Thanks for putting this together. At 42 years old my wife of 22 years passed away from Multiple Sclerosis. This was one of the last you tube video's we ever watched together as she laid bed ridden, waiting for her day to pass on. She cried and cried and so did I as we watched this video, knowing our love for each other was similar, but not knowing what the future held for either one of us or our children. Other than the fact we knew we could be together again, forever.
I lost my wife to cancer years ago. It is only a brief separation and then we will be together forever. This promise is why I want to live for all eternity.
"Other than the fact that we knew we could be together again, forever." I am a single guy who has escaped the notice of the female of the species in its entirety. (Not that it matters, but for what it's worth, also, I have a disability.) Given that state of affairs, there's no possible way I could understand what it feels like to lose someone I love as much as I'm sure you love your wife (even though the loss is only temporary). My brother might have an idea what you've gone through, though: A few years ago, he lost his wife of 26 years to cancer. She's one of the finest human beings I have ever known. If there were any justice in the world, I could have volunteered to go in her place, and I would have done so gladly. It goes without saying, but that's not, of course, how the world works: God has His Plan for each of us, even if we might wonder, at times, what it is or how it will be fulfilled, given mortality's innumerable vicissitudes. You probably feel that the day of your eventual reunion won't come soon enough or fast enough, but still, hold fast to hope for a glorious reunion (and the next time you see her, she will be Whole!) That's why the resurrection is one of my favorite principles of the Restored Gospel. To be absolutely, perfectly, crystal clear, I'm not complaining, and I'm not trying to "compare notes" with you or to play "Tribulation Poker" with you ("Hah! My royal flush beats your full house!"), but as a long-term bachelor in a family Church, I don't know exactly what my future holds, either. I do know, however, that there are no "second-class citizens" in the Kingdom of God, and I do know that if we're faithful, the Omnipotent, Omniscient, All-Loving Lord of the Universe won't have to tell any of us, "I know you were expecting something more, or something better, or at least something different, and I know this means that it sucks to be you, but ... sorry. This is the best I could do." Again, hold fast to that hope for a joyous reunion. You might not think it will come soon enough or fast enough, but it will come. All the best from a Brother in Christ. -Ken
Whenever I get overwhelmed with the worldly idea of “love” I watch this video and receive peace knowing that a relationship like that can one day be mine, whether in this life or the next, as I strive to become closer to my Savior, Jesus Christ.
It's amazing how quickly life can change. Before my mother-in-law was diagnosed with Parkinson's 13 yrs ago she took care of her husband. As the disease progressed we wondered how she would take care of my father-in-law with his failing health. He had a heart attack a few years later and after a triple by-pass he has come back to health, better than before. Now the roles have reversed and it is he that is taking care of her. Our lives can change in the blink of an eye. Let us love it.
My wife is a semi-invalid, with tremendous pain in her back and legs, and I am a diabetic with pain in my legs and feet and cannot sit or stand for long, so this video hits home. She takes care of me and I take care of her. I and my wife, Rurh, are LDS, and proud of it. Thank GOD for the truth! GOD bless to all!
I’m not Mormon. But this video got me in my feels and the tears started flowing 😭😭😭 I’m gonna hug my wife a little tighter today and be sweeter than yesterday.
One of my favorite LDS Church made videos. Pure love of Christ is free from political and racism propaganda, no pride and no prejudice. Even though the couples have no fame and ecclesiastical authority this stage of their lives, their heavenly love is more authoritative than many earthly powers . 💗
I was taken back by his genuine and selfless love and concern for his sweet wife. As I watched it through tears the thought came to me that I hope there are more couples in the world that show such pure and unselfish and loving care for a spouse that is unable to take care of herself because of serious health issues. Here he does it even with Parkinson's and smiles while he is doing it. I'm sure Heavenly Father is smiling down upon this precious son of His.
I love how even though a single word isnt spoken in the video, we can take so much from it. What stood out to me was that he never stopped trying. He never stopped trying to show his wife how much he cares and loves her and i think that should teach us that we should never stop trying whether its with love, a difficult task or trial. just my own thoughts and what i said in class a few weeks ago when i saw this video for the 74696 time already haha:)
Julius Obrino: It made me and my husband both cry. I feel so thankful. I do have a sweet husband like this. Prince charming looks like this. In fact, there are so many wonderful men in the world that I created a Pinterest board (page) called “
I am an atheist and regardless of this being by the Mormon channel I found this video to be very inspiring and touching and over all very tasteful and of a beautiful nature. This video really shows the capacity to love that people can have. This video was also a nice break from all of the god stuff and focused more on the thing that matters the most. Love.
Love is not only a feeling as Hollywood would portray. The strongest love can come from years of commitment, self-sacrifice, and a personal choice to serve the other. No matter the circumstances. We marry each other with the promise to love each other for better or for worse, and that is a choice we can make. Listen to her. Do things that make her happy. Give her the benefit of the doubt. So much more. I am getting married this summer, and I hope I can be this kind of husband for my sweetheart, even if years and years pass.
Yes. Marriage provides an ideal setting for overcoming self-fishness & self-centered. The couple in the video makes me believe in sacrifice love. This is the best video of love I have ever watched. I'm turned to tears.
I am not the kind of person to cry over videos or stories, no matter how invested. But this hit me. I am struggling with my engagement and my therapist sent me to this video. I don't know what this means for me, but I think it means vulnerability. There's never one pivotal change, and I'm just trying to be honest. But I love in the caption of the video how it is a service for each other. Both the husband and wife are putting all of their energy in to one another, even if we can't see it. Thank you. I am crying a lot; and I needed that.
I hope you continue to find the peace and happiness the gospel brings. There is a joy that can't be found anywhere else, no matter what others say. When you fight against something that is good, satan wants you to feel it is right, but there is no happiness when we don't help each other. So glad you are out of that too! Come back! It is so worth it!!
I was bawling my eyes out. The world today has destroyed the meaning of the word “love” and it is so morphed and twisted into evil. This video shows what every couple should do for each other. What every couple should strive to be like. Not arguing and crumbling to the ground over stupid things, taking advantage of the other, putting each other down…there’s just so much this world has come to and so many relationships don’t last. I love that no talking was involved in this. Actions speak so much louder than words and this sweet man was just trying his absolute hardest to make ends meet 😭 and he did it through the SMALL things. The pure things. This is what love should be, and I am lucky to be in a relationship that has this true meaning of love. I wish this kind of love upon every couple for one another and hope that one day everyone will realize how important it is in a successful marriage 🥹❤️
This touching video brought a smile to my face and a warm peace in my heart. I'm not married but seeing this sweet couple show love and dedication in spite of the challenges they're facing was the perfect thing to comfort me during some hard times I'm going through right now in my life. :)
This was a lot like my grandparents, and this morning my grandma died and I saw this after. This is reminds me of the movie "UP". And I am really mad at who ever disliked this video. Even though I'm mormon and should love everyone no matter what.
This is beautiful. It reminds me of my grandparents. My grandfather cared for my grandmother for many years until he wasn't strong enough. Then he moved her to a nursing home next to his home and spent several hours with her every day. I am grateful for his example of pure love in marriage.
We believe in being Christlike and selfless - and we believe in marriage. And, as the quote from Elder Scott at the end of the video states, we believe that marriage provides an excellent situation for men and women to learn to be Christlike and selfless.
Of course someone knew I needed this video at this particular moment. Not a week ago, and not a week from now. Exactly at this very point in time. How wonderful it is that my Heavenly Father watches over me and knows exactly what I need. Women, love your husbands too. Love them unconditionally, because there's absolutely nothing more important than you are to each other, no matter how important it may seem. I'm learning this right now and I wish I had sooner.
I know for a fact the lady in this video doesn't have anything wrong with her. She was my bishop's wife during my freshman year of college. She is an incredible person and is truly inspiring.
This. This is so sweet. This is the true aspect of what marriage and love should be like. Loving each other until the very end of this life and onto the next after we have died.
I came to watch this video as Shaycarl liked it and I wondered what it was. I am not a Mormon but I do respect all religions. This brought tears to my eyes, the kind of love you see in this video is what all love should be like.
Every time I Watch this episode I can`t stop weeping. It is so touching to see how these people love each other! And the husband is so devoted to his wife! This video reminds me that we have to cherish everything good we have in our life.
This was literally the first video I chose to watch after waking up at 5am. Talk about the best way to start your day. The rest of the world should throw away their coffee in the mornings and drink of the spirit instead. My heart feels healed.
I am sorry to hear that you are dealing with something similar in your life. I was born without a left hand and so i have a physical disability as well. This video's purpose isn't to tear down anyone, but to show how vital service and compassions is in a marriage. i just pray and hope that whoever i marry, he will love me despite my phsyical limitations as we serve and love each other regardless of our eathly trials.
Very strong and emotional video, my father took great care of my mother even though she was in a wheelchair almost all my life, took care of my sister and my bother and myself, but my mother was his greatest love of all. So seeing this video really touched my heart.
This is a beautiful display of love and made both my wife and myself cry. Thank you for producing such an emotion filled depiction of love. This is exactly the love I hope to have when we are older and now!
Amazing video, this is what you call true love. What myself and my husband go through has no comparison to this lovely couple. I just spoke to my husband after watching this video and said I will do better as a wife. Thanks to this video
In sickness and in health.... this is the most tender video I had seen in a long time. If ever there was a question of how a husband or wife should treat each other, nomatter what, they need to watch this video. Certainly tugs at the heart strings!
So many times in marriage we forget about the tough times. This is when the unconditional love that we need to have for our spouse is what should grow over the years. This has so much within this video, but how we serve each other is a defining moment in our lives that hopefully will replay time and time again. Remember, little things grow to big things. Make your love be worthy of our Heavenly Father's blessings.
That is what I would do for my wife if needed. Very touching. It shows we can overcome challenges with faith in our Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
It teach us all a lesson of what TRUE LOVE really is, and even the circumstances it cant last 4ever! The love of The Lord really dwells in their hearts! Teachs us whom we should always will be to our paramore and we should always will love to each other! :)
The Saviour does love you and in time you will learn to see and feel this love all around you. Be patient, don't give up ever! Sending you my best wishes from Canada.
wow, amazing and touching video, seriously guys i couldnt help let my first tear fall out by watching this, it was so incredible to see how the love between two human beings is much more powerful than any illness, I'm not a completely member of Mormon religion but im working and struggling with myself every day to be on the right path which i think is this, I've been so lost for long time until two Angels knocked my door two months ago, and i'm so glad that they came into my life..
this is heart-warming and wonderful to know that true love is forever in process within two people despite the circumstances..i am indeed grateful for the gospel..and especially the atonement..oh great is Eternal Love..
This video clip is just illustrating the love that could and should exist between a husband and wife. Both the man and the woman in this video clip are actors and have been in other church messages. This video message is to help teach the principle of unconditional love. It does pull at the heart strings but in a good way. When we love till the end like illustrated here there can be nothing short of a wonderful ending.
True Christianity teaches the real love that comes from God and this video among many others on Mormon Channel teaches one or more aspects of this love. This is why these videos are up on RUclips. Not just to remind other Mormons about the love of God but to spread the message to others outside the faith so they can find the same love and joy to enjoy the blessings that comes from His love.
You're absolutely right, this video has nothing to do with mormonism. In any marriage, regardless of religion, this type of LOVE should be the basis for all husband/wife relationship.
Gotta be honest, films, movies and books never had made me cry. But this one...really got to me! I'm crying to death xD it's so beautiful to watch love like this
I just listened to a program on The Mormon Channel featuring the director of this video. The actor portraying the husband really has Parkinson's disease, while the one portraying the wife has worked with stroke survivors enough to represent one accurately. As my husband and I also both have disabilities, this was very touching for me.
Far too many people understand what selfishness really is. They think it is not sharing your things, but it is so much more. It is sacrificing what we want, especially the worldly pleasures, for something of more worth. I agree marriage is the perfect place to practice this. Your spouse should be placed above all other pusuits.
All I have ever felt in the Mormon church was love and peace. Why would anyone be with groups that deal with hatred in their hearts. That does not feel like peace to me. I pray that there are more Christians out there, because quite frankly, there is enough evil and hard times in life. It just seems like the right thing to do, and it make you just feel better about yourself and life.
Love is love simple as that. We all need that one thing. It is a basic life need. So I say this with respect for all who read this comment: love without expecting anything in return and be the best you can be everyday. Be a good example to those around you, let your light shine, smile for no reason, be of good cheer. We choose how we start our day, either be in a good mood or not. I say be of good cheer, be happy. Be like Jesus.
I think there's a deeper metaphor in this video, in that our Savior and His Father love us as much as this husband did for his wife. No matter your physical or spiritual state, He is there in the Spirit, to love and guide you. I know what it's like to feel unlovable, but fall on your knees and let go... You'll find God there, I know it.
I'm a Seventh Day Adventist, and I love all these Mormon messages! I've been watching these videos all morning.
Sweet! If you ever wanna learn more check out mormon.org :)

I am not ashamed to say I cried when I saw this. Thank God for the pure love of Christ, which can be manifested in us.

This is a perfect example of true love... to everyone.
This made me cry so much...so touching...
These are real relationship goals.
Best piece of cinematography ever shot. Makes me cry every time (good tears not bad) so beautiful shows the love they have for each other.
I started crying within the first few seconds of this video... so beautiful.
I’m a Jewish born practicing gay Buddhist. Even though this was an LDS video, it still brought me to tears. I want to try to become a better husband
I started crying as soon as I started watching this. So beautiful.
So many good and loving people everywhere--in and out of religion.
This is a good reminder of what's really important. Love.
True love is shown by service!
This certainly brought a tear of appreciation to my eye. This is true love and devotion.
This teaches me that I can be better. I must improve and be better.
Far too many people understand what selfishness really is. They think it is not sharing your things, but it is so much more. It is sacrificing what we want, especially the worldly pleasures, for something of more worth. I agree marriage is the perfect place to practice this. Your spouse should be placed above all other pusuits.
So beautiful and spiritual video. My 9 years old son is touched deeply.
Reduced to tears, truly touched. Thank you for posting. An unconditional loving example we can all learn from.
I started crying because it reminded me to be grateful and love my family😭😭😭
I think there's a deeper metaphor in this video, in that our Savior and His Father love us as much as this husband did for his wife. No matter your physical or spiritual state, He is there in the Spirit, to love and guide you. I know what it's like to feel unlovable, but fall on your knees and let go... You'll find God there, I know it.
Cant stop crying..!!! this is incredible....
This is so beautiful. This is true love. I cry every time I watch this💕
I saw this, cried for 1 hour, then watched it again, and cried again
