Good luck with your move, Elliot. I grew up and spend a good part of my life in London, surely one of the world's great music hubs. About fifteen years ago, I moved to the Southwest of England, to a small town, I've made more music, written more songs, met more musicians, and been a damn sight happier here than I ever was in London. Obviously if I was a sideman, doing pit work or tours I'd need to be somewhere else, but even sessions can be done remotely nowadays. Follow your heart.
one thing i've learned is you truly don't have to be in a big city to engage in a vibrant musical community. basically all the main cities in NC have really cool scenes with amazing musicians (plus living here is cheaper than the big industry cities)
This is all very good advice for a fresh musician. As a seasoned one I definitely have my own opinions here. That being said, meeting you here was really special and I consider it one of the best things to happen to me in my Los Angeles life.
Woah Amsterdam! Cool! Congratulations, I am sure it'll be a fun adventure. :D Please share more about the move and your experience relocating to Europe. It's something my wife and I have talked about a number of times.
Good luck with the move! I wish there was a guide like this for Canadian musicians, but unfortunately we have much less music cities to choose from. Also its super cold here, LA sounds like a dream weather-wise. If it wasn't for the free healthcare....

Dude! Congrats on the upcoming move. I hope you have a blast and enjoy the change. I truly appreciate all the lessons and guidance.
Thanks! Here’s to hoping I don’t explode something when setting up the studio over there! Thank you for the support! :)
You should set up your blue room exactly how it is in LA, in your new Amsterdam place
May do a slightly darker shade
Good luck on the move dude!! Super insightful video, would’ve been super helpful to have seen this before I moved out to NY

Absolutely will do! It’ll be fun to capture the experience while it’s happening, really interested in seeing what musician life is like there
Looking forward to seeing whatever the new room is. I will really miss our hangouts!
Me too! And me too! Looking forward to seeing updates of your mad scientist experiments :)

I wonder if there’s a Toronto vs Vancouver video…
@@ElliottKleinguitar Not yet, but don't forget about Montreal! That's all we have pretty much (also Calgary for country music)
1:53 How about alt rock?
LA or surprisingly at this point Nashville
