  • After quite a few requests, at last I am here to show you how I do my vintage curl set! I don't do my vintage curls very often, not because it's very difficult or takes long to do, but just because I'm too lazy. But when I do set my hair, it makes me feel like a 1940's movie star. An experience I highly recommend you try at least once!

    I have been seeing these kind of tutorials a lot to achieve 1940s hair, so I guess I finally have to buy some foam rollers to try it out myself.

    I love watching people's curling routines! I totally want to try this out. I can't wait for my hair to get a little longer so I can have waves like these.

      😂 it’s actually water most of the time. But when I do have tea it’s usually rose petal, camomile, or English breakfast tea.

    I found your channel by accidentally clicking on a comment you made over Cathy Hay's video! As a fellow 17 year old ( if I did the math correctly from your Q&A) this channel makes me so happy and motivated for all my sewing projects. I'll try the curls, though they tend to fail with my far too long hair :)

      That’s so wonderful! Thank you for the support, I truly appreciate it! Yes I am 17 years old. It’s actually funny how many people find me through my comments on videos from creators like Rachel Maksy, Bernadette Banner, Cathy Hay... all those fellow costubers.

    Do you know if your hair is resistant to heat styling? Or anyone else who may have tried this? I love this look and have tried a billion times to recreate it but my hair won't stay if I heat style and this water method doesn't always last all day either, has anyone found an alternative that works?

    • @MirandaMilner
      @MirandaMilner  3 года назад +3

      This water method definitely gets much looser by the end of the day. There is a method I’ve seen where you make a gel with flax seeds. You apply some to each section before putting it up in the rollers. I haven’t tried it myself but it sounds like it would be worth trying.

    I have better results when I curl my hair after washing them and it is wet. I set it overnight and it is dry in the morning. So, with everyone it is a try and error until one can find the right way for themselves.

    • @MirandaMilner
      @MirandaMilner  3 года назад

      Absolutely. It just didn’t work for me so I had no basis to go recommending it. It’s incredibly disappointing to put in all the work to set your hair only to wake up and find that it didn’t even dry. What is your hair type? It may be useful for someone else reading this to see if the wet hair method is worth trying for them.

    Also, how many foam rollers do you need?

    • @MirandaMilner
      @MirandaMilner  Год назад +1

      Maybe between 10 and 20, but it depends on how thick your hair is, how well it takes curl, how well it dries and how big you want the curls to be. But I’d say I use somewhere around 15+ for my regular set.

    I wanted to try a 40s hairstyle for a long time, even got some foam rollers off the internet but all of the tutorials seemed too hard for me to follow, also my hair is really straight & thin, gets greasy easily and doesn't hold curl for a long time so I gave up. Recently I found a beautiful pic of a girl with 40s curls so I decided to try again and started looking for a decent tutorial. Found this one and decided to try it immediately. I was so happy when I woke up, took the foam rollers off and saw beautiful curls 😍 Then did some brushing and the result definitely wasn't perfect, but resembled a 40s hairstyle very much! I can't believe I found a method that works for me! Thank you so much for this vid ❤️
