I love watching your videos before I attempt the project. Watching you paint and the banter with Keenan is soothing to my soul.

I didn't have the gold ink, so I pulled out a cheap "metallic watercolor" palette I had. The gold from that worked just fine! A gold marker or paint pen might also work. I just wanted folks to try this even if they don't have the box.

I found it very helpful that you had a copy of your finished picture in the upper left hand corner.

I love that we get to see Sarah’s thought process real time, and she is teaching us to be ok with saying “hm, I wonder what would happen if…” ❤️

This is so beautiful!! The way you smeared the white in the large flower made me think of the Northern Lights. Could be a cool way to paint them.

I grow Queen Anne's Lace and goldenrod together in one of my garden beds. Then you get that same idea of the gold spikes with the white umbels. (but they don't grow on the same plant, lol)

I've been getting your videos and a monthly subscriber since I received your BE KIND watercolor kit. I'm now at the point where I like to challenge myself to follow the written directions and my intuition that you've drug out of me first, and then watch and follow those directions and little tidbits you give during the video. Following the written directions it said to mix all of the colors together to get a navy blue. So I did that including the bleed-proof white, which gave it a slightly chalky navy blue that I really liked.

Wow, thank you so much for this, I really enjoyed painting this one with you. I used Indigo as my background and white gouache for the flowers. Oh, and my gold highlights were with some gold watercolour paint I already have. And lastly, here in England we have Cow Parsley along the hedgerows, usually in May, very similar to Queen Anne Lace.

I wonder if I could get a similar look using masking fluid for the white spaces instead of painting the white on afterwards…?

Can bullet proof white be stored into a half pan and dried out for plein air / urban sketching once re-wetted? Thanks for this video (I love Queen Lace!) We have a bunch in our area during the summer months.

2 questions: if you don’t have bleed proof white, could you substitute whit gouache or diluted acrylic paint? And are you painting the white overtop of the salt you sprinkled on?
Thanks ! You make it look so easy!

I just painted this using gouache in place of the bleed proof white and it came out great.

I am in South Africa and “bleed proof white paint” is hard to come by is there another name for it or is there an alternative?
What is the difference when compared to gouache ?

    • @LetsMakeArt

you could likely get away with using a white gouache, they are very similar in function

If I don’t have bleed proof white can I use regular watercolor white?

    • @valperkins6621
      @valperkins6621 Год назад +1

You can, but it won't be nearly as opaque. If you've got a white paint pen, you could use that. Try the white you have and see what it does! It's "wabi sabi" after all, lol.
