      Flu season has been mild this year, thanks to the mitigation measures used to contain COVID-19, such as physical distancing and mask wearing. School and office closures also contributed to the unusually inactive flu season. The mitigation measures curbed influenza activity even though COVID-19 surged.

    Lots of similarities between Influenza and Covid. Apart from being different colours, the differences seem to be that Flu is old and Covid is new and that the Flu vaccine wasn’t effective against Covid.
    I was wanting to know some detail about the differences between these viruses; weight, shape, structure, grouping, movement etc. What we have here is a list of (very similar) effects on humans. Not good enough. 👎🏼

    Actually, there is a section of this that I'd like to look back on with speculation. They said loss of taste and smell is not really a symptom of the flu, but science and basic research beg to differ. It's extremely common during a flu to lose sense of smell and taste when you have any infection of the airways (i.e, acute bronchitis) for a variety of reasons. One of them being the fact that the virus infecting your body itself can cause this loss and it's completely natural. So can damaging the cells in your nasal passages with nose blowing, throat irritation from coughing, excess mucus in the lungs, sinusitis, etc. It's important I comment this because people could totally have a seasonal flu and start panicking. What I'm saying can't take the place of a good covid test (if it can even be done without causing fucking nose hemorrhaging LOL) but it's still important to throw out there.

    • @JonathanGrandt

    • @zlonewolf
      @zlonewolf 2 года назад

      @dungbeetus69 indeed the cold and flu can cause loss of taste. When youre sick your senses are affected including loss of appetite. People want to believe in anecdotal evidence to help differentiate flu vs covid. However everyone reacts differently. So some cases can be more severe. There is no anecdotal evidence aa strong as actual lab testing. Sure lab testing has flaws as well. But it will be "somewhat" more accurate than your gut feelings. Thus getting tested should be priority versus laize faire attitute that you "know" yourself best which doesnt always work.

    ADVICE: If you have covid and is having a hard time breathing. Do a "Belly Breathing" - the most efficient way to breathe (you can search it up online). This is exactly what I did when I was slowly losing air to breathe. I was having a hard time inhaling through my nose so I used my mouth. Your belly should come outward as you take in air. As you exhale, your stomach will come back in. If it's hard to breathe through your nose then use your mouth. If this makes your mouth dry then try to have a glass of water and maybe a little bucket beside you where you can rinse your mouth from time to time. If it's hard to breathe when you lay down then just sit. You need to practice until your body gets use to it. Put your hand in your stomach so you can monitor your breathing. ( I tried the one where you hold your breath for a couple of times and cough at the last try but it didn't work for me. It made it even more hard for me to breathe.)

    just to clear things up.
    Influenza causes more symptoms than Coronavirus in young patients.
    Coronavirus mainly is fatal in elderly patients..
    In young patients the influenza virus causes more symptoms than coronavirus. Coronavirus mainly starts with a sharp headache, fever and leads to a dry cough unlike the influenza people with coronavirus do not feel tired. Influenza virus causes chills, fever, sore throat, mucus secrections, and various others symptoms mentioned. In some cases coronavirus has caused some of these symptoms in elderly patients but the dry cough without mucus, sharp painful headache and fever is a clear sing you have coronavirus.
    So that people are more aware that the influenza virus is more powerful than the coronavirus in young patients.
    In short if you coughing mucus, sneezing, and feeling tired your most likely infected by the influenza virus.
