I know everyone wants to live here, but if you can't afford it, what makes you think those of us barely making it here have extra money to pay for your rent/food/cloths ect? As much as I want to help, we literally don't have the money to give everyone free housing. I find it hard to believe she can't find a job, because our unemployment rate is 1.9% and there's hiring signs everywhere. Programs like tenant rights groups should be funded, they really help sort out issues with the many slum lords that think they can abuse their tenants. I know first hand. But people have to work and pay for their way, or move to a cheaper place. That's just the reality of life.

If you can’t afford to live in San Francisco maybe you should move into a city you can afford. Common sense, don’t live above your means..

These people want to have their cake and eat it too. Sorry, it doesn't work in big cities like San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, etc.

Boohoo! My family immigrated here legally (all seven of us, 5 kids). My parents were skilled workers who went out there and got jobs 2 to 3x (Burger King, Gas Stations) just to make ends meet so we don't have to freeload off the govt!! I don't understand why this country let's all these unskilled immigrants come here and then give them free housing and money from tax payers like my parents. Well guess what, the legal citizens of this country (especially SF) is tired of this B$ and we all know who NOT TO VOTE for in the next election. All you liberals will be fired!

When people/ businesses are leaving and the state loses track of 24 billion meant for spending on the homeless, then of course you’re gonna get budget cuts lmao… Also a slap in the face when your spending exorbant amounts of money on illegal immigrants, rather than on the citizens.

Just a thought what if benefits were only given to legal residents. There is an endless supply of poor people in other countries so there will never be enough money. If everything is great more people will come.
