Thank you kindly Alp! I’m doing very well currently, we’ll see how things are looking after chemo tomorrow but my doc reckons it should all be smooth sailing without too many intense side effects, so grateful to have folks like you around man!

William! As a person who works in medical field and does photography as sidejob and hobby, I'm deeply sorry for your diagnosis. I repurchased rb67 because of you and been enjoying your videos especially the one about 37mm fisheye. I don't even know you but I have huge respect to you as a photographer. I sincerely wish you well and thank you so much for everything. You really were and are motivation to all the photographers in the world.

What a calm and considered lo-fi story teller you are, as I am only a couple deep, so looking froward greatly to travelling through many more over the coming weeks. All the best William, I am 30 and had a painful lump come up last year, I had already been going through some other unexplained health issues at the time and was sent for an ultrasound and luckily was given the all clear but just the process and those thoughts going through your head of what IF its cancer was enough to really cripple me so huge respect to you for staying strong through your experience and being able to talk about it. much love and good wishes!

Just came across your channel. Hope the best for you mate. One of my good friends also had testicular cancer and it was pretty mentally tough for him. Through a lot of meditation and prayer, he is definitely in the best place of his life now cancer free. I hope the same for you! Stay strong man.

Get well soon! My best friend (who's also from Cape Town) got testicular cancer at 25 and he's now 40 and perfectly healthy. Good luck with the chemo and come back to us when you've recovered.

I really appreciate that! Most I can hope for is to get a photo or two out there on occasion that gets someone excited to go out and make stuff too haha! Plus geeking out about cameras is always fun too lol! I felt it important to share for just that reason, bad things can happen to anyone so it’s worth trying to stay on top of it if possible! This video is a very strong personal statement; thank you very much for sharing! I remember I was scared of this type cancer when I was young myself. I'm most grateful I was spared at the time. Anyway, I think men who allow themselves to be vulnerable ought to be given loads of love!

I'm sorry to hear about the diagnosis, brother. I know testicular cancer has a very high survival rate and from what you say, you're past the worst of it. Get through this and continue enjoying life to the fullest 🙏
Hope you are recovering and doing better. I've added another Hasselblad to my collection, a 553 with the PME51 metered prism finder. I don't have it in my hands yet but should have it by the end of the week. Haven't been using my RB67 at all and that is a shame. I feel that I may actually sell the ones I have if I can ever get over the horrible feelings I get whenever I sell off a camera. Again hope you are doing better. Have experience in the area myself! My doctor was quite humorous. He scheduled my surgery on December 31st and said you end this year with two, but enter the new year as a uniballer. My mother was in the room with me which made it quite humorous. Glad everything is going to be okay!

It feels weird saying it but this cancer better leave your testicles and never come again. It prolly was and prolly still is quite hard to process it and the whole procedure of getting rid of the cancer. But like you said it yourself, you have your family, your friends and your love maya. And all of us too, cheering and supporting you.

I haven’t cried in a while… it’s been years- and not to say this was “so sad” or what you’re going through is “so sad” but ummm… just the honesty and authenticity? Idk
We watch this RUclips channel because we’re film photographers and we love your work. I assume like me a lot of your subscribers are from the states and are enamored with beauty and how you photograph South Africa (and it’s very beautiful btw) but in watching your videos, it never felt like you were that far away. Your art and genuineness felt so accessible and attainable. It didn’t feel overly produced, but still beautiful nonetheless. All in all (and I can’t stress this enough) truly inspiring.
I can’t imagine the shock. I can’t imagine the process- this isn’t something I’ve ever experienced or been close to anyone who’s experienced this so I don’t want to pretend like I know what you’re going through, but I’m sorry you have to go through this type of pain.

My college roommate also had testicular cancer not long after we graduated. It took courage for him to share it with his friends as it did for you to make this video. He related how difficult the diagnostic biopsy procedure was because one of the nurses was a very attractive woman. I asked how he handled the situation and he said "well you tell a lot of jokes." He is 30 plus years on so have confidence and be of good cheer.
Ive been watching you for so long, even seen your appearance change throughout videos. Its surreal and youve even made a video on the rb67 fisheye which was basically the only informative video i could ever find for the lens. Hope you a recovery and would hate to see you be defeated. (I dont think you’ll be beat by cancer)
