I feel in love with these little cars when i was little watching Rally racing.. I would love to get my hands on a restored Mini like this. I've been watching a series on RUclips where some guys are making one of these 4WD.
what a wonderful work! it looks fantastic! wanted to visit your website but it did not work! anyhow keep on restoring this superb minis! greetings from Germany
You've probably already found out but you've fitted over sills instead of genuine sills. These don't create a proper box section and do not allow condensation to escape the sill leading to premature rusting.
Lovely job! Gimme! Shame the steering wheel is on the wrong side.... well, for me, anyway :). I wonder if gold Minilites would look better with that red?
It's a hobby of mine to restore Classic Minis, even though I have to make a living out of it but lets say that if I would have counted every hour I've spend on the car,I would have never been able to sell the car.
We first used seam sealer to prevent water entering in between panels and after priming we sprayed on a rubber type coating and then painted the underside.Underbody sealant was not used,no.
@@ronlems8934 I know the rubber type of coating as that can be used as an underbody sealant. Not sure how effective it is or how long it lasts as i've never used it on a car, but here in UK a car without any form of underbody sealant will start rusting after the first winter if being used on public roads (will last a bit longer if only a track car).
Alot of hard graft certainly went into this build. Vert well done 👏
Great restoration! I have a 1998 Mini Cooper MPi which I've restored over the last 5 years. Worth 7k. Love it!
De mooiste mini die ik ooit gezien heb! Ongelofelijk goed resultaat!

That's the only way to do it absolutely excellent
Great job! Would love to do this one day aswell!! :)
That's the way too do it! Top job..
My first car was a mini in 1982. Always loved it's shape, much more than the new mini, which isn't Mini at all, but rather maxi!
The mini must be the most iconic car in the worlds history !!! Nice rebuild of a world leader & i only live 3 miles from where it was built,,,peace.

Does that style of rotisserie make the shell heavy to turn? I am thinking of making one for myself.
Nice 👍
Amazing work. BL would be proud. i hope...
restauration sérieuse!!
Hi Ron! - absolutely beautiful job my friend! - is it still in good condition after 7 years? 👍🇬🇧
You've probably already found out but you've fitted over sills instead of genuine sills. These don't create a proper box section and do not allow condensation to escape the sill leading to premature rusting.
If you drill holes there's no problem. There's no condensation problem.
Das hast Du wirklich ganz toll gemacht! Wenn ich das mal auch so hin bekomme!?

Nice restoration but i'm wondering why after all that work......no underbody sealant?

Let's say it wasn't cheap but I'd rather not talk about prices on the internet.
It wasn't that much but if I would have written all the hours down it would probably have been that .
Hi. Where are you?
Salut my friend super car super video subscribe subscribe
£15000 is about average for a restoration
How much would a restoration like this cost?
Hard to say as it depends on the state of the Mini
nice work i would only have put the money of that carbon dash into rear disk brakes
Are nice indeed but don't see the point as brakes well enough but the major problem would be our MOT as they would refuse them.
You mean that they wouldnt allow disk brakes?
tychobk no,they don't allow
There are bolt on kits for disk brakes on a classic mini and i dont believe they dont allow better stopping power
tychobk well,as a matter of fact they don't allow.Why ? I don't know
Cool car. Video sucks. Music sucks even worse.
