I’m surprised. Len’s English is really not half bad. I could understand everything he said, and I have never heard that song before. When I first heard Miku’s English, I couldn’t understand anything xD I think Len won the English battle

i'm really happy to have grown up in the vocaloid fandom around these different updates throughout the years, so that i can truly appreciate having gone from only having v1's choppy utterances, to v4x's smooth transition through vowels. i love all of these lens equally and all of them hold a special place in my heart and whatever part of my brain makes me feel nostalgia, but i'm astounded that crypton has come this far with the technology, the seiyuus with the voices, and of course the fandom/producers with the consistent upgrade to common tuning practices. i hope vocaloid never completely loses relevancy, and that i continue to be able to grow alongside them forever.
I still don't get it... Rin & Len got an ACT2 because people claimed there was something wrong with their original VB's, but... actually ACT2 is the one sounding weird, in my opinion! Unless they intended them to sound like that in the first place.
Carina idk if other ppl got the same problems i did but len and rin act 1 made my editor glitch alot so its probably more technical than voice problems
i know this is a 4yo comment but due to the booming success and popularity of miku when she was released, len and rin’s programming for their ACT1 was extremely rushed. it even allegedly caused employees to be constantly working overtime just to get the voicebanks completed as quickly as possible. this obviously made their voicebanks extremely choppy and strange/robotic sounding. due to lots of complaints from users, they released a “fixed” version known as ACT2 with only slightly better programming, but the samples themselves were heavily edited and spliced together, making some of the samples sound even weirder, as well as the samples lost a ton of quality, though it is unclear why.
Vale Drops lol no. I gotta disagree with you. I love Len but his and Rin's ACT 1 were terrible and his ACT 2 isn't great either. Len ACT 1 had choppy and sloppy samples and was of course difficult to use AND even Crypton knew this. It was literally so bad that Crypton tried to fix it, renamed it ACT 2, retired ACT 1, and sent the update to all the people who had purchased the ACT 1 as an apology for rushing to make Len and Rin after the huge success they experienced with Miku. I've always loved the Kagamines but as my japanese has improved over the years, I realize how bad his pronunciations in older songs can sound. But hey, I've heard some producers use Len ACT 1 AMAZINGLY and some actually prefer ACT 1 rather than ACT 2.
I think Len is great, even with his mistakes. I do not speak Japanese, I do not mind pronunciation. I've heard him sing in my language (spanish) and his pronunciation is very bad and I don't care, what I like is the strange voice he has. If you do not agree with me, I have no problem, in "my opinion" he is perfect.
On the Cold/Serious versions on his Append form I can hear echos that makes it sound *very realistic* and I can hear echos on his V4X Power and serious voice banks
They were all amazing, but the V4x ones are the best. The "cold" vb's are a misnomer; they actually sound a bit warm to me as they're so soft. I first heard of (and became a fan of) Vocaloid about 3 years ago (roughly). I was kind of on the fence about Len at first, but he grew on me very quickly. His voice is honestly so pretty and angelic.

I love every Len voice here tbh (V4X the most though since it’s the clearest and most recent version of Len) but his English definitely does need some work. You can make him sound easier to understand, but I’m sure it may take some time. Then again, Rin and Len WERE originally only Japanese, and when I heard Asami Shimoda speak English on a video, she had a pretty heavy accent, so the accent is expected in Rin and Len, but I’m sure it will be improved over time. I mean, Miku’s ENG V3 bank wasn’t too great because it had a very heavy accent and it didn’t even sound like Miku sometimes, but they’ve improved that with her V4 english, haven’t they?
My opinion of what I heard Act 1 would be a lot better for maybe a traditional chinese song. Act 2 would be the same as act 1 but instead traditional japanese Append sounds more clear and to be honest it sounds new even though it isnt lol Append cold sounds sad and just a hint of like a growl Append serious sounds just like like the cold voice bank, I would see this song in hide in solitary seek envy V4x sounds more clear but excited like act 1 and 2. V4x cold is the exact for append lol V4x serious is the exact for append V4x english I hear to much growl and it's not as good as act 1 and 2
I like how between vocaloid1 and 2 the pitch and sound of the voice is the same but you can clearly hear that in vocaloid2 he sounds a whole lot smoother

act 1 had transition problems which they fixed in act 2 but it cost audio quality so it sounds like someone was singing with a pillow on their face
