He inadvertently did the right thing. Chips is a trap, it carries you early antes but later ones you wanna hard-switch to mult-multers as you can get mult waaaaay higher than chips.
@@TheCommunistColin This is what's always been weird about the "Focus chips" advice for plasma deck. Chips do not scale nearly in the same way mult does, and you still want one or the other to scale really well.

Jokers that add mult when cards score actually don't matter where you place them in. But buying a x mult joker and instantly put it on the far left is definitely the worst play unless you intentionally want lower score for some reason.

Hey NL, i think a way you can think about plasma deck is that mult and chips are worth the same per point since they get split evenly. so +10 chips or +10 mult is the same (5chips and 5mult), but CHIPS usually are like +50-200 instead of like +5, so chips tend to be "worth" more
Exactly this. That’s why he also needs to pivot into mult at some point. Cause with five +100 chip jokers, that’s only +500 “points”, but if you get like +50 mult you only need x10 to match that. And with mult you’re easily getting up there, and way beyond
@@alphabattackthat's not how it works. The balancing happens before scoring, so your 50x10 becomes 30x30
@@Jacob-2796 I didn’t say +50 chips, I said +50 mult. So 10 chips and 50 mult x ten is 510 point, split to 255x255. The split happens after all the jokers take effect so it’s better for high score to still focus on Xmult

opened buffoon pack, chose the +50 chips on a pair joker over an endlessly scalable chip joker in Square Joker, sold the pair joker two rounds later. Forgot he could pay $10 to reroll the boss blind and sweated out beating the final boss. asked for a great negative joker to try endless with, ignored a negative joker that gives chips. Never change NL
that negative joker was ass anyways. Also he still clutched up although he could have rerolled, that boss isnt that devastating to his score as he only loses 1 hand worth of score if he played it like he played it, which he did.

Theres a lot of talk about chip jokers but they cant really be that good even in the plasma deck, right? Its much easier to get a super high mult score (because of mult multing) than to get a really high chip score. The only thing i can think of that would scale insanely quickly wouldve been bull but i dont think i saw it come up
Yup. End game plasma is still mult mult, but you can get by in the beginning with chips since you’re usually not getting that much mult.
@@alphabattackAnd the antes scale faster so you need to take advantage of the easy score from chips early. Then transition to a traditional mult mult build
I beat gold stake on plasma with like a 90% win rate by never focusing on mult. Focusing on chips will win you ante 8 because you will pretty much max out at 400mil a hand with good chip jokers that scale.

With plasma deck, you pick a lane, either mult or chip. Maxing both leaves you with less score because you are effectively gaining no score while catching up to the average. So, bull + bootstrap is worse than say bull + 50chip a pair or even bootstrap + blackboard
The reason chip maxing is suggested because your chip base is higher than mult. Unless you play highcard, your spending time 'catching up' to chip average.
