Wow your daughter tried telling you she didn't like her dance class and you still force her to do it. Just remember things you do now will impact her later in life psychologically. I think its your dream not hers. Really sad to watch I feel for her.
Thanks for your concern girl. Heids and I had a big chat after the show and she was able to explain that she was more or less confused by the question and didn't want to quit dancing at all. Unfortunately part and parcel with going on reality tv is opening yourself (and evidently your children) up to being portrayed in a particular way that may differ from the truth. I can assure you that this is what happened in our case and that I would never force any of my children to do something they didn't want to do. I do understand the concern though, as I would feel exactly the same way as an audience member viewing our episode. Although it's hard, lately I've been trying to look beyond the personal criticism and appreciate how many people there are out there who are willing to stand up for children who they feel are being mistreated and I have to applaud it. It's important to call out behaviour which we don't agree with, particularly when there are innocent children or minorities involved. Ultimately, that's how we create change. So, while I don't agree with your viewpoint, I appreciate that you took the time to stand up for what is right. Big love to you.
@@AshJackson yes reality shows cut videos and make conversations seem more negative than they really are, I feel like everything was portrayed alot worse than how it really was
After watching your episode on wife swap and then your 2 part videos you done with janine I can completely see what the both of you are saying, such a positive behide scenes with your time on the show and as well as life experiences after it, please continue with what the both of you are doing, and praying the charities do really well with the money raised! 👏🏻😄🎉
It is really unfortunate that such a small misunderstanding has caused so much hate in your community, I’m really sorry that this happened to you and your channel. I’m 15 and I don’t like having a very strict and structured routine but I have friends that do, they enjoy piano, violin, or guitar practice. And essentially that was the whole point of the show, to show how different families act and treat their kids, at the end every family was happy the way they are being raised. It’s really frustrating that shows make a lot of things over dramatic to entertain viewers not thinking of how the cast may seem out of the show. I hope you have a good day
SO well said 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Thanks so much for your sharing your thoughts on the show. If there were more open-minded people like you on the internet, the world would be a much better place 🙌🏼 Keep doing what you’re doing and I hope you had a great day too ☺️
You’re quick haha! I changed the family channel to hidden just yesterday so I can still keep all of those precious memories, but they’re hidden from the internet. Maybe I’ll make them public again one day but not for now. Interestingly enough, the negative comments from the show continue to roll in and while I knew that in going on the show I was opening up my world to a new level of criticism (and was prepared for it), I’d like to shield my children from it as much as I can. For them it’s getting old (particularly Heidi). I’m still around though and would really like to come back to posting this year.
@@AshJackson that makes complete sense, do what is best for you guys, you could always do a new channel if you wanted to come back fresh at some point I wish u guys the best!
I am absolutely not abusing my child. That’s an extreme accusation that you should not throw around without knowing the full story. If you haven’t already, watch the entire video and you will see that Heidi is not miserable, nor exhausted and that her responses on TV were viewed out of context
Megan, I’m glad that you watching this family for one hour on tv, makes you think you know their whole daily life and think this kid is being abused. Wow... all I can say is, bless your heart!
@@janeandrew3376 Because you're asking me to admit that I am an abusive mother which I am not. I will not take on board advice from people who know nothing about my life lol. What a ludicrous thing to say. Maybe consider that before leaving another comment- you've left about 12 in the last hour alone.
What is the true reason you refuse to cut back on dance classes? Clearly she hates it let her try something new ! I don't understand the obsession if you like it so much maybe you should go instead and let her do something she actually enjoys ... Makes me think of that show Stage Moms smh
Because she loves it. Did you watch the video where Janine said that her reaction to dance in the show was not an accurate portrayal about how she feels about dancing as a whole? I’m sorry but how can you as a viewer feel that you know my child after seeing a 5 minute snapshot in a highly edited reality tv show? I understand that that is the point of the show but it gets on my nerves when viewers can be so hateful towards someone based on something which is not fact. Let’s consider the idea for a minute that you are way off base and that I’m a decent mother that cares about the well-being of her children, spend most of my time looking after them and their needs and constantly question and reassess whether I’m doing the right thing by them: wouldn’t that make you feel kinda bad for hitting out at me online over something which is not only untrue, but the complete opposite to reality? Do you not feel a little bit yuck that in this day and age, you’ve chosen to tear down a fellow woman without knowing all the facts? I’m lucky that this is not my first rodeo- I’ve been online long enough and dealt with enough of other peoples opinions that it does not really effect me or the way I see myself but I do like to call people out on it with the hope that it may encourage you to be more considerate in the future when speaking to someone else who may not have the knowledge and experience that I do. Shaking MY head
@@AshJackson she may love dancing, I mean who are we to say she doesn't but isn't 8 classes a week a bit much? I'm sure you could cut it back a little bit so she can do more during the week instead of just dancing
@@BabyGirl82045 It didnt say how long the classes were though did it? At that age Heidi was still doing three dance classes in one 45 minute session so its not really as bad as it looks.
I unsubscribed after that pathetic Wife Swap episode. If you or your hubby want to put yourselves out there on national television then that’s your prerogative. But I felt so sorry for your your poor kids. They are minors and are not able to properly consent to being on tv. Your excuses about family vlogging and then deciding to shove them in front of cameras on national TV is pure hypocrisy, and yes you did cross boundaries. What you did was a form of child exploitation just like those “scandalous” vloggers you mentioned about. Your kids (particularly your daughter) are going to grow up and remember things like this. I hope you re-evaluate your priorities and stop exploiting your kids.
You're entitled to your opinion but the kids were really excited about the prospect of taking part in the show and really loved the experience. No parent is perfect and every parent is different so if you make different choices for your children and your family then that is okay- and chances are that there are things that you do with your children which I would never do with mine. As mothers, we tend to take our roles very seriously (for a good reason) so when someone makes a different choice to one that we would make for our own families, it can be hard not to take offence. I've certainly had to pull myself up from time to time and question - "How does this affect ME?" before reacting to someone else's life decision and its made me a better person for doing so. What we DO need to be more cautious of, is spreading hate on the internet because that DOES affect others. In a world that is already dealing with so much sadness, fear and chaos, we all need to work to spread a little more love, support and positivity- especially for our fellow women and mothers. So while I can appreciate someone sharing their opinion, I do not condone women going out of their way to tear each other down. I hope you understand.
