Pauly - my heartfelt gratitude to you for sharing your videos. I am a brand-new prospector and by using your approaches I was able to find (a little) gold out in California a few weeks ago. It means a lot to me especially because I plan on incorporating any gold I find into wedding bands... The hunt is on!

I wish you would find a better spot to weigh your gold. I cringe everytime you dump that gold out over that carpet. I'm sure two toes does also. I wonder how much you have lost in the carpet.
I liked it. You did great, but you seemed like it was a burden not a fun hobby. You need to make sure you keep up that fun hobbie thing. Where I live in utah we don't have that kind of place or I we would live there on the weekends.

I was totally expecting some overdubbed "tink tink tink" poking sounds when you were touching the surface gold in the beginning of the video. Those types of edits you put in (like the CS hitmarkers, etc) make me laugh. I'd love to see you do some more high banking if you can.

It's not so much about the gold as it is about the hunt. Gold is, as you say, the candy. The hunt is the meal.

One thing I was wondering, why don't you just do a bloopers vid, or maybe add bloopers to the end of the video's. I'm sure you've fallen into that water numerous times (I would have as well) but it would just be funny to see the even lighter side of you:)

4:25 Man, you have not 100% vision but 1000% good vision. I don’t wear glasses and I can definitely say that I would not have noticed such gold in the dirt. I can see gold only in my sluice box or in gold pan😐
Wait, what? The guy using a dinner plate to dig fist sized nuggets is all fake?
Considering the views he gets, my guess is that a load of people think it's totally legit'.
1. Does anyone make a plastic sieve with less than 1/2'" holes? 3/8" or 1/4" would be handy. Screen down with that and check the "tailings" in the pan with a MD 20 or a pinpointer for larger nuggets - quickly.
2. Yabby pump for the water holes?
3. Are your waders and boots one piece?
4. When you have inserted text - PLEASE dwell on it for at least a few seconds. Your "rant" about nuggets (I agree) I had to go back-and-forth 5 or 6 times to stop on it to actually read it. No fair! ....Or was that supposed to be a "subliminal" message?

Thank you for explaining the fake stuff too. I kinda knew it was fake, but at the same time it IS compelling to look at, until yr absolutely sure, and then you feel cheated. I like Pauly better :D And Dan Hurd too. (love that happy go lucky attitude you both have)
Edit to add: Ps: I love the short vids too. I don't mind coming along on the adventure where you *don't* find gold! I'd rather see reality, and therefore the MORE excitement when you DO find something really cool. Besides, fly poop always makes me laugh anyway. so sue me, I'll always be a kid!

I really appreciate that You, Dan Hurd, and Vo-Gus, all post videos quite often. I think you passed Jeff Williams because you post more often. I don't really want to say anything bad about Jeff, as he is a great geologist and is a great source of knowledge, but the number of new videos he is releasing are far and few between.

Thanks for bringing that up Pauly. I just hate that channel "Golden Beard" or whatever it's called where those asians are pretending to find crazy big nuggets all the time. So annoying. I've posted several comments on the vids trying to make people realize the truth but it's just pointless effort. Sad reality is that people that are uneducated in this will keep falling in the trap of their fake content.
Been following quite a few channels for a long time now and some of them tend to get burned out, and one has reported a big drop in viewers which he believed was from posting too many videos. Especially if it sacrifices quality.
I think the best recipe is to do up to one a week, of good quality, with the occasional extras thrown in. Just an opinion. I do know viewers will ask for all sorts of things, even stuff they won't like.

Hey man, good videos. You should probably practice Leave No Trace while you look for gold. The moss you remove is both good for the environment and looks gorgeous. Please try to leave the forest exactly the way you found it. No one wants to see a bunch of holes all over the place.
I would be thrilled finding that much gold. Back here in Pennsylvania we find lead bullets and lead fishing weights. It's a very exciting day if we find a flake of glacial drift gold. Love the video.
Nice gold man, not easy to come by but always worth it. My second last trip out prospecting I found two flakes of gold the size of horse fly shit, just that bit bigger than normal size fly shit so you are right, you cant always be on it, there is a lot of searching but that's half the fun. I can't wait for the camera man addition, the somewhat "behind the scenes" footage is going to be awesome, good luck mate 👍
You should invest in a lightweight hydraulic portapower. You could spread apart a lot more rocks than with just muscle power. Great video.
