Most importantly in the third part of the song you have her friend talk about how she is the most beautiful person on earth - if you look at her with your heart instead of with your eyes. The reveal of "she is very beautiful" being the very last three words of the song.
The theme of the text in Morgenstern resembles an old swedish folk song, where an old fisherman describes his old lady as terribly ugly, but end his song by singing the opposite: "Still, I think she´s beautiful".
9:53 Till has stage fright. He uses different techniques to overcome this. He will often sing with his eyes closed or pick an object or point in the venue to focus on as he sings. This becomes more obvious on the slower songs when he is having to sing properly. In the early days of Rammstein he wore slit view polar expedition goggles, it became one of his trademark looks
Flake didn't have a treadmill at the time. During the show, he still rode a Segway across the stage. At a later concert he accidentally ran over Till and injured him. After that they forbade Flake to move on stage. This song has my favorite word creation from Till. He turns the word Angesicht (face) into Ungesicht (unface) just by replacing the first letter.
As a Brit, I'm so grateful that I was at the Arene de Nimes to see the gig in the south of France. A stunning night - warm weather, friendly locals and a marvellous spectacle. I was overjoyed to see that it was being recorded.
This songs lyrics are based on one of the many poems Till has wrote. Translation of the original poem Hasslich- meaning Ugly Oh, because no one can see Under my hideous face Beats a beautiful heart Oh, woe, take my wild fury from The flesh-sea of my greedy lust The ship has still not traveled Oh God, touch me! Spit your heavenly cascade Over my enchanted visage Then for you I would pray Oh God, make me beautiful! I would oil the Bible and lick the flies on the cross Feasting upon the filth of angels I would gift my soul to you For a little grace on my visage So that I may use it for my lust So that I may seduce the enchanting The lovely nymphs Who only look upon their equals Give me this - and forgive me, because - I want it all
Till, at the time this was recorded, had pretty intense stage fright and made every effort to minimize eye contact with the audience. He would often look out and upward over the audience, or he would look downward. I think his stage fright has dissipated over the years. Love, love, love your reactions, Ken!!
When you first noticed Flake he was looking to his right and he started to laugh. Then you see Paul and he is laughing. They are both looking at Till. I wish I could have seen what till was doing. Also, that box in front of Till is a pedestal, that he will sometimes stand on, and it houses a retractable mike stand. I do believe…
The text has been written some 25 years ago by Till himself and is one of Rammsteins best songs. Trust me, whatever this is, he needs no monitor for the lyrics.
this is Nîmes roman arena in south France, so you were almost right with your idea of Coliseum ^^ Thanks for your specific observation of this one ! I come often here for your analysis, and above all for this band and some others I love
Saw them at Brixton Academy (London) on this tour, by far the smallest venue I'd ever get to see them play. Everytime I've seen them since has been in some massive arena so this was pretty special for me.
Völkerball (German for "Dodgeball") Was recorden in Les Arènes de Nîmes, France, 23 July 2005. It is a Roman amphitheatre, situated in the French city of Nîmes. Built around 70 CE, shortly after the Colosseum of Rome, it is one of the best-preserved Roman amphitheatres in the world. Several groups has recorder their concerts in that theatre. Metallicas Français pour une nuit (English: French for One Night) is one of them.
Morningstar is an Old Testament name for Lucifer (I am NOT saying they're into Satan, Morningstar is also a New Testament name for Jesus - so there) & one article I've read posits the interpretation that the song is about a woman who feels/is told she is so ugly that she despairs and asks Lucifer to make her beautiful so that she can come out of hiding/isolation and into the light of day/a new day or life. It also ties in with a poem Till wrote that mentions praying to God for beauty. I personally feel like the song is also a commentary on the societal standards of beauty, Rammstein do frequently utilize multiple meaning in their songs. One reason I love 'em! It certainly wouldn't be the only time they've commented on society's standards on beauty; Zick Zack for instance, & possibly why they covered Kraftwerk's Das Modell. P.S. The whistle in Engel is actually Paul and Richard, the rhythm and lead guitarists, whistling.
Amazing song ❤ I think I never clicked so fast on a video when I got a notification 😂 Loved your reaction to "Ich tu dir weh" and I'm curious to find out what's your opinion on "Morgenstern" 🤟🏻 One of my favourite Rammstein songs ❤ So let's go and watch your video 👍🏻
Shivers every time... I've seen rammstein a few times. It always feels like some kind of religious experience, some kind of epiphany... We took my son in law to a show in Manchester England... Post show he couldn't speak for an hour... He just looked stunned on the way back home in the car... The greatest show on earth...
No shade, truly, but I can't help but giggle every time an English speaker pronounces "Flake" like it rhymes with "cake". 😂 Just fyi, it's pronounced more like (the English equivalent of) "flock-eh" - the "a" in "Flake" is an "ah" (not "ay") and the "e" at the end isn't silent in German. Don't even get me started on people pronouncing Richard's last name like it rhymes with "crust", lmaooooo. K, my idiosyncratic hyperfixation is sated now. 😅 Thanks for a generous reaction to a moving song! Much love for Rammstein! ❤
I love this song very much cause i means every time i hear it, that Till wrots it for me ! Because i'm ugli, since i was a little kid i feel i'm not beautiful and my fav day time was every night cause i feel very well in this time ! Now i'm old and ugli also fat ! Greatings and love from germany ♥️♥️🥰♥️♥️🥰♥️♥️
In response to your comments about Til's box by his feet, This is An earlier concert. Til is very shy and it in his early concerts he would wear special glasses with suits in them so he didn't see the crowd. So hes not really looking at lyrics hes closing his eyes.
Like many have already stated, the mask is from the Du Hast music video, also in this show (not sure we can see her in this video), a girl was wearing the same Snow White dress as in their Sonne music video.
This box where he stands on, is called ego box, it ist just to stand on to boost your height and ego, also there are equipment like light, smoke and stuff like this inside. As far as i know. It is a pretty common thing for bands.
Very good there is a second voice doubling for till during this whole song I'm guessing either a backing track or Richard is providing the backing vocals but thank you for reacting to this song because this is a very underrated great song
It starts with: "Sie ist hässlich, dass es graut..." (She is ugly, that it's get dark...) and end's with: "Sie ist wunderschön!" (She is so beautyfull). What else to say?
Its pronounced Flak-uh not like a corn flake! The mask is from Du Hast , def not phantom of the opera! You asked why Paul always laughing? They have so much fun on stage!!
I understand that this is most likely a bad level of vocals from a professional point of view :D Till has flaws in singing and it's obvious. For example here 12:13, but one cannot but agree that the vocal melody in the chorus still sounds pretty nice
@Nunpho Why? A lot of reactors just listen to music and speak after. Or make at least 2-3 stops during the video. That is fine by me. But imagine, can you enjoy any song, if you will stop it every 10 seconds?
@@deefo I'd understand that if you only wanted to listen to the song. One of the channels I follow rewinds a little after every stop so that she doesn't miss anything. I think that's a good compromise.

OG SHOEGAZER!!!!
Man imagine if he didnt have stage fright, how would that change his preformances?
Flake (6:19) and Paul (7:05) were laughing, because Till was supposed to sing a part, but he didn't 😂🤟🏻 Love this part of the video ❤
Loved seeing Paul laughing!! 😂😂
Paul always goofs around and laughs, from the very first video clips we have. He is such a ray of sunshine.
The mask is from the du hast video....and the whistle tone in Engel was Richard (guitarist) actually whistling.
Flake didn't have a treadmill at the time. During the show, he still rode a Segway across the stage. At a later concert he accidentally ran over Till and injured him. After that they forbade Flake to move on stage.

Rammstein is what happens when opera has a baby with heavy metal. It's a love child! ❤

It's a Rammstein Christmas in April! More gifts please! :)

Also in the end he sings about seeing her with his heart noticing that she really beautiful.

Great reaction thanks
A Rammstein Christmas for Easter, love it!

Super nice reaction! ❤ thank you for that ! Greetings from germany
4:31 this mask is something that appears in the music video of "Du Hast", which is their most famous song
No shade, truly, but I can't help but giggle every time an English speaker pronounces "Flake" like it rhymes with "cake". 😂

Rammstein is Poetry
The piano version will showcase Tils voice with just a piano and him. It gives me chills and tears everytime I watch it.
The mask is the kind of mask used for Rammstein's members in the official video of Du hast.
I love this song very much cause i means every time i hear it, that Till wrots it for me ! Because i'm ugli, since i was a little kid i feel i'm not beautiful and my fav day time was every night cause i feel very well in this time ! Now i'm old and ugli also fat ! This concert took place at the arenas of Nimes in 2005 in France
In response to your comments about Til's box by his feet, This is An earlier concert. Til is very shy and it in his early concerts he would wear special glasses with suits in them so he didn't see the crowd. So hes not really looking at lyrics hes closing his eyes.

Week before Christmas🤔 But why not: it's Rammstein-Time❣
Fun Fact: "Morgenstern" can also translated to the weapon "flail"
MORGENSTERN erscheine >.< Auf mein Antlitz MEINE >.< Wirf ein warmes Licht >.< auf mein Ungesicht 🥺
sag mir ich bin nicht alleine >.
Very good there is a second voice doubling for till during this whole song I'm guessing either a backing track or Richard is providing the backing vocals but thank you for reacting to this song because this is a very underrated great song
This is the Arena of Nimes in France 2005
Its in France and the Show is from 2005
The mask is from the official video of the song Du Hast.
The mask of this guy is the one from the studio video from "Du hast"
It's the mask from the video of "Du hast". The whole band wears masks like that in the video.
Fifth attempt. Rainbow - Stargazer reaction. You won't be disappointed 🤘
Please react to the song Stein um Stein from Live Conzert Völkerball
In this concert you can see guay with the Du Hast mask and Girls in snow White disguise from Sonne video
I think the mask the guy wears in the crowd resembles the masks the band is waering in the official "Du Hast" video.
The concert was in a arena in Nimes in France ✌️
Have you seen the Video „Zeit“ from Rammstein?
the show is in nimes - france.
4:33 the official video from the song du hast, so Rammstein members of wear the same mask as in the dude and the audience
The mask is from the Du Hast video!!
Rock god status achieved right there!
Arena in Nimes. Yes, it IS roman.
The mask is from the video of Du hast.
It starts with: "Sie ist hässlich, dass es graut..." (She is ugly, that it's get dark...) and end's with: "Sie ist wunderschön!" (She is so beautyfull). What else to say?
Maske from video "DU HAST".
Morgenstern is the German word for morning star, but also for a medieval spiked club.
That mask looks like the mask they wear in the official Du Hast music video. Not the live one. I'm pretty sure he doesn't use a teleprompter either.
VolkerBall is People Ball
The masque.... it is obviously a reminder of the Phantom of the Opera. Right?
Pretty sure the mask is from the Du Hast music video
Marry Christmas ! lol
2003, Nîmes, France.
You should make a reaction video to "Cem Adrian - Summertime". I guarantee you won't regret it.
Please do mein herz brennt piano version. I believe you will be pleased. Please Please
Really need some reactions to Bruce Dickinsons solo stuff, specifically tears of the dragon, live with Tribuzy would be great 🤘🏼
Its a roman arena in nice, France.
Sorry my mistake. Nimes in France
I subscribed
Thanks Pixie! Glad to have here :)
👍❤
Its pronounced Flak-uh not like a corn flake!
The mask is from Du Hast , def not phantom of the opera!
You asked why Paul always laughing? They have so much fun on stage!!
morgenstern - lichtbringer - lucifer
it is not pronounced flake but fla-ke fla as in flak ke as in ken
Please do reaction to Santiago wellerman
Stein um stein please😊
bro...there is no effect on the microphone, his voice sounds like that😂
Watch bucksttabu
Please react to jairo
RIP Oliver.R🙏
I understand that this is most likely a bad level of vocals from a professional point of view :D Till has flaws in singing and it's obvious. For example here 12:13, but one cannot but agree that the vocal melody in the chorus still sounds pretty nice
Flak-uh not flake
Interrupting the refrain because of a mask in the crowd. Jesus…
7:06 he's laughing because of the flake keyboard play, they were looking at each other that moment :)
no they both look at till because he forgot his lyrics. dont comment if you have no fucking clue what you are talking about
I love this song so much but i can't stand when reactors stops every 5 seconds, it's ruining all the vibe
Then dont watch reactors and stick to the original video.
@Nunpho Why? A lot of reactors just listen to music and speak after. Or make at least 2-3 stops during the video. That is fine by me.
But imagine, can you enjoy any song, if you will stop it every 10 seconds?
I hate it too, they pause in the best parts
@@deefo I'd understand that if you only wanted to listen to the song. One of the channels I follow rewinds a little after every stop so that she doesn't miss anything. I think that's a good compromise.
For tha mask you would have to watch the music video "Du hast"
