The story of how Till became a pyromaniac.... 🔥 Erm... pyrotechnician.🎆

I found this on the Internet:
"The song 'Hilf Mir' ('Help Me') refers to the collection of instructive stories of the XIX century 'Der Struwwelpeter', where a little girl plays with matches and burns to death. At the end of the song there is a gloomy wordplay with the phrase: "loves, does not love": 'Das Feuer liebt mich / Das Feuer liebt mich nicht' ("Fire loves me, fire does not love me"). And “The song "Hilf Mir" is based on Heinrich Hoffman's fairy tale "Die gar traurige Geschichte mit dem Feuerzeug" about a stupid Paulinchen who did not listen to warnings from two cats. But the stories of the lyrical hero of the song, that the girls from the fairy tale teach that matches are not a toy for children.”

The Sad Tale of the Match-Box (English translation by Mark Twain)
      Paulinchen was alone at home,
The parents they down-town did roam.
as she now through the room did spring,
All light of heart and soul a-wing,
she saw wherewith one strikes a light.
      "Oho," says she. "My hopes awake;
Ah what a plaything these will make!
I'll rake them on the wall, h'oo!
As oft I've seen my Mother do."
And Mintz and Mountz, the catties,
      Lift up their little patties,
      They threaten with their pawses:
      "It's against the lawses!
      Me-yow! Me-yo! Me-yow! Me-yo!
You'll burn yourself to ashes, O!"
      Paulinchen heard the catties not,
The match did burn both bright and hot,
      It crackled gaily, sputtered free,
as you it in the picture see.
Paulinchen waltzed and whirled and spun,
Near mad with joy for what she'd done.
Still Mintz and Mountz, the catties,
      Lift up their little patties,
      They threaten with their pawses:
      "It is against the lawses!
      Me-yow! Me-yo! Me-yow! Me-yo!
Drop it or you are ashes, O!"
But ah, the flame it caught her clothes,
      Her apron, too; and higher rose;
Her hand is burnt, her hair's afire,
      Consumed is that child entire.
And Mintz and Mountz wild crying,
The while the child was frying,
"Come quick!" they said. "O Sire.
      Your darling child's afire!
      Me-yow! Me-yo! Me-yow! Me-yo!
She's cinders, soot, and ashes, O!"
Consumed is all, so sweet and fair,
The total child, both flesh and hair,
a pile of ashes, two small shoes,
Is all that's left, and they're no use.
And Mintz and Mountz sit sighing,
      With breaking hearts and crying,
      "Me-yow! Me-yo! Me-yow! Me-yo!
How could we let the parents know!"
      While round that ash-pile glowing
In brooks their tears keep flowing.

I like interpretation this guy. Everyone says it about that or else, but he interpreted song as he feels, I like this, Rammstein more that everyone understands their songs, you can interpret that you feel, that you think

As sad as it is, it's about a child who has a pyromania dissorder, therefore the line: Whenever I'm alone (cuz he's afraid of someone finding out about his love for fire) I'm always drawn to fire. The part: Why is the sun round, is a bit confusing, but looking through his eyes, fire doesn't burn that "round" way, it burns up and in waves somewhat... but the sun still burns, he knows as much. Now, for the last part, he's been burned up and rises from the ashes to the sun again... he's a phoenix! :D Just kidding, sorry. No, he is burned alive, and dies, sees the light, which reminds him of sun, and in the final moments he thinks: The fire loves me, because he loves the fire. but notice how Tills vocals sounded like it "comes from within him, the voice inside of a head" that says: The fire loves me not...perhaps its like the daisy thing, she loves me, she loves me not, as Rammstein always uses some love methaphors in their songs... and as well, at the end he clearly screams Help me!

    *Translation into English:*
    *
I was all alone at home
Both of my parents were out
There before me I suddenly saw
a little box, nice to look at
    .
Oh, I said, how pretty and nice
That must be a splendid toy
    I strike a match
    Like mother often did
    .
    Every time that I’m alone
    I’m pulled to the fire
    Why is the sun round
    Why don’t I get healthy
    .
It reaches for me, I don’t resist
Jumps with claws to my face
It bites hard, it pains me a lot
    I jump around the room
    .
Oh no, the flame touches my dress
My jacket burns, it glows far
My hand burns, my hair burns
In fact my whole body is burning
    .
    Every time that I’m alone
    I’m pulled to the fire
    Why is the sun round
    Why don’t I get healthy -
    The fire loves me
    Help me
    The fire loves me not
    The fire loves me
    .
    I have been totally burned
    Everything is burned completely
    From the ashes, all alone
I climb up to the sunshine
    The fire loves me
    The fire loves me not
    .
    Help me

Mark Twain hat den Struwwelpeter halt ins englische überstetzt, ohne den Verlust der enthaltenen Poesie...
