These little scenes really added something to the show on the whole. The ability to fit in a humorous scene like this with the use of dialog but rather just Jack and Teal'c doing something. these added heart to the show and really showed how the characters had such a repose that they could do silly things like this. Stargate is no doubt a one of a kind show that just all the marks in just the right way. Two great series and two short lived shows we don't talk about.

This scene, and in S5E3 when O'Neill and a ten-gallon hat-wearing Teal'c show up on Carter's doorstep with pizzas and Teal'c's canonical favorite film, "Star Wars" (which he has seen in full nine times) on a Blockbuster VHS, are my favorite Teal'c scenes.
how does a tv show becomes successful? it's the actors. when actors get along like family off camera, the show becomes a hit. look at Star Wars, Married With Children and Star Trek.
Lol really? Star Trek TOS one of the most succesful scifi shows the cast weren't exactly family. Sure they weren't feuding but there were frictions between individual cast members and not just between Nimoy and Shatner. No, you're wrong, it's a combination of things: production design, storytelling, acting, characters and writing. If those elements are good and flow good together then you have a success if it can speak to a large enough audience.

Cornell O Neil must have had a difficult day. He attempt suicide by "taking icecream from T'ceal". He's lucky to have such a good friend, that immidiately recognized how bad he was felling and wordlessly offered him Icecream to make him feel better.

The chemistry between the cast was always great and a scene like this just shows how they worked as a team. I would love to have seen if there was a blooper for this, I can just see RDA and Christopher Judge cracking up at Jack trying to take ice cream from Teal'c and then Teal'c taking the ice cream from Jack.
am i the only one who really liked jonas? i thought he was a good substitute for daniel jackson. i was kind of sad to see him go when daniel returned to the show.
I was kind of neutral. Swapping out Daniel for somebody who started out mildly annoying, was another char who had to "grow" into the team, and was a bit boring didn't help. I would've liked him better, if, for instance, during battles he demonstrated a much higher aggressive proficiency than you would expect (I.e., had another side to him). Still, I was kind of sorry to see him get canned - he wasn't THAT bad.
Jonas was great - the kind of a gifted character who could put up with the rest of sg1 despite missing experiences. He was a gread addition and i was sry to see him leave that soon. Nonetheless Daniels part was way bigger, more important and as well better; way more funnier. And i did like the actor.
Teal'c's alien quirks in Tauri culture make him low-key hilarious. It's like watching a cat video, only the cat is a polite alien made of a ton of muscle

I really like at the end when Teal'c takes one last spoonful of ice cream as they're leaving. To me I just think it was a long day of filming and Christopher Judge was really hungry so he took one last spoonful. And they just kept it in.
Back when I was too young and living far away from USA while watching this episode, I did not know what Ice Cream they were eating, but now I know. Ben & Jerry's is the best.

He's a goody two shoes easygoing scientist boy next door and her almost Thatcherite My Way Or The Highway style soft-spoken yet unyielding leadership style would've made for utterly fascinating chemistry. Selling that particular brand of parental stringency is probably why they swapped out the CSI chick for Higginson; The former just never quite managed to project SGA!Weir's Air of politically savvy solemn, unflappable dignity and dangerously refined calm and instead just kind of came across as anxiously irritable. Real shame Higginson never saw the way her character carried the narrative and instead opted to quit a role she filled like no-one else ever could've.
Sorry to reply to a year old post. But yeah, I wish they did do that (or brought him in as a guest star). And the fact that Mckay already knows Jonas it would have been fun to see them work together (again). Their interaction was funny in season 6, when they both were telling Hammond why the plan wasn't going to work for very different reasons and he basically tells them off.

One thing about this show I found funny. Teal'c and other people not from earth , experiencing our food. I'd like to imagine all the wide variety of our food they have never had and would be amazed about how good it is. It is one of society's way of coming together. Everyone eats.

happily sit down when SG1 is on tv and watch episodes I've seen a dozen times 20 years ago! such a great show and cast hated reading Christopher Judge talk about how hard it was when the show finished the realization of not having a job after so long playing an iconic character and glad the God Of War role worked out for him hope to see him make some appearances elsewhere like HBO shows

Technically, the ship has food storage capabilities, I’m sure they have refrigerated sections for that stuff so the crew is able to eat when they go on missions. @Blasted2Oblivion Jonas is part of the team, so that means it's season six. The episode title was "Unnatural Selection." It's sad that I can recall nearly any SG-1 episode's title and season, but I guess it comes in handy at times like this.

One thing about this show I found funny. Teal'c and other people not from earth , experiencing our food. I'd like to imagine all the wide variety of our food they have never had and would be amazed about how good it is. It is one of society's way of coming together. Everyone eats.

happily sit down when SG1 is on tv and watch episodes I've seen a dozen times 20 years ago! such a great show and cast hated reading Christopher Judge talk about how hard it was when the show finished the realization of not having a job after so long playing an iconic character and glad the God Of War role worked out for him hope to see him make some appearances elsewhere like HBO shows

Teal'c is the most convincing alien of all times.
Technically, the ship has food storage capabilities, I’m sure they have refrigerated sections for that stuff so the crew is able to eat when they go on missions. I guess that there was just too much food to be moved to the appropriate mess hall area for the ship at that time with the limited staff at hand :-)

@Blasted2Oblivion Jonas is part of the team, so that means it's season six. The episode title was "Unnatural Selection." It's sad that I can recall nearly any SG-1 episode's title and season, but I guess it comes in handy at times like this.
Can we talk about that they are actually eating it, not like in other shows where the food is infront of people, but no one eats...

I can't help but find this entire scene funny, given how Teal'c once said he would not want to have milk at any tempature, and yet he clearly loves ice cream, which is frozen ice-cream
