- Before starting this run, I was pretty sure it was impossible. And it might be. But I'm going to attempt it anyway. I'm playing through Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 with every single stat set to zero. This game is big, and a lot harder than Pro Skater 3. Come watch me suffer.

I would pay a lot of money to be able to play HD remakes of all the originals on current gen, as long as they replicated the physics and controls exactly

THPS4 is on PC with 1080p resolution options and looks great.. just download it from a deadware site or pirate it . also THUG Pro exists, which is basically a free HD remake of all the tony hawks, and has free online multiplayer with active players. www.thugpro.com

I've got the same problem with barbers. I'm so afraid to go because so many of them have botched my haircut completely. That's the reason my hair always grows like hell up to my shoulders like a mop.

you HAVE to try playing Backyard Skateboarding on PC. it's a surprisingly good kids skating game from over 10 years ago. has a small cult following. I actually really enjoyed it as a kid

@@BrunodeSouzaLino dude look up mpc 4000 on google. i had a 2000 and used a 2000xl. the screen is in a different place and was never in a color way that included a bright white like that. thats the white and blue 4000
The High Bar trick challenge was in THUG 1, It was the last part of San Diego, and you had to do Bluntslides on the Elevated rail, it was difficult because you had to do a gap to land the trick, which meant going from the bank to the high bar was required.

I actually created you one time in THPS4, while it isn't perfect, the combover hair fits you best, imo.

I'm impressed with how well you're doing here. Getting some of these balance challenges I'd struggle with having proper stats at the time.

Dude Bam has not been doing ok. His insta account has been hard to follow as his grip on reality has gone up and down. Hes definitely fighting battles atm

You think you got spy microphones and cameras on you, you think people want to hurt you or burn your house down follow some weird "clues" you see in a floor pattern and go on these weird treasure hunts, you think you realize the meaning of life from some symbols you draw, etc.
I once stayed up for 3 days and went running into the woods in my underwear searching for a campfire because i thought I'm lost from my class reunion somehow. Obviously there was no class reunion or campfires.
4 years sober now. It's what Bam would need too. Look at Novak and Steve-o 😛

In the College level if you go into the garbage truck you'll trigger a mini game. I just found that out.
you can also edit your stats and make them zero in thug 2, very challenging.
You know there is a setting for widescreen in the PS2 Version?!
You don't have to use your Logictech controller. Modern controllers work on PC thanks in part to Steam & most emulators can recognize them too.
with the right adapters you can even get that PS2 controller working too

To me this game was the peak when it came to the classic games. THUG 1 comes in at a veeeeeery close second for me
Man this brings back memories. It's too bad these aren't available to buy on PS4. I wonder if it's because of the massive amount of licensing? Skaters, brands, music, etc. Such a shame. Just give us Tony Hawk 2x and call it good. Though i'm happy Skater XL is coming to consoles in July.

You should be able to use a ps4, xbox one, or xbox 360 controller for your emulator. It would work a lot better than your generic pc controller.

I don't think no-stat balance is much different from 3 to 4 tbh (definitely earlier games though), maybe there's just longer grinds involved. I wouldn't normally put stats into balance until everything else is full anyway because balance is something you can control, as opposed to speed, air etc, but I had no idea how far you could get with all zeroes. Looking forward to seeing you do this with the rest now ;)

Busted out the ps2 to play some THPS4 today; only bad part is almost every nollie/fakie trick is wrong; only inward heels and kicklips look good. Very small annoyance after playing THPS3 🛹

Get yourself an Xbox One or PS4 controller. They work great for emulators.

The damage mattering thing you mentioned...it exists in THUG on the GBA! And is somewhat interesting, though...not great

Neither skate sim nor arcade should there be an option not to skate for injuring your character. We're talking about a game mechanic that prevents you from playing the game - it's only "good" for free to play games if you really hate the player.

You've never heard grommet? Grom is a pretty well known skateboard slang word for a little kid

If your needing a new capture card setup then get a aver Media live gamer portable light capture card then get the official aver Media adapter an the aver Media composite to HDMI that should solve your capture card issues as that is what I currently use.

You can record stuff like the original xbox on a hdmi capture card by getting a component to hdmi coverter. Just letting you know in case you didint.
Do you have a PS4 or Xbox one? You can use those controllers (even a ps3 or 360 one would do) so you don't have to use a generic PC controller. I've been using a PS4 controller on my PC for years and I'm never going back
I tried this game on PC recently and could only get a few challenges done. This game is definitely not meant to be played with a keyboard.

Doing the tricks they yell out is tedious, but I have to give it credit for teaching me how to play Tony Hawk games.
i like those challenges because if you keep a long combo one kickflip (or any other trick) counts for every subsequent call out. made it a challenge for myself to do the whole challenge in one go.

If your not going to play pc version and emulate, i would recommend the gamecube emulator dolphin, it runs much better than the ps2 emulator
I thought most emulators allow you to generate a gamestate/save with a hotkey so you don't need to go through virtual memory card.

Ugh, I'm sorry, I know i'm probably echoing a ton of others, but, the "Bike Messenger mission" In SF, you said it wasnt good game design, but that was on you. You were supposed to transfer between the ramps, get the package, and coming out of that second ramp, it shoots you along to the next few packages. That one was on you.
Idk about gromit but in my state we have a local competition for the lil dudes at Third lair called king of the Groms
