Because right now I can only eat beef and if I eat pork or chicken or even fish I feel awful and get digestion issues. I can't even eat eggs.

My carnivore diet for the last 3 years has been high fat, moderate meat because I'm trying to balance my hormones and keep epileptic seizures at bay - which I have had success. So much so that I'm off all epilepsy medication for the first time in my whole life - and I'm 43. 44 this year, and seizure free - without help from doctors smh. I am my own Dr now.
High fat carnivore has helped me get my life back.

Loved the balance here. Shawn's attitude needs to spread among carnivores. I used to be one of "those" vegans to the point I was only eating raw. I saw incredible benefits for the time I did it, but it was also a pain in the ass. Now that I'm doing carnivore, I refuse to make it like a dogmatic religion. Many people experience many different ways of eating that benefit them in the stage of life that they are in. What is most important to me is coming out of the social ideology that governments, food producers, pharmaceutical companies, and doctors that have been educated in such a way as to make sure the big wheel keeps spinning don't necessarily know what is best for me. This is just another step in taking responsibility for my life and enjoying its freedom.

Great Interview, thank you. Dr. Baker's comments confirmed my results. I tried Carnivor to improve my health (Not Weight Loss) about 3 years ago but only lasted about 3 weeks, I had the explosive diarrhea for about 2 weeks and thought its not for me, so i quit. Well about 4 months ago I was getting gut issues that wouldn't resolve, so I tried it again. This time, no Diarrhea (strange??) I have been Carnivore for 3 months now and I'm very surprised. Dr Shawn Baker nailed it. My main reason for staying on it now is my recovery. I'm 59 and have been practicing jiu jitsu for about 3.5 years. I use to train a maximum of 3 times per week (always with aches and pains), but now I recover so quickly I have no issue with 4 or 5 per week (almost no pain at all). I don't know if it will always be this way, but I certainly feel much younger and fitter. Friends and Family always comment on how young and strong I look for my age, but the negative comments start when I tell them why. For me it's the hardest part of this lifestyle.

@@chillymeatball, that is awesome! I plan to start carnivore soon, and I’m just going to tell people I eat Keto (unless they truly have an interest), because carnivore sounds crazy at first-it took me a year to decide to be open to it. It sounded sooo extreme and even unhealthy to me at first.
Update (can’t believe I found this comment again!): 2 months later…. I started carnivore right after this post, and I just tell people I eat carnivore now if they ask. Or sometimes I volunteer it! 😂 I just really don’t care what people think-so long as I’m enjoying my life, who cares?!
I’m started to see small changes. I had developed a small patch of eczema on one leg that was getting worse as time went on. That’s about 98% gone now!
I was also getting super sleepy in the afternoons, and that has improved some. I know healing can take a while, and I was whole food plant based for many years, so I’m hanging in there!

It is not the only quality attached to butcher’s dogs, however - such animals were perhaps widely observed as a result of customers having to entertain themselves somehow while the butcher prepared their cuts, and a dog gave them something to watch. A variant has someone as ‘happy as a butcher’s dog’. John Ray, in his collection of English proverbs from 1670, describes the expression ‘as surly as a butcher’s dog’. I was the ONLY person there with a flat stomach and any muscle in the upper body. I literally started to get self conscious about it.. started to worry everyone , out of jealously now that i think about it, would start to dislike me for walking around and looking good.. so I put my shirt on a lot.... looking back that is so stupid of me but when everyone, men and women, all have massive guts and thin or flabby arms... i couldnt help but feel like a standout and started to try and hide it. I'm not even the one that noticed it.. I was there with two of my brothers who are both a little over 300lbs and they are the ones that pointed out to me I was the only person there in good shape. Bunch of women after me too lol... two especially were pretty aggressive trying to land me... sadly for them Im actually gay. My oldest bro finally told these two women they were "barking up the wrong tree with that one" so theyd leave me alone. Anyways, all that to say carnivore changed my life. reversed NAFLD and Type 2 diabetes as well.

The carnivore diet is just a very natural human way of life. Every type of human species in history has based their diet on, and around meat. Quite recently though, some people have deviated. Hence one key reason we have these chronic diseases all over the world.

@ken adams It is quite clearly, both. Why would you eat garbage like sugar and plants and highly processed food? Btw, all whole plant foods are hybridised and engineered, and break down as sugar. They're extra sweet and still very toxic. Plants fought to be here just like all other life forms. They don't run or hide or fight physically. So they're defenceless? Nope. They provide a lovely cocktail of defence compounds to stop you from eating them. But why would you not eat human food (red meat). People can do what they like. But if you want to thrive and "save the planet" then you should be eating mostly pasture raised red meat. The way practically every human in history has eaten. I'd suggest looking up what the fruits and veggies looked like before we modified them all. You wouldn't recognise them. You really wouldnt want to eat them either, lol. Take care.

I’m not sold on total carnivore vs low carb mostly carnivore all real food with some fasting, but I’m going to try it and then slowly reintroduce limited plant based real food.
    My priorities:
    0. Proper sleep, outdoor sunlight, overall wellness and energy level.
    1. Addiction to industrialized carbohydrates and the internet.
    2. Insulin Resistance
    3. Gut health
    4. Strength and Stability including core for injury prevention.
    5. Cardiovascular endurance and stamina.
    6. Get my belly measurement back down to less than half my height.
Down to 30g carbs per day. Might have to go lower.
Carbs that seem ok for me which I’ll gradually reintroduce in limited quantities:
    1. liver
    2. dairy, especially homemade fermented milk
    3. wild local blueberries, well rinsed
    4. walnuts
    5. some herbs and greens
    6. cabbage, especially as homemade sauerkraut
    7. Black beans, well drained and soaked then boiled, sometimes fermented or sprouted.
    8. Oats, well rinsed and soaked, sometimes sprouted or fermented.
Current average macros while losing weight:
    Fat: 60g
    Protein: 60g
    Net Carbs: 30g
    Fibre: 30g
I only worry about the fibre on days I consume plant based carbs.
Feast days of full 2000-2500 calories are more strictly carnivore, some herbs and berries. I look forward to more of those once I’ve lost weight.
Days with plant based food always include fibre. That works best on lower calorie days, like 500-1000 calories.
Near fast days under 500 calories for me are just coffee or chai spiced tea with some whole milk or heavy cream. I will still have some of those days after I’m down to ideal weight.
Eventually I would like to grow all of our plant based food, which is much easier when it is limited in quantity and variety. On the animal side I hope to eventually get it all from small local operations, or field and stream.
Eventually my diet will be completely free of large corporations. That shit will kill you.
    Eat Real Food
    Accept No Substitutes

Really exactly where is the body storing oxalate? Its right up there with liver detox with olive oil and candling to remove ear wax. It's a bunch of crap. Oxalate are organic and inorganic. Only the organic ones bind to minerals in the gi tract. Tgey are then excreted in stool and urine. Tgey aren't stored. They are not heavy metals being stored in neurons and other various tissues of the body. The mainnissue with Oxalate is rather b8nd with minerals and in the specific case of calcium it is then excreted thru the kidneys where it's shape and charge can cause it to created calcium based stones. Normally this takes other confounding factors.
Cooking especially boiling just about every high oxalate veggie decreases it by 70+%. Example being spinach boiled vs raw. Kale is close to the highest content.
For those so sure about the science of Oxalate dumping please provide any research paper on it. Not some blog but an actual study that measured Oxalate content changes without any further intake of the offending foods. How sudden.y there is a spike in Oxalate compounds concentrations in urine and fecal matter. Just on the basic biology common sense it's ridiculous.
Most people that get a bad flu feeling a couple weeks in is typically the conversion adoptions from glucose to ketones. Tge other is an issue with electrolytes which takes attention to ensure your getting enough magnesium and potassium just to name two. If your eaten head to tail most other vits and mins will be findor many times over rda. But Mag, Pot, vit C are ones to think about.
Eat a mix of liver heart kidney bone marrow, cod liver chicken liver gizzards eggs plus typical fatty skeletal meat everything is pretty covered outside those.

It’s about independence it’s about survival it’s about people perish with a lack of knowledge in hard times if a war breaks out if the electricity is taken off in our cities because bombs are hitting it. It’s about independence that I don’t need money to survive or much money I can grow a garden in my backyard I don’t need much land I don’t need to buy a little and I don’t need to go and buy meat I don’t have to work if I couldn’t for some reason and I don’t have to run around using all of my Energy to hunt animals if I don’t have to it’s about learning the knowledge on how can I eat the right way not a junk food vegan of course you’re going to be upset depressed and a lot of people that go vegan are unhealthy in the first place like there’s a lot of meat eating people that are depressed and unhealthy to but most vegans I know which I plenty no one is doing studies on them they don’t get sick they’re healthy they’re happy there vibrant there intelligent their learning new skills all the time they grow a garden they live off their garden they have a good water and their thriving and the children are thriving and they never get sick. So you gotta look deeper into things and there’s plenty of people that leave a really long life healthy looking young eating vegan not junk eating vegan fruit veggies mostly raw making your own salad dressing not buying some crap from the store to put on your vegetables and your salad making delicious salad’s. Fasting is the key here these people aren’t eating as much they cutting out the junk it doesn’t really matter what you’re eating to a degree if you’re fasting you’re not eating all the time the body is the power and the body has all the energy and everything it needs to heal it’s not about the food dominantly research has shown that so you’ve gotta look into that research food is only a small part of healing and keeping the body healthy if you’re eating meat or throughout the day you’re going to be sick you’re not giving your body a break if you’re eating vegetables in through fruit or throughout the day it’s not good for the body you’re not giving the body a break. At the end of the day I wouldn’t be running away with him because he’s big and strong and eats meat and he might know how to hunt or he might not even I would be running away with the knowledgeable people that know every weed to eat every plant to eat had a grow plants and they can share that knowledge and share that food around for everybody more than you can share some meat and I’ll be learning how to survive and vegetation because if shit hits the fan they’re the ones that are going to survive the ones with all the knowledge and you gotta look deep behind this because the darkness does work through people looking like it’s caring about us when it can be teaching us like we already have to lose the knowledge for survival because we think everything is going to be fine but one minute and walk and break out and the next minute everything is not fine at all and you’re in survival mode and I’m telling you now the ones that are going to survive will be the ones that have all the knowledge about the land when you can eat what you can’t eat what you can survive on not the ones that dominantly just know about eating meat and at the end of the day it’s a lot cheaper and you’ve got your independence if you can live off the land grow a veggie garden you don’t need much land you don’t have to own land you can go in the wilderness but if you’re surviving of meat most people have to pay for that or buy lots of land do lots of work to survive of meat and if you look at the slaughterhouses a lot of that blood is drained into our rivers there is a lot of pollution in that but I don’t spray pesticides on my vegetation my friends don’t spray pesticides in their vegetation you can learn some natural ways to get rid of past you can do organic farming where you plant certain plants and you don’t even need to use pesticides at all of any kind even ones that you make and you can survive almost for free if not for free with having knowledge about the land not just about meat is making me strong and healthy and because I’m eating once a day and I’m fasting which really is the key because you’re allowing your body to heal and do the work food is a small aspect
