IMHO, that was the problem with this 2006 movie. The director had Brandon Routh basically copy Christopher Reeve instead of creating a brand new refreshing take on Clark Kent/Superman. Brandon Routh's Clark Kent/Superman was like watching an SNL satirical skit of the dual characters. And Kevin Spacey's 'Lex Luthor' and his minion were just CHEESY, especially since when this movie came out, Michael Rosenbaum was flawlessly playing an awesome version of Lex Luthor on the TV show 'Smallville'.

Go for a weak spot with all living creatures. The eyes, throat or groin. That it doesnt work puts superman's abilities to an amazing level. Beautifully thought out scene

As a ten year old, this was my first major exposure to Superman. I'd always known about Superman but never showed much interest in him. But that bullet to the eye part made me realize just how "super" he really is. I wish there'd been more Brandon Routh movies, he played the part so well.

It's not a trilogy - it's 2 films and a rip off playing on the nostalgia of them because they didn't have the balls to start fresh until Nolan came along and made Batman Begins a huge success. Also it was Richard Donner at least as much as Reeve for the first 2 films - fired for Superman II or not a lot of the footage of the theatrical cut was still shot by him, and all of the original was him.
Man, I remember the day were in the cinema watching this epic eye bullet scene and how the entire audience roared into a huge cheer... Nostalgia is the best and worst thing at the same time.
I very loudly gasped in the theater when I recognized that scene. My wife heard me and said "Yeah, something cool just happened. You'll tell me later. "

I am in love with this actor as Superman. Like he is of course very handsome, but he also just gives off a vibe like he isn’t trying too hard. He’s just going about his day saving people and doing his job. Not being all broody about his responsibilities and trying to come across as deep. He’s a super hero who uses the powers he has and is a chill dude 🥰 did I mention he’s handsome? 😂💜

If we are to follow movie logic, Edward the vampire from Twilight Saga is stronger than Supe because his body is hard like diamonds. Steel vs diamond? Lol
I mean, "long, slow and boring" kinda equals to "bad". But I don't see how it was boring. There was a bigger showcase of his powers than in any other Superman movie. It had a ton of great action and some not annoying romance. It was far from bad.

With all the modern effects people just expected more action and fight scenes. I don't blame them, but looking back, there's something special about this movie. Just seeing him fly around gracefully, throwing waves and smiles at the people below. He's the type of Superman that will walk you out the bank you just tried to rob, hand you to the police and tell you "you can do better." It feels so classic

I've always loved how this Superman just gently floats up into the night sky. Both Henry Cavill and Tyler Hoechlin versions are always blasting off at supersonic speed, even after saving the day. I guess because it's easy cgi that doesn't require rigging or wire work, but I just really love how he says "Goodnight" and then silently glides into the air. Hoping James Gunn gives us some of this

First bullet had a tracer on it. It's common for only 1 out of 3 / 5 / 7 bullets to be tracers, otherwise it's a waste of money and also distracting to the gunner

The bullet falls at the rate gravity pulls it down though. If it had ricocheted off at high speeds, sure, that’d be impossible. But that’s not really what happened.

They over-did the boom's anyway. The first Iron Man did it right even though it was only once but since it only happened once it was more special.
@@eddieperez8111 they most certainly did not. The booms werent necessarily but each one was more impressive than the next. Also its more logical, how could you go that fast without making sonic booms?

I noticed the second and third bullet effect there was no light fire
First bullet had a tracer on it.
It's common for only 1 out of 3 / 5 / 7 bullets to be tracers, otherwise it's a waste of money and also distracting to the gunner
This movie really isn’t as bad as fans say it is.
I think it's funny how when the guy shoots him in the eye somehow he's fast enough to track the bullet as it bounces off superman's eyeball and down to the ground
The bullet falls at the rate gravity pulls it down though. If it had ricocheted off at high speeds, sure, that’d be impossible. But that’s not really what happened.
