U have to pass this in order to become an instructor?
You have to pass it at the shorter distances that I described. What I did was double the distance of each string to make it more challenging.
What’s the deal with seeing all the leg strap holster set ups?
They are not legal for most competitions, a good belt and and hanger/ holster combination will keep holster where you want it. Is it supposed to be some tacticool thing?
Valid question and fair observation. I never used a leg strap before until I got on with my current agency as a law enforcement officer. Wearing them on duty and off duty helps when you’re using the Safariland QLS system. The QLS positions the holster lower from the hip than normal, much lower than a traditional belt loop OWB holster. So that is why you see them on some and not with others. Definitely not a tacticool gadget, as skill is the only cool that matters. On another good observation you have. The leg strap might be a good indicator that the person does not participate in competitions, but rather competes in the real world on the streets confronting unlawful violence.
