    Thanks to Mathew for meeting up and letting me record his Jeep WJ. This is not just a Jeep Build but has sentimental value which is what makes this Jeep Build Special! Should we make a fishing video? Mathew has experience fishing and even makes his own fishing lures! So we can definitely make a good video!

    I just got a 4.0 Laredo at 18 and is really hard to upgrade it since everything is SOO expensive but your videos have helped me a lot at upgrading !!!

    • @TheOnlyFalcon17
      @TheOnlyFalcon17 4 месяца назад

      I got my WJ almost 5 years ago bone stock at 125k on miles, if you want to upgrade it as an overlander or a project rig to your likings I'd start the research first on a starting point for a budget boost lift so you're not jumping in to something that you're not familiar with because like you said its true that parts nowadays are expensive from long arm lift kits, driveshafts, axles to differentials. When I started mine I was on a 2 inch budget boost lift basically new shocks and pucks to lift it up a little bit, then down the road once I saved up and did research I went with the 4 inch long arm kit and you can stuff 32s or 33s without trimming. Lots of Jeep owners from WJs to ZJs or even TJs or YJs they'll tell you dont go for rough country because they are cheap and the bushing go out really quick daily drive alone too. If you don't want to break the bank you can go for that route and once the bushings go bad just replace all threaded ends with johnny joints or metal cloaks so you don't have to spend a boat load of money on a whole new long arm kit.
      I've learned a lot over time on my WJ learning new things and I tell people this when they do a project rig. Be very patient and don't neglect or cut around corners. Because once you lift over 3 or 3.5 inches and go long arms, now you have to do an alignments to make sure your transfer case and driveshafts are in spec for those heights and eventually monitor and soon upgrade your driveshafts and the rear diff because the Dana 35's (my WJ has that) it'll go at some point due to the heavier weights of the bigger tires and wheels. Oh and a rear A arm from Core 4x4 that has johnny joints.
      My WJ now at 183k on miles its now sitting with 32s, 4 inch long arm kit rough country and the threaded ends will be converted to johnny joints or metal cloaks, bilstein shocks, all brakes replaced and fresh, my rear diff is now fixed going from open diff to limited slip diff. And still on stock gears at 3.55 also stock driveshafts since I have the Laredo package with the 4.0 selec trac transfer case.

    Every time you feature a WJ it costs me money as I want what they have. I must have dodged a full magazine of bullets with my 4.7. I've got 270,000 and the engine has never been touched. It has had plenty of abuse with 24 years of cold Minnesota starts. I'm sure the crystal ball shows a rebuild in the future.

    • @UnderFunded_inc
      @UnderFunded_inc 4 месяца назад +1

      Yea not sure where that came from. I have a wj and every single thing on it has given me an issue except the 4.7 😅

  • @aidenmclean4287
    @aidenmclean4287 4 месяца назад

    If you build a v8 and buy the heads with the valve dropping problem fixed you’ll make your v8 last wayyyy longer when you rebuild it

      I kinda think 3" is max for still riding good on short arms. What do you think? I haven't lifted mine, but it has the arms in already.
