Salamu Alaykum, what confuses me a great deal is when people such as ustath taymiyah narrate the magnitude of Ahlul bayt, and the virtue of Ahlul bayt, and the mandatory respect, love, and Salawat we must give ahlul bayt, but does not mention that Fatima died furious with Abu Bakir, and that Umar and other Sahaba had to force Ali out of his home to give baya’a (allegiance) to Abu Bakir. I am asking sincerely, can someone explain to me the Sunni perspective on how Fatima, the greatest woman in Jannah, could wrongly ask for her fathers inheritance, and when rejected by Abu bakir, seclude herself and die furious with him? (42:23) Instead they justify allegiance and devotion to the enemies of the Holy Prophet and his purified family. The Ahlulbayt are the purest of the pure and Allah (swt) prevented ALL impurity from them. Allahs (swt) singled them out from other pure ones from the Qur’an by making them the purest of the pure (arabic thathiraqum thathira): Allah only intends to keep ˹the causes of˺ evil away from you and make you the purest of the pure completely, O members of the ˹Prophet’s˺ family! (33:33) They, the likes of Abu Sufian, Mauwiyya, Amr bin Aas, Omar bin Saad.... have had many followers and disciples through the ages and even to this day. They have deceived many but this is only temporary because truth always prevails against falsehood. Take note of Allah ta'alas reassurance to the Holy Prophet (sws) and don't be among those who scheme against Allah for you will curse yourselves and be losers in this world and in the hereafter. Allah ta’ala tells the Holy Prophet what they did in the past and says they are still planning against Him but He is the best of planners: And [remember, O Muḥammad], when those who disbelieved plotted against you to restrain you or kill you or evict you . When you mention the names of the members of Ehlul Bait عليهم الصلاة و السلام do NOT say radiallahu anh, instead you should say عليهم اسلام, because in tashahhud you don't say radiallah anh !

For clarification, 1) Shias do not accuse Aisha of Zina, 2) The chest beating occurs to feel the pain of the hooves of the horses on the chest of Hussain (as). As far as whipping and bleeding this for some shia is haraam for some it is allowed. Mourning is the Sunnah of the Prophet (AS) when he mourned over Hamza and called the women of Madina to mourn. Aisha even mourned by hitting herself according to Sunni historian Ahmad ibn Hanbal when the Prophet passed. 3) Muawiyah paved the way for the killing of Hussain when he appointed Yazid as caliph and broke his treaty with Hassan, Muawiyah’s army killed Ammar bin Yassir of whom the Prophet said he would be killed by transgressors. How can rightly guided fight rightly guided when Aisha fights Ali or Muawiyah fights Ali? 4) The hadith mentioned in the clip - this hadith is not proof against beating the chest on the day of ‘Ashura while mourning over the sufferings of Imam al-Husayn (as) and the other awliya’ of Allah, because in this case beating the chest is a deed which is meant to show homage and paying tribute. It is done to show reverence to the religion and as a manifestation of love for the Ahl al-Bayt. This sorrow and grief is in no way a display of discontentment with Allah’s decree. Such grief, in fact, is in one aspect exhibition of intense sorrow over the failure of Muslims to support Imam al-Husayn (as) in his struggle to keep alive Allah’s law and decree.
Aslamulaikum, Ume Aisha ra did hit herself according to that hadith but it's still not permissible to hit yourself many of the companians were not in there right senses after our prophets ﷺdeath even rejecting the death or became paralysed or died, she was not fully in her senses overcome by distress this is akin to someone not being in full sanity.
There's nothing wrong with mourning only if it's for 3 days since someone dies and 4 months and 10 days if husband dies.. It is incorrect to mourn the loss of the deceased after three days of the death of the deceased.

What puzzles me is that for the followers of Ibn Taymiyyah's SIRA, both al-Hussain ibn Ali and Yazid ibn Mu'awiya are mentioned with Radhi Allahu Anhu (May Allah be pleased with him). All the unspeakable atrocities of the Umayyads are played down by the Wahhabis. And the suffering of the Ahl Bayt in Karbala is reduced to a minor crime by the Wahhabis. This ambivalence at best, and hypocrisy at worst, puts the Shiites in an awkward position. They don't want the Umayyad atrocities in Karbala and later the desecration of the Prophet's city of Medina and the holy Ka'ba to be forgotten like the day of al-Ghadir. The way they commemorate the martyrdom of Al-Hussain, his family and his companions may be a bit exaggerated for the Wahhabis, but these ceremonies are necessary to remind Muslims of the pagan intentions of the children of Abu Sufiyan, the arch-enemy of our beloved Prophet (peace be upon him and his progeny).
It's pretty obvious why they exalt the position of Yazid. They have this idea that the sahaba were ma3soom yet they do not admit it. Yazid by consensus by shii, and sunni historians was the man who massacred al hussein as. This causes a problem for the sunni as Yazid was appointed by his father, a sahaba, and so they pretty much hide this issue and never discuss it

The Wahhabis in the other hand have difficulty proving that some prominent idol-worshipping sahabas with dubious charachters and intentions were simply good people. In many places in the Holy Qur'an we find the word "hypocrites" applied to people directly associated with our Prophet (peace be upon him and his progeny). Shia do not have exclusive rights to ahl al bayt . In fact they have erred tremendously from the original ‘shia’ so much so one would argue they created a completely new religion.
There is literally a consensus among shia scholars that A’isha didn’t commit zina. Shaykh al-Hilli even says they’re infallible when it comes to the issue of zina.

If the respect toward ahlol bayt is important we need to know who are they. Just google who are ahlal bayt? According to the verse 33 of Sura al-Ahzab, the purification refers to ahlal bayt. This shows who not just need to be respect but also can be chose as a good role model as they purified by Allah.

There's a hadith in Sahih Bukhari that when son of Prophet ﷺ, Ibrahim r.a. died he was taking him in his hands again and again and weeping. Seeing this Abdurrahman ibn Awf asked him, do you cry as well Prophet ﷺ? He replied: This is mercy. Then again he started shedding tears and said: The heart grieves and the eyes shed tears and we don't say anything that displeases Allah. O Ibrahim we are deeply sad by your departure. So we got to know that even in death of someone beloved we are not supposed to say and do things that displeases Allah, as for grief, it's only human to be aggrieved.. there's nothing wrong in that. What u do and say regarding it is what matters. Prophet ﷺ didn't do matam or anything even in death of his son. And he also said not to show grief after 3 days of death. And he said as reported in Tirmidhi al Hussain o minni wa ana minal Hussain. (Hussian is from me and I'm from Hussain) So on his death how can we do something that Prophet ﷺ didn't do on death of his own son or go against his teachings that we don't do or say that displeases Allah. As matam is Prohibed by Allah so we can't do that. As in hadith of Bukhari Prophet ﷺ said: Beating cheeks, tearing clothes, harming one own self are practices from zamana e jahiliyat. Also in surah Baqarah 2:155 Allah says "We will for sure test you with fear, hunger, loss in life and property, crops (source of income). Then in next verse 156 Allah further says , and those who'll say after that Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi rajioon (Surely we come from Allah and to him is our return) (and don't say/do things that displeases allah) are the people on whom there'll mercy and are on right path.

Approach of this speaker is commendable however, this is what we find: The month in which God delivered the Israelites from Pharaoh was Abib (i.e. Rajab), as the Bible clearly says: “Observe the month of Abib, and keep the Passover unto the Lord thy God: for in the month of Abib the Lord thy God brought thee forth out of Egypt by night.” Abib is the 7th month of the Jewish calendar coinciding with the month of Rajab. The question is: How could the Jews transfer an event of Abib (originally coinciding with Rajab) to Muharram, in open defiance of their Torah? Secondly, why would Jews fast in accordance to what is clearly Muslim calendar? Did they believe in Muslim first month of Muharram and not their own calendars 7th month? The Hadith of two weighty things according to ahlul Sunnah school was referring to Quran and Prophetic Sunnah. Apparently sheikh has ceded to the fact of the Hadith being Quran and Ahlul bayt, the latter being the true Hadith Thaqalayn. The truth of the murder of Al Hussain AS was that it was a genocide perpetrated by the Umayyads against the Ahlulbayt with the sole purpose of eradicating the message of the Prophet. Yazeed was openly a disbeliever and his command to slaughter the prophets family without mercy even for children and new born babies, women or the sick was aimed at finishing the prophets lineage and thereby his message. Thank you brother for the lecture, but there are few points that you mentioned which I had to search which was not historically correct 1st of which is the fasting of the month of Muharram, my research shows that it is only recommended to fast on the 1st and on the 3rd and on the 7th Day of Muharram 2nd point is that the prophet does not makeup Islamic rules, rather he only speaks all gives rulings to Islam only when Allah allows him to do so 3rd point is that the prophets or the Jews doing a practise and the prophet said that we are closer to Moussa than they are and decided to do this practise, this point goes against the second point mentioned that he does not bring about Islamic rulings through desire. 4th point is that the prophet lived in Madina and amongst the Jews of Medina for 10 years and according to historical accounts that this story happened on the 9th year before the prophets passing. Logically that does not make any sense how can the profits live amongst people for 9 years and he never noticed it till a year before he passes. 5th point that the prophet never mentioned to do a majlisg for ahlulbait. I asked you what did the prophet do when Hamza the uncle of the prophet got killed? Did he not ask the Muslims to come together and make a majlis for his uncle and ask them to cry for hamza (as) 6th point is that you made some point toward the Shia which are completely not true, may Allah forgive us all. End of the hadith in (Sahih Muslim 2408) - Zaid Ibn Arqam who is narrating the Hadith makes clear who the prophets family (Ahlul Bayt) are - He (Husain) said to Zaid: Who are the members of his household? Aren't his wives the members of his family? Thereupon he said: His wives are the members of his family (but here) the members of his family are those for whom acceptance of Zakat is forbidden. And he said: Who are they? Thereupon he said: 'Ali and the offspring of 'Ali, 'Aqil and the offspring of 'Aqil and the offspring of Ja'far and the offspring of 'Abbas. Husain said: These are those for whom the acceptance of Zakat is forbidden. Zaid said: Yes.

The term Ahl bayt is also meant the wives of the prophet. See the Quran. سلام عليكم أهل البيت. إنما يريد الله ليذهب عنكم الرجس أهل البيت. هل أدلكم علي أهل بيت. Ahl bayt is wife but you may include children while they live in the household.
The story of Musa (as) is not true. It was not on this day, that hadith is very weak . Unfortunately you still chose to use it. As Caliph Ali Ibn Abi Taleb repeatedly forewarned the Umma about the misguided hypocrite Muawiya….Muawiya himself claimed the abrogation of many of the Prophet’s Sunna (sawa)….but this shameless excuse is technically irrelevant since Muawiya himself instigated this major fitna that caused the killing of thousands of people no matter what they identified as (Muslim or not). I am not very knowledgeable about the history of the four caliphs after our Prophet, but what I do as a Muslim is not to investigate the sins of my Muslim brothers, and instead of holding a grudge against them for their sins, I ask God's forgiveness for them. It is not our place to make comparisons, especially about the companions. Allah will judge everyone on the day of judgment.

What injustice against the Holy Prophet (sws) when Allah ta’ala commanded unconditional love for his near relatives; did they forget:
O Prophet, say, "I do not ask you for a reward for this [message] except for unconditional love to my near relatives." (42:23)
Instead they justify allegiance and devotion to the enemies of the Holy Prophet and his purified family.
The Ahlulbayt are the purest of the pure and Allah (swt) prevented ALL impurity from them. Allahs (swt) singled them out from other pure ones from the Qur’an by making them the purest of the pure (arabic thathiraqum thathira): Allah only intends to keep ˹the causes of˺ evil away from you and make you the purest of the pure completely, O members of the ˹Prophet’s˺ family! (33:33)
They, the likes of Abu Sufian, Mauwiyya, Amr bin Aas, Omar bin Saad.... have had many followers and disciples through the ages and even to this day. They have deceived many but this is only temporary because truth always prevails against falsehood. Take note of Allah ta'alas reassurance to the Holy Prophet (sws) and don't be among those who scheme against Allah for you will curse yourselves and be losers in this world and in the hereafter. Allah ta’ala tells the Holy Prophet what they did in the past and says they are still planning against Him but He is the best of planners:

1) Shias do not accuse Aisha of Zina,
2) The chest beating occurs to feel the pain of the hooves of the horses on the chest of Hussain (as). As far as whipping and bleeding this for some shia is haraam for some it is allowed. Mourning is the Sunnah of the Prophet (AS) when he mourned over Hamza and called the women of Madina to mourn. Aisha even mourned by hitting herself according to Sunni historian Ahmad ibn Hanbal when the Prophet passed.
3) Muawiyah paved the way for the killing of Hussain when he appointed Yazid as caliph and broke his treaty with Hassan, Muawiyah’s army killed Ammar bin Yassir of whom the Prophet said he would be killed by transgressors. How can rightly guided fight rightly guided when Aisha fights Ali or Muawiyah fights Ali?
4) The hadith mentioned in the clip - this hadith is not proof against beating the chest on the day of ‘Ashura while mourning over the sufferings of Imam al-Husayn (as) and the other awliya’ of Allah, because in this case beating the chest is a deed which is meant to show homage and paying tribute. It is done to show reverence to the religion and as a manifestation of love for the Ahl al-Bayt.
This sorrow and grief is in no way a display of discontentment with Allah’s decree. Such grief, in fact, is in one aspect exhibition of intense sorrow over the failure of Muslims to support Imam al-Husayn (as) in his struggle to keep alive Allah’s law and decree.

There's nothing wrong with mourning only if it's for 3 days since someone dies and 4 months and 10 days if husband dies.. It is incorrect to mourn the loss of the deceased after three days of the death of the deceased.

What puzzles me is that for the followers of Ibn Taymiyyah's SIRA, both al-Hussain ibn Ali and Yazid ibn Mu'awiya are mentioned with Radhi Allahu Anhu (May Allah be pleased with him). All the unspeakable atrocities of the Umayyads are played down by the Wahhabis. And the suffering of the Ahl Bayt in Karbala is reduced to a minor crime by the Wahhabis. This ambivalence at best, and hypocrisy at worst, puts the Shiites in an awkward position. They don't want the Umayyad atrocities in Karbala and later the desecration of the Prophet's city of Medina and the holy Ka'ba to be forgotten like the day of al-Ghadir. The way they commemorate the martyrdom of Al-Hussain, his family and his companions may be a bit exaggerated for the Wahhabis, but these ceremonies are necessary to remind Muslims of the pagan intentions of the children of Abu Sufiyan, the arch-enemy of our beloved Prophet (peace be upon him and his progeny).
It's pretty obvious why they exalt the position of Yazid. They have this idea that the sahaba were ma3soom yet they do not admit it. Yazid by consensus by shii, and sunni historians was the man who massacred al hussein as. This causes a problem for the sunni as Yazid was appointed by his father, a sahaba, and so they pretty much hide this issue and never discuss it

If the respect toward ahlol bayt is important we need to know who are they. Just google who are ahlal bayt?
According to the verse 33 of Sura al-Ahzab, the purification refers to ahlal bayt. This shows who not just need to be respect but also can be chose as a good role model as they purified by Allah.

The correct Salaf position is that we leave judgement to Allah what transpired in that period of Fitnah. Because on both sides were virtuous companions of the Prophet S.a.w, We don't condemn any one of them or slander any of them like the Shia do.
We withhold our tongue and keep silent from passing judgement.
There's a hadith in Sahih Bukhari that when son of Prophet ﷺ, Ibrahim r.a. died he was taking him in his hands again and again and weeping. Seeing this Abdurrahman ibn Awf asked him, do you cry as well Prophet ﷺ?
He replied: This is mercy. Then again he started shedding tears and said: The heart grieves and the eyes shed tears and we don't say anything that displeases Allah. O Ibrahim we are deeply sad by your departure.
So we got to know that even in death of someone beloved we are not supposed to say and do things that displeases Allah, as for grief, it's only human to be aggrieved.. there's nothing wrong in that. What u do and say regarding it is what matters.
Prophet ﷺ didn't do matam or anything even in death of his son.
And he also said not to show grief after 3 days of death.
And he said as reported in Tirmidhi al Hussain o minni wa ana minal Hussain. (Hussian is from me and I'm from Hussain)
So on his death how can we do something that Prophet ﷺ didn't do on death of his own son or go against his teachings that we don't do or say that displeases Allah.
As matam is Prohibed by Allah so we can't do that.
As in hadith of Bukhari Prophet ﷺ said: Beating cheeks, tearing clothes, harming one own self are practices from zamana e jahiliyat.
Also in surah Baqarah 2:155 Allah says "We will for sure test you with fear, hunger, loss in life and property, crops (source of income).
Then in next verse 156 Allah further says , and those who'll say after that Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi rajioon (Surely we come from Allah and to him is our return) (and don't say/do things that displeases allah) are the people on whom there'll mercy and are on right path.
Remember how Jacob cried for Yusuf whii was believed to be dead. If prophet Jacob can weep, so can our human hearts. The prophet Muhammad (sawaw) wept because he is human. Would you not weep if you heard about oppressed people plight.

Barakallahu feekum ustadh, may Allah add it to your scale of good deeds. A lot of people (like in Somali culture) claim to be from ahlul bayt, how do we know if it’s true?
Once a sister told me people who are truly from ahlul bayt never goes around making that claim. They keep that to themselves.
Approach of this speaker is commendable however, this is what we find:
The month in which God delivered the Israelites from Pharaoh was Abib (i.e. Rajab), as the Bible clearly says: “Observe the month of Abib, and keep the Passover unto the Lord thy God: for in the month of Abib the Lord thy God brought thee forth out of Egypt by night.” Abib is the 7th month of the Jewish calendar coinciding with the month of Rajab.
The question is: How could the Jews transfer an event of Abib (originally coinciding with Rajab) to Muharram, in open defiance of their Torah? Secondly, why would Jews fast in accordance to what is clearly Muslim calendar? Did they believe in Muslim first month of Muharram and not their own calendars 7th month?
The Hadith of two weighty things according to ahlul Sunnah school was referring to Quran and Prophetic Sunnah. Apparently sheikh has ceded to the fact of the Hadith being Quran and Ahlul bayt, the latter being the true Hadith Thaqalayn.
The truth of the murder of Al Hussain AS was that it was a genocide perpetrated by the Umayyads against the Ahlulbayt with the sole purpose of eradicating the message of the Prophet. Yazeed was openly a disbeliever and his command to slaughter the prophets family without mercy even for children and new born babies, women or the sick was aimed at finishing the prophets lineage and thereby his message. Thus this event marks a pivotal moment in Islam. If mourners stopped mourning then muslims would forget Ashura as they have Ghadeer. Mourning for the tragedy of Al Hussain AS is quotes in these tests.. can the sheikh also clarify these instead of harping on one a one stringed guitar of the prophet prohibiting crying

Thank you brother for the lecture, but there are few points that you mentioned which I had to search which was not historically correct
1st of which is the fasting of the month of Muharram, my research shows that it is only recommended to fast on the 1st and on the 3rd and on the 7th Day of Muharram
2nd point is that the prophet does not makeup Islamic rules, rather he only speaks all gives rulings to Islam only when Allah allows him to do so
3rd point is that the prophets or the Jews doing a practise and the prophet said that we are closer to Moussa than they are and decided to do this practise, this point goes against the second point mentioned that he does not bring about Islamic rulings through desire.
4th point is that the prophet lived in Madina and amongst the Jews of Medina for 10 years and according to historical accounts that this story happened on the 9th year before the prophets passing.
Logically that does not make any sense how can the profits live amongst people for 9 years and he never noticed it till a year before he passes.
5th point that the prophet never mentioned to do a majlisg for ahlulbait. I asked you what did the prophet do when Hamza the uncle of the prophet got killed? Did he not ask the Muslims to come together and make a majlis for his uncle and ask them to cry for hamza (as)
6th point is that you made some point toward the Shia which are completely not true, may Allah forgive us all.
Is that shia curse Aisha and say she committed zina.. I don't believe any school in Islam, shia are or not shia can come forth and say that she has committed zina.
No muslim say that any of the prophets wives has committed zina, if they do so they are not from Islam.

Thereupon he said: His wives are the members of his family (but here) the members of his family are those for whom acceptance of Zakat is forbidden. And he said: Who are they? Thereupon he said: 'Ali and the offspring of 'Ali, 'Aqil and the offspring of 'Aqil and the offspring of Ja'far and the offspring of 'Abbas. Husain said: These are those for whom the acceptance of Zakat is forbidden. Zaid said: Yes.

The story of Musa (as) is not true. It was not on this day, that hadith is very weak . Unfortunately you still chose to use it. Ustadh, i have much regard for you, despite my difference in opinion on a theological level.
The prophet sawa got this from observing people on earth (regardless of Jew or Christian or anything) contradicts the prophet. He only speaks of religion and shariah from God, not from himself. Accepting this hadith assumes that he made up the religion as we went, and that he is not perfect, and if he isnt perfect then the Qur'an isn't perfect
