      James Cameron doesn't do what James Cameron does for James Cameron. James Cameron does what James Cameron does because James Cameron is James Cameron!

    James Cameron is brilliant and I really loved the interviewer. She was great.

      Yep. Especially, the way he conveyed the message about the many interpretations Titanic has, because, of the complexity of the event surrounding the sinking.

    This interview is of great quality. Interesting information brought up by appropriate questions. I admire this kind of work.

    I think the ship balanced itself out.. it first was listing starboard on the side of impact. The fireman's hall contained the water until it was high enough to flow over the fireman's hall to the port side which evened the ship out.. then once Scotland road (long crewman's passage almost the length of the ship with no watertight compartments) started to flood on the port side, it started to list to port by couple degrees, possibly off setting the starboard list that was taking on the water.. freak of nature and physics.. The crewman might have done some trimming, but I believe the ship balanced it's self out.

      The ship was also already listing to port bcs they had displaced the coal from coal bunker 10, to end the fire, to the adjacent port side bunker which counter the initial starboard list.

    VERY interesting fact shared by Cameron about TItanic's not rolling over to one side, but staying upright allowing both sides of lifeboats (port and starboard) to be launched. He's absolutely right, many ships that founder roll to one side before they. This happened on the Costa Concordia for example, which meant that half the ships's lifeboats were rendered inoperable. Cameron credits Titanic's engineering crew with keeping the ship balanced after the collision with the iceberg.

      Except the ship did actually start listing to port during the sinking, so when some of the last lifeboats were being launched from the starboard side, they were scraping down the side of the ship.

      @@julius6889 That was only when Titanic began to really submerge with the 1st funnel submerging etc.

    • @victorsamsung2921
      @victorsamsung2921 Год назад

      Yep. Also, why the front of the ship lays vertical on the ocean floor ... not on its side like Britannic etc.

    • @julius6889
      @julius6889 Год назад

      @@victorsamsung2921 Wrong, no lifeboats would be scraping down the side of the ship when the 1st funnel submerged, cause the last lifeboat was launched from the bridge on the starboard side... Check out honour & glorys sinking simulation. It's pretty bang on.
