I love how you discipline your children. You let them know that you love them but you don't love their behaviour at that particular time. You always talk to them from your heart and let them know what you expect of them without being critical and mean. Bonnie, you and Joel both love your children so much and it shows in every interaction you have with them. I know that, at times, you probably get angry just like most of us but many times I've wished I had the patience and empathy you have when dealing with bad behaviour from your kids. Keep up the good work. Your kids are beautiful and wonderful beings. Happy Valentine's Day!!
I feel like I was Boston when I was little- I would be so upset for no reason. I know you know that he has a good heart- it’s just his personality- you’re doing amazing. I think that’s why he loves “quite time” because his mind is manic. (Not in a mean way whatsoever) ❤️

I have one too! He is the second boy and that seems to be pretty common.
My son is 5 and he’s the same, a complete emotional wreck 😬 I think he’s just really in touch with his feelings, even if he doesn’t know why he’s acting a certain way. Wouldn’t change him for the world, he’s the sweetest, most loving child 💙
Bonnie my 5 year old nephew was exactly the same as Boston. Trust me when I say that he will be a changed boy once he starts socialising with kids his own age at school/kindergarten. I guarantee that his irritability will go once he starts thriving and achieving new things 😘

In our country, women do not treat their men like that, even with joke... ☝ I do not remember if Ruby, or Julie or Ellie treat or talk to their husbands like Bonnie does. 😑

Not meaning this in a rude way at all . But he’s probably just starting to get bored at home all the time while the other kids are at school etc . My daughter started to get the same way around that age . She didn’t start school still just almost 5 .

Seeing you talk to Boston made me emotional because I am going through the same thing with my 7 year old. He is the cutest and sweetest boy but on the flip side he can also be very cranky and mean. I love seeing how real you are. Thank you, I am glad I'm not alone in this.

This is like my favorite vlog EVER. I can't tell u how many times I laughed out loud!! Joel's hilarious editing and jokes always get to me and so do Bonnie's funny personality. I also love the sweet talks with Bonnie and Boston, those always warm my heart. I love you guys!! Thanks for making my day brighter❤️
Does Boston only get cranky when Cody and Olivia are at school? Maybe he needs kids his age around so it gets better when he goes to kindergarten. I guess being cranky to Lincoln is the easiest to get things out of his system because Lincoln is younger.
lincoln is close in age to Boston and doesn't listen to him like he does to Cody and Olivia. That frustrates Boston. Lincoln doesn't listen to anyone really and that may also be part of the problem . Boston tries to mind and you laugh every time lincoln misbehaves. Love you Bonnie but you are not being fair and he sees it. Look back at them opening the gift this morning. Lincoln isn't a baby any longer and he does things to aggravate the kids. The older kids understand more Boston doesn't. That's my opinion and like a holes... lol You guys rock at 97% perfect parenting. lol
pam riley ~ This is exactly what I think too. They never yell at Lincoln for doing stuff that honestly is annoying to the other kids and they wonder why Boston gets mad.
I don’t agree. We just get to see 10-15 minutes a day. When Lincoln is really naughty Bonnie and Joel just don’t film it most of the times when they discipline him. And Lincoln is naughty on camera sometimes. Like when he finds Bonnie’s bag or found cream in a bag in his cupboard. Maybe B&J do treat Lincoln not the same as Boston but every child is different and Lincoln is their last 1.
Just because your last doesn't mean you should be treated differently. We can't choose our birth order. I think if they praise Boston more for the good things he does in front of Lincoln. Tell Lincoln do this like Boston in front of him some of the time and remind Boston he is Lincolns example so be kind and help him to learn. They would see a change in Boston in short order. He tries so hard to please his parents.
Aw maybe Boston is moody because he isn't the baby anymore. Maybe he gets bored and frustrated during the day without Cody and Olivia to play with also. I guess he is the classic middle child. Not a baby and not the big kid either. I bet he's a bit sore with his nose too.

Aw when Boston said he doesn’t know why he gets cranky my little heart broke. Poor kid. He honestly had the biggest heart and is an emotional little boy!
before i realized i had anxiety and ocd and was diagnosed, i was a lot like boston. i would get upset over nothing and was rude and snappy for no reason. i was 16 when it got really bad and finally went to a doctor, but looking back, there were a lot of things in my childhood that i could contribute to my anxiety. not saying that boston has anxiety or anything, but it’s something to keep in mind! it manifests itself in weird little ways that may not seem like it’s anxiety, but could be. times are tough, boston, but the hulk is tougher!💚
i love boston’s honesty saying “i just don’t know what i’ll do if the teacher makes me mad” but you should make sure he knows he CAN do it and that you believe in him. i just don’t want him to get it in his head that it’s just some impossible challenge and give up.. ❤️

nothing wrong with apologising to your child for not reacting the way your wanted to .. it shows you are human and teaches the children that apologising when you don't act the way you want to is a good thing..Ps you are human all mums lose their temper at one time or another

Boston has middle child syndrome ❤️ I dealt with that a lot with my middle child who tried so incredibly hard to be sweet & nice but just couldn’t keep it together all day so I tried to make sure to give him just a bit more attention in the afternoon when it seemed to happen the most ! Bonnie you’re an amazing momma & I love to see how absolutely sweet you are with each & every kiddo ! Happy Valentines Day to you all ! Xoxo ❤️

I love the tender moments you have with Boston. Maybe you could give him some cool-down tools. When he starts getting upset with Lincoln, have him go sit and play with stress putty or shake a homemade snow/glitter globe. And when he says rude things, give him a chance to reword himself before getting upset with him. "Boston, how could you say that nicely?" I'm not a mom, but I'm an educator and I'm only trying to be helpful. 😊

Your diet can really affect your mood/personality. I have two of my kids who need to keep their blood sugar stable or they turn into irrational unhappy cuckoo birds. I had to increase the protein and eliminate as much carbohydrates as I could. This meant the ENTIRE family had to change diets ---because you can't isolate 2 little kids----and eliminate most carbs. We went to fresh fruits and yoghurts for treats. The difference was monumental. Good luck.
Lark Bird food dye as well! My youngest (5) is a different child if he consumes food dyes. And it doesn’t take much either! Food is VERY powerful!

Lark Bird, agreed!! This is our problem too. Our 14 year old struggles with this and always has. I pick him up from school and want to literally shove some almonds and an apple down his throat because I know what's coming if he doesn't eat a healthy snack. 😂😂😜😜
Kim: it's very difficult when they're unable to snack. Can you send him with little packets of nuts he could keep in his pockets and scarf down during class changes? Such a shame because how much can you punish a child for a sour grumpy sassy mood they can't really help?

Oh Bonnie, you guys are breaking my heart. I can totally see that Boston is trying! I see such improvement in his behavior. He is much more patient and tender than before. Since the beginning he had a spunkier personality, and as a spunky person myself, it's hard to timid. What I can say for sure is that the way you handle him is so sweet and loving that he definitely gets the support he needs to keep on his attempts to work on his temper.

Boston reminds me sooooo much of my son at that age. My son is 8 now and as I look back on that age, I would say that because they can’t articulate about things when they have sooooo much to say. Boston has a BIG heart and he knows right from wrong. My son is super passionate and sensitive. Smart as a cookie too just like Boston. You’re a great mom to sit with him and talk about it. It will get better with time and age! ❤️

I understand Boston, he's sweet and sensitive and requires extra attention from Mom. He's the middle boy, not old enough to do the things his brother Cody does and doesn't require the attention that Lincoln needs. Think about how he responded when his quiet time with mom didn't happen, it was hard to watch. Being sensitive he may require more attention than the other three, and if he can't find it from his mother he may seek the attention elsewhere-like the lady down the street. It was nice to see you talk to him and "softly" correct the problem he had with Lincoln.

I have a sweet 4 year old boy, just like Boston. He loves hard & just feels all his other emotions really hard too. Days are rough a lot of the time but the good ones are seriously the best. This too shall pass as all phases do, I love seeing your raw real mommy moments because I see myself and my sweet boy and just feel at peace that others feel the same joys and struggles.
