Just because you can make a youtube video does not mean you should. lots of things in your video should have you as ham go hummmmmm, like using device manager to find out what comm port you scu 20 cable is, or how to look at the keyway on the cable to see witch way it goes so you don't bend the pins "prongs". Lose the headset your not a gamer when talking about amateur radio.
Im glad you came here for help because you didn't know how to do it only to critique the guy who showed you how. Glad I could help you out though. I know this process isn't as straight forward and some people need a video guide to follow documentation from the official yaesu site. Stay humble. PS. You don't sound as smart as you think you are. Cool your jets. It may feel like you wrote the most clever comment on RUclips, but everyone scrolling by is laughing at you. That's why I'll pin your comment to the top. You get public stage to show the viewers watching this what the end game of angry old men look like in the hobby so they can avoid you like a plague and continue enjoying the hobby unbothered with gamer headsets. 😂 I'll continue making videos to help people. You just continue doing...whatever you do?
Kevin, I think a better reply would have been "hey thanks for the info, here are some suggestions from my own viewpoint" It's great that you understand the Device Manager in Windows and you don't like headsets, but have you tried English lately? "witch" instead of "which" and you used the wrong "your" - I just think that if you want to point out faults from someone else, you should take care of your own first. Just my opinion, of course...
As a Fisher-Price level ham radio operator, I cannot tell you how helpful this video was for me. Thanks so much, and I look forward to more of your videos with this radio as I learn how to use it.
Thank you very much. I managed to get it done. The panel switch is about as cheap as you can get! I kept looking for a switch that would be the same as the main radio switch. Had to get my magnifying plastic out. AC9IM
I updated my Yaesu FTM-100D not by buying the expensive Yaesu SCU-20 cable, but by buying a £14.21 Yaesu Interface SCU-20 PC type Connection Cable PL2303GT USB to Mini Din 10 Pin for Yaesu FTM-100D/DE/DR FTM-400D/DE/DR cable from Aliexpress. This also worked fine in Windows 11, which I did my updates with.
DSP likely stands for Digital Signal Processor, especially because there was a reference to C4FM. The LCD will likely be covered by the panel firmware.
Hi! Nice Video! Could you make a new video with the default settings on the service menu? Following these instructions, you can access. I probably made some mistakes and I would like to fix it !. The instructions are available on these sites: radioaficion.com/cms/ftm-100d-alignment/ www.hamoperator.com/Fusion/FusionFiles/K9EQ-FUSION-PDF-0026_FTM-100_Power_Adj.pdf Note that previously, you must set the second display into the default setting. Thank you! 73's from LU1YES

One question, was it worth all the effort? What improvements have you noticed?
Using it as a ysfrelfector standalone node is nice. If you don't intend to do that, there's not a lot of reason.
@@ModernHam Thanks!
Very Helpful brother....Thanks so much!;-))

You are correct.
Thank you for the feedback!
my panel has gone dead

Good video, but get your thoughts together first and stop all the "ummm", "ahhh"
