Wow!!! That lumber yard was build by my grandfather Al Spaventa. I would go up with him every Wednesday to help him work on the layout for whatever project we were working on that week. Those buildings took so much time and effort but he got it done. He was a very active member of the club. He had the biggest display case and was the treasurer for a long time. It’s so amazing to see that they have it all up and have our name up proudly. My grandfather was very proud of his work up there and would be so happy to see that they continued his legacy with that.
This layout is sooooo epic! I have seen videos before but Ben and Jim have done a phenomenal job and creating an awesome video documentary!!! The drone shots mixed in with Jim’s awesome narrative! Such a gem of the train 🚂 hobby! Thanks and Cheers 🥂
Amazing, the work and love and passion that went into that is unbelievable. And I'm sick to think of the work that is going to be done to move and rebuild.
Dear Ben, beautiful layout, beautiful vid! Love the narration and explanations while moving around the layout. Very cool to see how the underground subway deck is designed and constructed. Will be some kind of a project to move this layout. Hope these guys will indeed find the space they need to honor their great work in model railroading. Cheerio
Thank you, Ben, and Mr. Jim! It was on my bucket list to see this layout and meet the members and this video is the next best thing. While the layout is amazing, it's the members that makes this layout great and I have no doubt that their next layout will be even more impressive. I hope they find a way to have the World Trade Center buildings in their new layout. Thank you again!
Ben, you did a bang up job recording this incredible layout!! This video is OUTSTANDING!! You preserved history with this video. Great job my friend! Tom
You need a drone to fly over these platforms to get a really great view from above! Awesome. Thanks for sharing. Oops never mind. I see your drone shots now. Cool.
Wow! WOW!!! Absolutely incredible! The staging yard under the layout is genius. Thank you so much for the tour. What a treat. I wish them all good things in their move into their new home. What a labor of love.
Thank you, Ben and Greg, for showing such an outstanding layout! I live in an apartment so; this definitely presents a good argument for my train number issues. "Big Ups 👍form Chicago "Train Dawg"!
WOW! Awesome!!! 🤩 I’m out here in Northern California and wish I could attend your last show at that location on February 16th. Will you be streaming it live or at least post a video?
Beautiful video guys I’m so sorry you have to move… I can’t imagine the cost that’s going to be involved but when you love trains as much as you do it’ll be worth it to find another place and I wish you so much luck… There is an O scale layout inside a church in Stamford Connecticut that’s been there for 50 years I just hope they never have to move!!!
I visited this layout several times over the past 10-15 years and was even invited by a club member to accompany him underneath when I had asked some technical questions about how they did certain things with their wiring and scenery. (Hoping for some tips for my own layout.) This video is great, but you really had to be there in Paterson in order to experience the layout's immensity. I was very sad when I heard they were being forced out of their building and that the new location will be significantly smaller but when they're ready for a public showing, I'll be there...wherever it is.
That is a awesome video. I watched the whole thing. The oil finery blows my mind even like the twin towers and the hidden staging yard. Wow! 40 ft. They have amazing layout. I have a buddy on tick tock who is a member there. Pat, your video is amazing. My question is how they keep it all clean? And thank you for sharing. This video gives me a lot of ideas
Nice layout, but Jim needs an external mic 🎤! 😃 🤔 My bad! I usually listen to my videos with over ear headphones with one ear listening, the other ear to hear the wife. Then I covered both ears. When I had both ears listening, I heard the Jim the club guy much better! 👍
A very nice layout... It's just a shame that I will never get to see the layout in It's present form... What is the reason that they are having to move?
I have a practice layout in my apartment that is 14x8 to get ready for when we build our new warehouse, gonna have a 40x20 layout in a mezzanine above a bay and thought it is going to be big. That will be nothing compared to this.
15:40 that makes no sense that stairs lead to nothing. Should have at least continued the stairs through and up to SOME kind of side walk or idk what, that's so jarring
Part 2 coming soon!!
Thank-you Mr Ben and Mr Jim for the extraordinary layout tour 👍🏻✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️
We are glad you enjoyed it!
This hands down is the all time best. This is freaking incredible wowwwwwwwww
YO BEN, YOU AND JIM DID A SPECTACULAR JOB!!! THIS NEEDS TO BE ON THE HISTORY CHANNEL OR THE DISCOVEY NETWORK. CONGRATS BRUTHAS!! 😉😊😂😂👍👍👍
That would be a massive undertaking to move this display. It’s a beautiful display. A lot of love went into it.
One thing I regret is not being the millionaire that purchased the building. One thing I will do is make time to help rebuild with the new location! 🙏
Awesome channel great video keep them up make sure you like and subscribe thank you for your support
Extraordinary phenomenal layout thank you Mr for the amazing tour of this massive super detailed layout very extraordinary guy's 👍🏻✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️
Thanks, I really appreciate the kind words! 🙏🏽
Great video, I couldn’t imagine having to tear that all down to move it

I never thought I'd see a more fantastic layout than at the Carnegie Science Center till now. Tip of the spear right here.
Thank you for the awesome video Ben. I saw my train in the staging yard( Union Pacific SD70ACE)when you were under there. Hope to see you next time.

Thanks Ben, for the wonderful tour of this amazing layout I lived in Paterson for many years and never had the opportunity to visit
Glad I could capture this for ya!
HA! "Your knees'll be fine, if I can make it, you can make it..." lol...
Great job fellas! Hope the rebuild goes well!

This is the best video I’ve seen of this layout. Hopefully I can make it over Feb 16. I’d hate to have not gotten to see this!

Great video Ben!
That is fun!
Ben I enjoy your videos. Your real Bro

Unbelievable!
This layout has always been an adrenaline rush. Good luck in their relocation

Keeping the dust off is challenging. I cleared a bunch of dust from the layout when I flew the drone over it lol

I'm left speechless........
Incredible layout love, everything about it.Especially the twin towers.
OK I wasn't expecting the WTC........ o_O
Thanks for sharing it's a shame that they have to move. I hope that they get another bldg.
A very nice layout... It's just a shame that I will never get to see the layout in It's present form... What is the reason that they are having to move?
Curious how they reach trains that derail in the center of the layout not accessed from underneath
Access hatches built throughout the entire layout, they also have a long pole like tool that allows them to reach far in to the layout as well.
Are you going back during a show?
Unfortunately , I will not be back during the show in February
