    Nice! The steering wheels on these are really sad from the factory. It's like holding an old dried out garden hose.

      Haha that’s true. This fixes that problem and then some. Definitely a quality product.

    How was the heated steering wheel control with it? Could you still feel it?

    Thanks for the vid! I have been looking for something that fits my 2024 Silverado. Will give this a try but not sure if the perforated grip is needed.

      Anytime, happy to help! The perforated had a softer feel. I liked that a lot.

    What color is your wheel leather, black or gray? Im trying to decide what matches my Xterra interior best and I cant get a good feel for the colors based on the website swatches. Id hate to dump the money and time on one of these only to find my wheel stands out like a sore thumb....

    • @TheBlueGarage
      @TheBlueGarage  11 месяцев назад

      It’s a very dark gray, almost black.

      It was holding up great up until this time last year. I traded the truck in for a ZR2 in September 2023.

    did the tape and the prying tool came with the package or do you have to buy your own?

    • @TheBlueGarage
      @TheBlueGarage  Год назад

      Just the tape, I had my own interior tool kit already.

    How did you start and finsh the thread? I’m wanting to mine but curious as to how to start it and tie it off. With out having a big sloppy knot.

    • @TheBlueGarage
      @TheBlueGarage  Год назад

      I just tied a few basic or simple knots, nothing fancy. However, we are a about 10 months after installation and my stitching needs redone in one spot. Easy fix though, and they provide a ton of thread to redo it all multiple times (worst case scenario).

    How have the materials held up to sweat and oils from your hands? Did the wrap add a noticeable thickness to the steering wheel?

    • @TheBlueGarage
      @TheBlueGarage  Год назад

      Everything has held up perfectly. It does add a noticeable thickness. It is more substantial and makes it feel like a higher quality than factory.

  • @5thGen_Corey
    @5thGen_Corey Год назад

    Bro how on Earth did you install it 😒😂 I bought one of these covers and spent 6 hours trying to stitch it up and ended up ripping it all off and calling an upholstery shop to do it professionally haha. I’m decent at DIY stuff and I couldn’t it one bit

    • @TheBlueGarage
      @TheBlueGarage  Год назад +1

      Dude you’re the king of DIY. Look at your interior. I thought this was a tedious project, just took a lot of patience. Tucking the spare fabric was the toughest part for me. The stitching took time and practice. Had to do it a few times to figure out the pattern I liked.

    • @5thGen_Corey
      @5thGen_Corey Год назад

      @@TheBlueGarage hahaha well apparently YOU’RE the king because you got me on this one 😂 I uninstalled my steering wheel and disassembled every last piece on it to make the install easy and clean. Nope. Didn’t work. It took me forever how to figure out how to even stitch it up in the first place and then it seemed like no matter what I did it wouldn’t line up properly. There’s about 25% of me that thinks that cover legit won’t fit my wheel lol but I guess I’ll have to take it to the pros and find out for sure😂 maybe that’s why I haven’t seen any other Ram guys with one of them yet lol. And to be fair to the brand, it’s not East Detailing’s product. I mean it’s essentially the exact same thing, but East Detailing doesn’t offer it for Rams and another popular Chinese company does - so mine is the Chinese one. It’s entirely possible their measurements are wrong and it in fact doesn’t fit my wheel haha who knows. It also doesn’t have the cut outs for the buttons of the back of the wheel but I didn’t fuss over that because I figured it’s a quick fix with a razor blade 😅

    • @TheBlueGarage
      @TheBlueGarage  Год назад

      @@5thGen_Corey I am willing to bet that the measurements are off then. I have seen all of your work, and if you went as far as removing and disassembling the entire steering wheel, then I am confident it is the product and not you.
