    I was trying to guess which of the alternate methods you would use. You can also gather on the card and then appliqué down without removing the card. When you clip the back just snip a line across and pull the circle out, and stuff as well, if you only snip a line, you make a ladder st to close the slit.
    Another alternate is to cut the Circe of felt or wadding, and gather the top circle on that, no need to remove anything at all. Great skill building examples.

    • @k3n.clothtales
      @k3n.clothtales  4 месяца назад

      I have tried leaving the card in until it's stitched down but I didn't like it so much. Leaving the wadding in is ok but I quite like the process of stuffing it in afterwards. 😁 Many ways to achieve the same effect, and up to individual taste which you prefer. ❤️

    I used to go to Wimbledon with school friends as a teenager in the 70s. We had no money so we’d queue up from early morning for a Ground Pass. One year we were thrilled to discover that Bjorn Borg was playing on one of the outside courts (I was a little bit in love with Bjorn Borg 😉). During a break in play , a guy tried to sell us a plastic cup that Bjorn had allegedly drunk from. Nobody took him up on this unique opportunity 😂

    I have both a Wimbledon and a bobby’s helmet story.
    My high school did a trip to Wimbledon in, I think, 1984. We didn’t have show court tickets, but somebody found a nook near court 1 where we could just see one end of the court where Jimmy Connors was playing. I fairly quickly got bored of that, found a sunny patch of grass and spent the rest of the time reading. The cost of strawberries and cream was eye watering to my northern brain.
    Quite a few years later was my sister’s hen night in Liverpool. Her friend had done a list of tasks for her to do, including getting a photo wearing a bobby’s helmet. So, there was a couple of policemen outside the Cavern. My sister made a beeline towards them, and one them had removed his helmet and was holding it out to her before she reached them. Obviously not the first time 😸

      Oh yes I remember working out one year that strawberries were about 40p each. Goodness knows what they cost these days. Funny about the Liverpool bobby ♥️

    Picking up this trapunto to stitch into my Monday journal in place of the Mandala. I’ve been wanting to do this and in conjunction with abbreviated time to apply to the mandal, I’m opting for this wonky Wednesday and so far I’m super really truly enjoying the appliqué of my little circle and letting my mind rest. The mandala sings to me with the colors and the patterns, I adore mandala so much, but like the crazy patch it will have to get bumped to the back end somewhere !
