Thanks for this video - saved me some time and potential headache. NOTE: As others have commented, on the 2010 (sounds like 2009 too??) there's an extra bolt behind the plastic panel that is in the door handle area - a little gray panel where you put your fingers to open the door. Luckily, it uses the same 10mm bolt as all of the other nuts and bolts for this job. Oh, and the little electrical plug is really easy to detach. When you look at it, turn it so that the shorter piece is on the top and then to the right of the top there's a little flat black piece of plastic coming out towards the right. Grab the bottom and push down on the plastic and it pops right off, or at least, my did. If you've done any work on vehicles in the past, you'll recognize the design and know there's a little tab to push to release it.
Video was great. I was able to change my 2010 Pathfinder mirror. Two notes, I got lost when you sat the camera down to take off the panel and second, the 2010 Pathfinder now has an extra screw behind the inside door release handle. Thanks for the video.
Thank you Bud I am replacing both of my wife's mirrors tommorow and thanks to your video I can go in with some more confidence knowing what the hell iam actually doing. Incase your wondering why iam changing both we bought the truck used qnd both mirror housing are flopping all over the place broken! $189 for the replacements.
Thank you SO MUCH for posting this!! My DS window stopped working, I’m assuming the motor needs to be replaced, and my husband is a FF and between the dept and instructing at the fire academy, I just can’t ask him to find the time, so this girls gonna try it herself!! Appreciate you!
I just changed side mirror on a 2007 and it ended up having one more screw behind the handle plate! … glad I didn't force too much! Thanks for the video!
Just thought I'd mention these steps will also work for a 2009 NISSAN FRONTIER. The steps are nearly exact. The only differences: there is a plastic piece inside the interior door handle that hides a screw, and all the screws were 10mm. Otherwise everything else was exactly the same. THANK YOU FOR UPLOADING
Very helpful, my 06 SE also has the third screw under the door latch trim piece. The replacement mirror also had a different style connection port, so I had to solder the old connector to the new unit. Thanks for the video!
Almost perfect! Had my new mirror on in Less than 30min thanks to this video. Same issue with the bolt behind the door handle but found it before I did any damage. Would have been helpful to see how u got the connection apart but got it eventually. Didn't have a 10mm on hand(3/8 was to small 7/16 too big, Canada?) Used an 11mm. Worked as nothing was super tight. Thanks again! 🍺
+Carlos Perez Hi Carlos, I haven't had to do this myself, but I asked around and this is what I found: 1. When you look at the back tail gate finish panel you will notice three access panels, one in the middle and one on each side. 2. With a flat blade screw driver or trim tool, carefully pry the panels off, you will see a little slot for the blade of the tool to insert in to. 3. With these off you now have something to grab on to. 4. Starting on either the right or left side, carefully but forcefully pull on the finish panel to disengage it from the white body clips. You will hear and see a pop. 5.You should have easy access to the license plate bulbs now. At this point if you want, using a trim fastener plier, you can remove the bottom trim clips but this should NOT be necessary. 6. Twist the bulb harness counter clockwise and you will hear and feel it disengage. Pull the bulb out. 7. Replace stock W5W bulb with a cool SMD Bulb like: 5-SMD 168 194 LED Bulbs For Car Interior Lights, License Plate Lights 8. Test your installation. 9. Reverse of step #6 to reinstall.Make sure your bulb housings are seated for waterproofness. 10. Line up the finish trim pins with their respective holes and push in with your hands. 11. Replace the 3 access panels. 12. Enjoy! Hopefully that helps!
Theres a 3rd screw on the door panel behind the door handle. Just remove the trim cup . He only unscrewed 2. Theres 3. The panel will break there. Great video otherwise.
This video really helped with my 2010 Nissan Pathfinder driver side mirror. Thank you for this great video

Just did this myself, OE mirror was heated, replacement wasn't, that's what the extra wires and different connector were for
