Dude I was saying the same thing… I wish they had a channel of just Dirk playing. 😂Seems extremely humble and an actual decent human being (hard to find these days). Jonathan Moffett (MJs drummer) has his cymbals behind him. I imagine that it’s for effect since he does the blind cymbal chokes and hits.
Have you ever checked out Manchester Orchestra? Their drummer is absolutely phenomenal. Their song “The Silence” is a masterpiece in every sense of the word. They even sound better live. But the drummer has a channel (Tim Very) and him playing their song “The Wolf” is absolutely captivating every time.

It’s his megadeth tour kit, if I remember correctly, he just stopped by drumeo on a day off on tour last year.

Honestly , I wasn't surprised at all that he didn't know this track , when I discovered him many years ago , he was playing with Aborted then he went from Aborted to Soilwork and I’m pretty sure this Paramore song came out around that time tho .

I've always used Remo pin stripes for my Tom heads. I think they're better than Evans

I was really hoping he was gonna double bass the chorus.

I'm actually glad he didn't, because I don't think it would really fit with the song. I think one of the indicators of his genuine talent, is his ability to adapt to play outside his wheelhouse so easily. He can hear the track, get a vibe for the genre (pop/punk), and switches gears so that it sounds appropriate to that song. Sure he spices it up with his own style a tiny bit, but for the most part he's adapting to the job in front of him. Which as a studio drummer (him, not me), is one of the most valuable traits.

If you're uncomfortable with the setup of your drums 🥁 that's on you!!! There's a drummer you need to watch and listen to and her name is Haruna from the Japanese metal band LOVEBITES!!!! She has her kit setup so efficiently it's insane!!! Just like Harunas drumming!!! Check her out if you haven't heard her before

Obviously not as good as the original, double time was an awesome touch though
