Stuff like this is why i love black cars. I mean yes they get dirty easy and show every imperfection to the wold but you just can't beat how good they look when cleaned
You guys should sell a “black car” wash and detail package. All the products together in a “set”. Instead of buying buckets,, cleaning mits, tire brushes, car wash, tire cleaner, shine, etc. Together, all in one big set, or multiple sets in different price ranges. I would def buy..
I like the Blacklight product. You keep referring to it as a glaze though, yet the bottle says "Hybrid Radiant Finish". I have a lot of CG products but find the most annoying thing about them, and CG in general, is the verbose over-explanation and catchy phrasing. Keep it simple and let the products speak for themselves. My .02
I highly agree I think we as consumers have to realize they are always trying and expecting to sale mostly to gen public and specifically lots of folks with no experience so they give details over the top. For those of us who have a decent understanding of the chemicals and their purpose it’s a bit much . However I will say this after their vids I typically have no questions so maybe that’s the point 😅

I just purchased a black mustang 3 months ago. How would you recommend keeping it looking fresh. If i wash my car today it'd be filthy when dirt and tree sap within two to three days. I really would like to wash it twice a week to keep it fresh but feel like that's a little much. Also not sure if there's a ceramic

Hey Shaun! Check out Diablo Wheel Cleaner Gel to safely clean all wheel and tire types. - CG Nick www.chemicalguys.com/diablo-gel-oxygen-infused-foam-wheel-and-rim-cleaner/diablo-wheel-gel.html
Bought a new Silverado High Country and it's black how can I make sure that it never gets full of scratches and swirl marks it's a SOB of a color to take care of??? Your video is great do you have any other tips please and products to use I live in Canada??
Hey Mark! Absolutely, apply HydroSlick after washing, clay and and polish(if necessary). If desired it can be layered with glaze and was for added shine and protection. - CG Nick
I have a 2005 Cadillac DTS that is black and the exterior has never been properly detailed, I live in the Chicago area and is subjected to all kinds of conditions so its has the scratches water spots etc any suggestions on what products I would need to kind of restore the shine?
Can I use black light for my wheels? I have new hostile sprockets with a deep black gloss finish and noticed very tiny micro scratches. Will that product be sufficient enough for protection?
Hi Anthony! Black Light is a glaze that masks minor swirls and scratches with some sealant properties. It can be used as a final polish to jewel paintwork but it has no cut/abrasives. - CG Nick
In detailing this GT350, I saw no reference to the rear deck lid which is a glossy black plastic. Is Butter Wet Wax safe to use on that surface? I know not to use it on the textured plastic, i.e. front spoiler, mirror mounts and grille surround. But, what about polished black plastic? Some do's and don'ts videos would be helpful. Thanks.
Hey, thanks for watching. It's true that if you apply a wax, you run the risk of residue being left on the deck lid, I would use something like a wate based dressing like V.R.P. or the tire and trim gel.
Hey Bobby! Thanks for tuning in, we know how difficult it can be to keep a black car looking clean. Yes, this kit is great for maintaining a swirl free finish.
Thanks for your reply, what you have said about getting my own machine and supplies from you guys is what I have been thinking of doing, so I think I will have to get some bits a peices from you guys and cross my fingers toes and everything else and have a go at fixing it myself. Only possible problem might be that my clear coat has been thined out to much. Just a bit worried I might cut it back to much.
Hey there SpeedwayV8. It may be a good idea to go to a body shop and have them measure the thickness of the paint. The only other way to polish without removing too much clear coat is to either to use the lightest polishing pad and polish combination, or using a cleaner wax like Slick Finish, or Wet Mirror Finish. The only way to apply more clear coat is to sand the original and apply new clear coat, let that dry and polish. It might be good to get some perspective from a paint protection professional if you think the clear coat is at risk. C.G. Alex -
From far away cars always look clean. But if u know ur car well or get up close to most cars, ull always find slight issues that after a while u get annoyed and just want it to be washed. Because its black, a little dirt accumulation looks worse up close and for someone who cares about their car (which by the looks of this one, the owner does) this is something hard to ignore. Though, this isnt really a great video to show how effective their products r since any product could restore this to proper glory tbh.
So if I am a beginner at this and have a corvette stingray which is black, where should I start? With the Black Car Kit or something else???? I love your videos by the way....
Hey! Nick applied Butter Wet Wax after. Check out the link down below. www.chemicalguys.com/butter-wet-wax-warm-and-deep-carnauba-shine/butter-wet-wax.html
Hi Johny, how's it going? In this video, Nick uses Hybrid V7 Quick Detailer as a drying aid. Hybrid V7 breaks the surface tension between the paint and the water drops so it won't leave water spots. Thanks for watching, Johny, and don't forget to stop by the website for our special Memorial Day Sale!
@Chemical Guys Can Black Light be used on a bright Red car? or is there something similar that would be better for bright Red?...also, can I use this with the Cherry Wet Wax which I always use. Love that stuff. Thank you 👍😊
Hello, how's it going? This kit is perfect for black and dark colored paintwork. The Black Car Kit contains all the premium cleansers, gloss enhancers, wax, applicators, and towels needed to clean, enhance, and protect black cars without scratching the finish. Thanks for watching and stay tuned for more videos coming your way soon!
It less about the psi and more about the flow rate, gpm (gallon per min). The recommendation most often given is around 2 gallon per min or so minimum. Other option is to get a 1.1 mm orifice insert for the foam cannon if you have a pressure washer already and it is low flow, eg. 1.2 gpm.
So I have a black suv but I’m stuck on deciding between the two so which Would be better? Black wax or the butter wax? I would say black wax but CG keeps using the butter wax on black cars when I look up their videos lol
Hi Scott! Black wax is a specialty wax that will take you black paint to the next level. It goes on super easy and comes off super easy. Black Wax is only for black vehicles. Butter Wet Wax is also a good wax that works great on all colored vehicles. I personally drive a black truck and my favorite is Black Wax. Thanks for watching and thanks for being part of the Chemical Guys family!
Hi Nick, when it comes to the detailing flow chart, you should definitely apply a wax because wax is an extra level of protection, and people love the shine. Blacklight is amazing because it fills in minor scratches and swirls, and it does contain sealant. Blacklight doesn't last as long as a wax does, most glazes will wear off within a week or two. You don't have to apply waxes all the time, on average you get about three months of protection if the conditions are right. When all three are used together, they combine to create the best amount of shine, and protection to give your car that flawless look. Stay tuned Nick, more great videos are coming your way. C.G. Alex -
Hi, great question. We recommend polish to be applied by machine for best results and less effort/fatigue to make life easier on you, although you can very small areas by hand. Modern paint polishing compounds are not intended to be used by hand over large areas. Modern paint finishes are very hard and glossy, so hand polishing is seldom practical or effective. If you must polish a small isolated area by hand, apply 2-4 dots of polish to your hand polishing pad and work it into the area in alternating straight line and circular motions until the polish has turned clear or even disappears from the paintwork. Repeat until desired results are achieved, then follow up with a coat of sealant or wax to protect your newly-polished shine! Check out the video below to see a comparison of machine vs hand polishing. Thanks for watching and happy detailing! ruclips.net/video/S-0EFouIZMI/видео.html

i have a totally off topic question for you man. Which hair product do you use? You're moving and your hair aren't going anywhere. (this is not a troll question)
Hey Luis, thanks for watching. We do not offer detailing services at the Gardena location, however, we do offer everything you need to detail your car yourself and even offer weekly detailing classes to teach you how! Make sure to stop by and see us soon!
When you said on the part of waxing it” prepped by washing it “ does that mean you have to wash it again or the steps continue as the video goes. I Apologize for my way of understanding.
Hi Destiny, great question. Our pressure washer is a gas operated unit with a PSI of 2800, and a GPM of 2.3, so we recommend something similar. Choose a tried and true brand with a warranty for security and peace of mind! Thanks for watching, Destiny, really glad to have you part of the Chemical Guys family! -CG Henry🤙
Hi Braulio, how's it going? We manufacture and sell all the products you will need to perform a full detail yourself from wash to wax and everything in between, but we do not offer detailing services ourselves. If you ever have any questions on which product to buy or how to use any of our products, you can always contact us by email, phone, or even on Facebook messenger. Thanks for being a part of the CG family!
Chemical Guys I’m aware of all of that! I actually have some of your stuff coming in today. But, if you don’t offer detailing services, what about all the cars in these videos? Is there anyway I can take my vehicle to the detail garage?
The cars in the videos are for instructional purposes only. If you have any questions on how to address a specific problem area of your car, you can bring your car to a Detail Garage and a CG employee would be more than happy to go out and look and your car and help you decide which product would be best for the situation at hand!
Hi Ricardo, thanks for watching this awesome video. The black car care Kit costs $94.99, it would probably take you roughly two hours to do everything. You would get 6-8 weeks of protection from the Butter Wet Wax, and about a month of coverage on the Glaze. Washing with the soap could take you between 40-hour to get the surface dust cleaned off. Applying coatings will take ten mins, followed by 15 mins of cure time. Be ready to spend a few hours getting everything done, detailing is a process.
Awesome job of that Black Mustang you have done, I only wish I could get the same results on my metalic Black/Grey 2008 VE SSV Chevy Wagon. I noticed one of your youtube video's you did a Black Chevy Wagon like mine. I only wish I could do the same Awesome job on mine that you do, I have swirl marks and holograms on my paint job which a car dealer put on my paint job when he detailed my car he recked it.
First of all, thank you for watching our video, and sharing your story with us. That's terrible to hear, I would've taken the vehicle back and demanded that the damage be taken care of at the behest of the car dealer. It maybe time to pick up a dual action polisher, our V line of polishes and compounds and take care of those scratches and holograms yourself. Chemical Guys is confident that you can restore your paint to unbelievable levels, what you see on this channel isn't magic. With a little patience, practice, and a fearless mindset; you too can have paint that glistens in the sun, and commands reverence. C.G. Alex -

When you apply Blacklight (only on the paint ), can you apply Jetseal afterwards everywhere, and then butterwet wax everywhere as well ? ;-) Just to be sure ^^
KZU Gaming other way around. Jet seal lasts about a year and black light 6 months. If you put jetseal on top of the glaze in 6 months when the glade disintegrates so will the jetseal
Thanks for watching this great video, We use a pressure washer with 2800 PSI, they're really reliable. Here's a link to one. Just remember not to stand too close when using it to rinse down your car. www.pressurewashersdirect.com/Generac-6922/p797.html?+bestaov+6922&Generac%206596%2F6922
Whenever I foam a car and I am going over it with the wash mit the soap seems to dry before I make it around the whole car and rinse it. Any tips? A lot of the time I have to wash in the sun because I do mobile detailing and I cant pick and choose when I wash a car btw so please dont tell me "Don't wash it in the sun". Thanks guys :)
Freedom Eagle As of right now I don't have a foam machine (would love one) but as like you I usually have to wash my car where the sun is shining, especially waiting for the leaves to grow back on trees. I'm not an expert, but what I do is wash my car by Section, soap and then rinse, and also keep running water over the entire car. Hope that helps :)
Just got a 2012 obsidian black ISF and love it when it’s shined up but dang it does t stay long !!! 😫😫😫🤣someone talk me outta wrapping it blue or white 🤣🤣
Hey! A leaf blower is not quite meant for detailing, so it may cause some problems like dust getting on your paint. Instead, try using a Metro Vac! www.chemicalguys.com/metro-wall-mount-vac-n-blow/VNB-4AFBR.html

What pressure washer would you guys recommend I buy?
Hi there! The brand is personal preference as long as it is capable of producing 1000-3500 PSI at a minimum of 1.4 GPM it will create a ton of foam.

Nice! I'll stop by after work!!
When you said on the part of waxing it” prepped by washing it “ does that mean you have to wash it again or the steps continue as the video goes. I Apologize for my way of understanding.
Hi there! Prepare the surface for polishing or coatings by washing and clay barring the paintwork.
Dream car
How much would this details cost I am very interested
can I buy that rolling cart used in the video
what is the name of the pressure washer that you use ?
Hi Destiny, great question. Our pressure washer is a gas operated unit with a PSI of 2800, and a GPM of 2.3, so we recommend something similar. Choose a tried and true brand with a warranty for security and peace of mind! Thanks for watching, Destiny, really glad to have you part of the Chemical Guys family! -CG Henry🤙
What is the purpose of the glaze?
Hey there! Glaze adds fillers that mask minor swirls and scratches while adding depth and gloss with some added protection.

how much do you guys charge for a full detail?
How long does it take to do this by yourself and by hand ?? Also how much does it cost? How long will the product last ?
Hi Ricardo, thanks for watching this awesome video. The black car care Kit costs $94.99, it would probably take you roughly two hours to do everything. You would get 6-8 weeks of protection from the Butter Wet Wax, and about a month of coverage on the Glaze. Washing with the soap could take you between 40-hour to get the surface dust cleaned off. Applying coatings will take ten mins, followed by 15 mins of cure time. Be ready to spend a few hours getting everything done, detailing is a process.
What about bugs that have been cooked into my bumper for a couple years?
Stoic Outrider clay bar?
With a little patience, practice, and a fearless mindset; you too can have paint that glistens in the sun, and commands reverence.

what DA machine did you use?
Their machines are Random Orbital, not true DA's but advertise them as such.

KZU Gaming you r correct according to chemical guys. First Blacklight glaze then jetseal and last Butter Butt Wax
Wash those cars in the background sheesh!
why are the wheels different.
what kind of pressure washer machine is that?
Thanks for watching this great video, We use a pressure washer with 2800 PSI, they're really reliable. Here's a link to one. Just remember not to stand too close when using it to rinse down your car.

How about a black Harley kit
He didn't clean the wheel wells....
Juan Morales yeah oh well.
@@HeyBigChriss 😅
Would these chemicals be safe on a ceramic coated black vehicle?

If I wash my car in the sun with jeans on will my car look like that?
No u have to wear a thong
Drying, I use a leaf blower.
Hey!
A leaf blower is not quite meant for detailing, so it may cause some problems like dust getting on your paint. Instead, try using a Metro Vac!

What spray did you use to dry the car after the wash
Hi James! This is Hybrid V7 Spray Sealant.
www.chemicalguys.com/hybrid-v07-optical-select-high-gloss-spray-sealant-and-quick-detail-spray/hybrid-v07-quick-detailer.html
Sorry, dumb question. Do you apply the V07 detail spray before (Like when you dried the car?) or after the blacklight and butter wet wax?
Hi Tyler, good question. Quick Detail Sprays should be applied as the very last step in a full detail, or inbetween full washes. Check out the link below to see a chart of all the steps in a full detail in their proper detail! Thanks for watching, Tyler, and stay tuned for more videos headed your way soon!
