for the continuity check use a better setup. sometimes there will be no voltage due to loose wiring. if it is, then you could buy a new speaker, and then realize it's a wiring issue from the radio causing loss of speaker noise. use a multimeter, or if there is high inductance as a big speaker use a T type connector for a 9 volt battery.
also, if you would like to try repairing a speaker, you will need to know how it works. there are coils that slide past magnets which causes air to vibrate at frequencies to create sound, the same way you talk. but there's a thing called back emf, which is caused by magnets and electromagnets moving past each other this can sometimes lead to voltage spikes, and can break the electromagnet's wires in two, or weld them causing a loss of voltage flow, you can prevent this with a snuffer capacitor which you can stick to positive and negative to the speakers along with the actual speaker wires, but in any case you will have to take the speaker apart and replace this wire. I tried to explain it as simple as I could, but I'm not very good at explaining, so if you have any questions I will answer them.

Strange thing happend. I have a speaker that stopped working, tried to test it but it did not work, then i tested it again on the cars's battery and it make that "pop" sound but with some smell (smoke basicly) and now it works. Do you have any idea if I can use the speaker on the car again? Now it makes the "pop" sound every time i test it

if one of my audio speakers (driver's side) is dead, and I cant fid the original speaker for this car (meaning that I have to buy a third party speaker), does it mean I have to change all of the speakers in the car, so they are all the same, or just one should be good? Thanks!

If it's a cheap OEM speaker, I recommend you get low wattage (40 to 60) after market speakers all around, most would be better than the oem's you have in there, and they can still get loud with the deck if they're low wattage, many wonder why their 100 watt speakers don't get loud with the factory deck alone, now they have to add an amplifier...

Doing this with a 9v battery is stupid and will kill the coil your better off using a 1.5v battery

You can you can literally buy a set of 29 dollar car speakers and it will sound twice as better as that stock thing it doesn't even have a Twitter it's just one way speaker so you're going to expect mids and lows to come out of the same driver when that's not going to really happen it's unless you have tweeters but in my opinion I think that newer OEM car speakers attend to suck a lot more they wear out quicker they're made of plastic given if you take an eighties car they sound good they might be a little worn out but those things will still usually sound good made him mostly metal newer cars because you're just a cheaply thrown together piece of plastic and a tiny magnet and a little voice coil so in my opinion it's just think it's best to replace the crappy Lee assembled car speaker it's just put a new one in there bingo bango you have a lot better sounding radio and less crappy speakers to worry about in the future
