trying to invade the Yardrats, who would teleport him to the other side of the universe. Then he keeps trying and failing until he eventually says "Yunno what? If every planet is gonna be like this from now on, I'm retiring. I'll let the boy take over."

It's really cool to see someone who works on Dragon Ball actually draw and comment on some of the lesser used and "non-canon" characters. Neat stuff!
And now, Toyotaro is a Co-writer of Dragon ball. If he still has that fan-like passion for the series like we all do, he should really start expanding the DB universe
It’s come up before he can’t do anything without Toriyama’s say so; if you want that it would probably have to come after the End of Z anyway.
I'm sure he has a ton of good ideas, but it really comes down to execution. Toyotaro was the one who wanted Bardock in the Granolah arc and we all know how that turned out.

I mean he feels like its gokus thing to use IT and not his. but honestly i think he should have kept using it.
You know considering all the grief and mistakes with toyotaro and the manga I am just glad to see him drawing for fun and enjoying himself.
Puttin Tapion in Super and having him give his sword to Trunks would be amazing to see. Just have Tapion be from another universe in the next Tournament and have him either give it to him out of respect of have Trunks take the sword up after Tapion dies to an unhinged character in the tournament.
I always had this feeling that Tapion was inspired by Chrono Trigger, it does make sense seeing that its animated scenes and artwork were made by Toriyama.
I love these a ton. I have a ton of respect for Toyotarou and this is a fun simple thing that gives you insight in to some long ignored characters. Very cool of you to cover these!

I think what masako noticed was off about launch was her eyes, launches eyes when she’s blonde are smaller and angled differently, toyotaro’s launch was straight up android 18, still great tho

I actually like Super Bardock. Because we've been basing our understanding of Saiyans on Saiyan Saga Vegeta and Raditz, but the thing is, Saiyan Saga Vegeta was a stunted psychopath. When the Saiyans found out about their home planet being destroyed, all the adult Saiyans were horrified, it was only the two kids that were acting cool about it.
My theory is that Saiyans talk a big game about not caring about anyone, but its all talk. In actuality they do grow attached to their team and friends. Vegeta and Raditz, being kids at the time, are doing what kids do and acting how they think grown-ups will act. And then since they were raised by Freeza instead of growing up among their own people, they never grew out of that childish callousness.
This also explains why Nappa was so surprised that Vegeta would betray him. If all Saiyans were like that, why would Nappa be surprised by it?
And i like super bardock actually showing interest in his children, making sure that if the planet is destroyed his children will survive. Also what you gave off lines up quite well with og bardock whose whole story was a revenge arc.
Also it really wont make sense if the race who get powered up after feeling great emotion to be heartless, in the end to get anger you need happiness. And if your heartless you cant feel joy or happiness

That’d be amazing. I’d honestly be happy if they came from the same village. It’d make sence thematically.
Nam was fighting for his poverty stricken villiage and Uub was fighting for his poor family as well.

Honestly I feel like instead of Chapa being uub's teacher, Nam would make more sense since both entered the WT for a simmilar reason. And share alot more of a resemblance in attire.
Looked through all of those recently and my main takeaway was that Toyotaro apparently doesn't realise that he works on Dragon Ball - which honestly explains a lot.

love these! and what i would love to see is dragonball taking a break from all the sayan stuff (goku,vegeta,broly,gohan) and takes time to redevelop some other characters and shows us how much there is to see in the dragonball world, it doesnt need to be planet busting fight all the time, show me grown up Upa and his people fighting a dinosaur or something like this

I just wish they give Toyatoro the steering wheel we've seen when he gets to do his own stuff, Morrow arc, Granolah arc these are fantastic arcs that were original and had actual good character development however whenever Toriyama "oversees" any project he ends up ruining it like making Goku an idiot in dbs super hero, or making the worst ending to any arc in Goku black saga and many more if they full on gave Toyatoro the wheel we could have some really good original dragon ball that we fans have been starved off for years

@@chrismcknight2250 the sad reality is Toriyama is now old and has forgotten about most of his characters he's also lost a lot of care for his characters that he once had. In the past he would craft the story on purpose with ambigiouity for the sole reason he could go back and fill it in later he was also careful to not leave plot holes in the story, he would also make sure each character got his/her development fairly. Now Toriyama destroys characters he once cared for like Goku and Vegeta regressing them cause he just wants to retell the same story, creates constant plotholes and retcons, and has overall just lost care for the story he carefully crafted all those years however Toyatoro isn't like that he still has the heart and soul Toriyama had in his early days and we hope he gives us some of that dragon ball magic that was lost years ago by Toriyama
What about how those arcs ended?
These sketches, in particular Slug and Onio remind me of how the Xenoverse games handled the non canon movies, which I always thought was cool. In those games, all the movie characters are out there in the main canon universe, just they never crossed paths with Goku and Co like they did in their movies' alternate timeline. I'd love for the main series to do something like that too.
i love toyotaro's drew it showing the dragon world & his thoughts on the characters especially eighter(wish he showed up in present day meeting goku again along with 17 & 18.:3),launch(looks right out of black lagoon as a fight between her & revy would be awesome and would love him drawing arale,annin or ranfan next.:3),bardock's team(love it showed the dodoria attack still happened.),ozotto(like he was a schemer in the prison planet arc.),neko majin's cast,monster carrot(think toriyama jokingly said he's just floating on the moon pieces/be funny seeing him come back and turn frieza into a carrot.) & paragus that i'd really love to see the manga to show more.
I can only hope that we get to see more from bardocks crew someday. I think an updated story on bardocks last mission with his crew would be nice. Minus the visions of the future, preferably. Then they could fill in what happened to bardock before planet vegeta was blown up. We could finally see why he was already beat up when he shot that last blast towards frieza.

There’s always a duality of ideals here in the modern DB Community:
It’s either, “Blame Toriyama and Toei/Shueisha for making Dragonball and its characters/transformations/etc outright terrible and give Toyotaro the wheel and let loose on good ideas without being held back”
or
“Blame Toyotaro for ruining the legacy of Dragonball for every fan who’s grown up enjoying it and making it harder to like his art style and his idea of new or existing characters having horrible execution or dismantling the existing lore that Toriyama made (although he was never a “serious” mangaka in the first place for his place is more comedy and has a habit like tricking his audiences by being the opposite of the fans). *Insert more things to blame Toyotaro for things about Dragonball here cause I forgor as I just woke up while I was typing this and I’m lazy atm*

you know something... I'm surprised that Whiss nor the DB group ever asked how he found them? i would have been interesting if Whiss told them earth had the most Saiyans hinting to the fact that others had survived. That could be a new arc to go look and gather them. Similar to GT with the Dark Star Dragonballs but it would Goten and Trunks getting into shenanigans and possible getting stronger.
It would be interesting to see other survivors and see how they've been living. Most probably integrated to other cultures and planets.

I way to have the purple horned form of ginyu be his "original" but also evidence of him using his body change ability is that maybe his race itself had a lot of strong individuals and he just kept stealing similar bodies.
That could fix it. Maybe some old archrival/hero of his people he clashed with (or maybe just betrayed!). "This form is powerful but I'm sick of having this weird alien body."

Tapioka (actually tapioca) is a typical Brazilian dish made from yucca.
While I do agree with the critics in regards to Toyotaro as an artist, I am also 100% sure that the guy is a true Dragon Ball fan chained to a chair. The guy made a name for himself drawing Dragon Ball AF before becoming the official artist after all. Simply put, the higher-ups at Shueisha and Toei don't see the need to stray from the norm because the franchise keeps selling more when the fans are fed the same stuff over and over. People who think how the Granolah arc went is Toyotaro's fault clearly don't have any idea how the Japanese comic industry works.
The new XenoVerse 2 dlc has Great Saiyaman team up with the gammas to defeat cell. They finish him with an epic triple Kamen Rider kick

It would be really interesting if they did kind of like a universal history arc where they went in depth with things like namekians, the cold force, and other famous events that happened prior to dragon ball.
Ithink it’ll fit better as a side manga/project. Smthn like the yugioh mangas, currently there are 3 official ongoing mangas. 1 focusing on the actual story, 1 focusing on different characters and worlds, 1 being a merch plug manga
I'm willing to believe Ginyu's purply/horny design is not his original body. Because it would not make sense, if he can change bodies with his opponents, but he's in his original body, that would imply that he's never used it before. Plus the explanation of how he learned to do it is in the Shonen Jump from 1991
