I love how excited you get about things that I would otherwise pass by and go "Oh, that's neat" but not investigate further. It great seeing Route 66 with you.
You seem to be up and running on full throttle again, so full of energy and enthusiasm, Those roadside signs are just amazing, nothing at all like it over here in UK, and that car museum was epic, and 28 route 66's. I'm never likely to see this highway in person so I'm so pleased that you put so much information and great photography into each and every episode.
I love how excited Justin gets by the simplest things like the paper covers for the cups. Sometimes its the simplest things in life that can give the most pleasure.
Wow. RUclips must have the algorithms dialed in. I post a video with Route 66 mentioned in the audio and up pops a bunch of JustinScarred Route 66 Videos. Binge watching them now. Great stuff!
neat, hope you enjoy, he is a fun great guy. ALso if you are interested he has done a lot of Paris videos, and other travels videos. His main thing is Disney, oh and check out his Origin of the Quest for Positivity video. His serious sit and talk videos are amazing. Welcome to the club!
Corey Dahl shove off, Justin is a great guy. Take your negative crap somewhere else. Definitely not wanted here, and you have no evidence to back up your claims.
That car museum was awesome, and the the hotel? Beyond!! Fantastic renovation by that couple. Reminds me of my childhood, staying at smaller hotels in the 70s. Pool tiles in the shower; nice touch. All the little things like the paper over the cups and across the toilet....
We drove from North Carolina to San Diego California last summer to see family and on the way back we stopped and saw the blue hole and it was really cool
So glad he Justin covered the Blue Hole- that has been on My to do list for this summer! Gotta find a waterproof case for my cell phone. Love this Route 66 series-
Thanks for these great videos. Being from Kansas City Route 66 has never been a big part of our history as it sort of bypassed us until the interstate came along. It's great to see all the old places that people are trying to save. Keep up the great work.
The small fiberglass body on the shelf that you said you wonder if it was part of an amusement ride, it looks identical to an old kids pedal car that my grandparents use to have when I was growing up. I think its a body for a pedal car
Mate I could really do with one of those little bags to keep my car keys in! Maybe you could add some Randomland-branded 'necessity bags' to your merch store?! 😂👍
I love those old-school Mustangs. My mom was actually born the DAY the first Mustang rolled off the lot. Coincidentally, it's her favorite car....haha.
that hotel is what dreams are made of! all my madmen, kitschy dreams come true!!! when you get back you have to go to birds and bees in downtown l.a. its a 60s themed speakeasy bar feels like you stepped into an episode of madmen and a fallout shelter
The blue hole in Sana Rosa is one of the best places to dive in New Mexico. It opens up to a wider space the deeper you go like a bell shape. Did a lot of dives there. Would have enjoyed seeing some underwater footage.
I once had the honor to test drive a 1952 Oldsmobile Rocket 88 in El Segundo, Ca. That thing was a step back in time. We almost bought it too... sadly it had some problems that were a bit too high dollar to fix up and the owner was asking for way too much.
I remember my family had a TOMS vending machine like that in their service station. Wish I still had it, and the glass bottle coke machine too. My first car was a 1967 350 GT mustang fastback (Red) in 1989. My brother had a 1966 mustang coupe (Gold) w/ pony interior. My Dad sold it to my uncle in Huntington Beach Cali. a few years ago. If u r ever in Savannah Ga. look up the Thunderbird Hotel. You would love it. It also has RC Cola and Moon Pies.
The modernistic architecture you are referring to (with the "chevrons") is called "Googie". Somewhere along the line people decided it was ugly, dated or what-have-you and either torn it down or tried to hide it. But I think it reflects an optimism sorely lacking in today's society. Anything was possible back then. It makes me smile whenever I see it. Thanks for doing an intelligent and thoughtful vlog! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Googie_architecture
that was a pretty epic ending. not the magic fingers, the drone shot pulling away from you in front of your hotel room. it gives us more perspective of where you've been....or where you're going next.
When you do the "voice" of "the oooooold......." (like an "old timer's" voice) i literally CRACK up right here in my Livingroom! I'm really enjoying your videos of Route 66.
Theatres and museums opening! Oh my! More to look forward to! That will be so neat for the next time you do a route 66 trip to go through the newly made museum! And the theatre apparently will open sometime this year! The blue hole looks absolutely magical! Look at those cars!! The oldest car I've ever sat in on the road was a 1957 or 1958 Mustang. I don't know HOW my friend's dad got his hands on it, but he had it for yeeears even before I was born. It's now ..well.. um. Gone, they either sold it or trashed i have no idea. But it was one heck of a ride, it was so loud! Like a monster! Loved the ending! Your enthusiasm is as contagious as mine! Those were pretty sweet stuff! The pin was gorgeous! Another great upload, We can't wait for the next upload! :)
I remember when gas was .67 a gallon. When I was a kid in the 60s, I remember when my dad filled up with Ethel and it was .30 a gallon. There was a gas shortage in '77, I believe was the year, and saw gas prices rise to almost $1.00 a gallon, which I thought was far too much.
Justin! I grew up in a little town called Yukon, Oklahoma, right along route 66! Haven't been there in years as I live in the Pacific Northwest now, but if you could give them some love for me I would appreciate that! Love the videos btw! making me feel inspired to take my own trip along the old mother road!
My family got stranded in Santa Rosa a few years ago. I was in California taking care of my Dad. They were on their way there. They couldn't fix our van or catch the bus. So Daddy wired them money to buy an old Tahoe. but they made it.
Remember : Rock House in Stroud Ok. Right on 66. One of the Cars characters is based on owner Dawn. She's double blessed BTW, You'll understand that when you meet her.
15:37 LOL!! Well Justin, Gary Busey is still alive, however the famous person you had your arm around in which Gary Busey played in a movie... Buddy Holly... he's sadly dead and gone! ;) I know... it was a slip! A funny one however. haha
My wife and I broke down right out side of Tucumcari when we were on our way to California for our honeymoon. Wish we could have found that hotel before we left.
I love how excited you get about things that I would otherwise pass by and go "Oh, that's neat" but not investigate further. It great seeing Route 66 with you.
The Roadrunner Lodge is beautifully renovated. Nice find!

That motel was awesome!!
I have a 1969 Mustang, and it's my dream to drive it from one end of route 66 to the other!
That is an amazing car museum!!
Wow, I'm an Interior Designer and that hotel room was done very well. I love it!
Those old Phillips 66 gas pumps were awesome. Loved all those old cars you found in this video! 👍
Love that hotel room! I would like to decorate my bedroom just like that, so retro 50's.
We drove from North Carolina to San Diego California last summer to see family and on the way back we stopped and saw the blue hole and it was really cool
It's very beautiful but I'm not getting in that super cold water
that blue hole looks awesome
Justin:
This is simply the best Route 66 retrospect I've seen -- including cable and broadcast television.
Kind regards,
T.

Looks like they're renovating the Western Motel. Looks like a new roof, trusses, flashing, etc.
Thanks for these great videos. Being from Kansas City Route 66 has never been a big part of our history as it sort of bypassed us until the interstate came along. It's great to see all the old places that people are trying to save. Keep up the great work.

Im digging your Route 66 travels. I worked at a gas station when I was in high school, in 1979 gas was 67¢ a gallon.
14:30 that was a Thunderbird jr body.
A really nice kids car in the 1950's.

That has to be the coolest motel I've ever seen.
The blue hole in Sana Rosa is one of the best places to dive in New Mexico. It opens up to a wider space the deeper you go like a bell shape. Did a lot of dives there. Would have enjoyed seeing some underwater footage.
WOW! A motel with actual keyed rooms! Don't see that often these days!
Justice great vlog really enjoyed the car museum. See you tomorrow.
That last place was cool. I have that view master from when I was a 70's/80's kid.
ahhhhh the Roadrunner Lodge is awesome! I love that vintage theme. If I'm ever in that area, that's where I'd be staying
My dad owned a 1958 Edsel which was used in movies/shows. Quantum Leap was one of them. Kinda cool.

I think that Gary Busey is still with us , but that had me cry/laughing ! That motel could've been in a Mad Men episode
that was a pretty epic ending. not the magic fingers, the drone shot pulling away from you in front of your hotel room. it gives us more perspective of where you've been....or where you're going next.
This was awesome! Love seeing the motels you stay at!

Justin, You should dine at the Sci fi Restaurant in Disney Hollywood's Studio next time you're there. It reminds me of that antique car museum.

My wife and I broke down right out side of Tucumcari when we were on our way to California for our honeymoon. Wish we could have found that hotel before we left.
Blue hole is where beginning scuba divers can go to get certification, only place to do unless you go to an ocean in open water
Awesome Justin. I will be staying at that hotel. Tell the owners.
Gary Busey is still alive. Buddy Holly (whom Gary played) is not. Enjoy your videos, thanks for sharing!
I paused it and double checked just to be sure I hadn't missed when he died, lol.
