Glad to see you back Stuart...i hope your recovery continues...I haven't updated my node computer wires x software since I put the node together 2 years ago.. It worked so why fix it.. I'm wondering what wires x software to update it with? All the software I now see on yaesus website relates to the above hri-200less set up? Stumped...
Stuart, many thanks for this video, very informative indeed. I dissembled my Wires-X setup - too many boxes and too many wires - hi Maybe I need to dust off the FTD-100D and update the firmware. I was sorry to hear that you had been poorly and I hope that you are making good progress now. 73 Gary G0DNI

so long as its running windows 7,8,10 it should work fine The wires-x software is currently only available for windows based pc's although I am experimenting with ubuntu and ios to find a compatible VM setup, no luck so far but its early days...hihi
@@M0SGSStuart Thanks for the answer Stuart. I only run macOS here. I considered running through Parallels (a Mac VM) but I would probably have to spend as much on memory as I would getting a small format Atom based PC. I'm not sure it will run under Wine in Linux but it might run reasonably well under VMWare. It's been a while since I played with that. These days I only run Linux remotely on my hosted server, so a GUI isn't used :). Ian
@@diblingtonvale6499 I know it works on a netbook G4MCF Colin has the uk-net-hub running on a atom based netbook which cost around £100 I think wires-x software is OS but not processor dependant

I just discovered also use your radio in PDS system. You need to exit in wiresx mode and then press the button dx and turn your radio on
Yes saving the PDN stuff and Mobile nodes use for seperate videos

Your website is missing..??
Just dandy Stuz. Cheers.
The is brilliant Stuart. Do you think an Atom processor and 2GB RAM would hack it for the PC? From Ian. G0VGS
