The vets are homeless. Yet they have endless funds to send in aid to Ukraine, weapons to send to Israel, and money to post illegal immigrants in 4 star hotels. Its just crazy.
The British military is mostly an OFFENSIVE military, as we saw in Iraq, where they invaded a country not threatening the UK. This is one of the most important reasons why young Britons do not see joining the military as a very well advised career move.
Well that's not the reason is it? because young people were either not around then or too young to remember. Iraq was a very, very short war. Even if that was true then that's the vegan mentality of faux mortality. You typed this on a phone of which it's parts were primarily made in a sweat shop in a poverty riddled country. Don't pretend it's anything to do with humanitarian morals when you probably work for a CEO that funds and profits from these wars. Just be honest people aren't joining because it's not their temperament and they never would even if our country got invaded and their families got attacked. Not everyone wants to be a paramedic or a firefighter or police officer. Not everyone wants to be a delivery driver. Not everyone wants to be a nurse or a care worker ect. And the ones who normally would join aren't because there's no reason. There's no war on. What are you going to do when you're in? That's why
You cannot be patriotic when your very own government dislikes you and your country is flooded with people who do not look like you, speak like you, or have the same values and traditions as you. The more "diverse" Britain becomes, the more the army will suffer with lower and lower numbers. And rightly so. After all, who will we be defending against at that point since everybody will already be here? My lineage goes back many generations in Britain. I always thought I would join the U.K army when I was a kid. Growing up in a small town outside Cambridge, between 2002 and 2015, I had friends, a strong sense of community, lovely locals, Church every Sunday and most of all, a culture and country to be proud of. This is no longer the case and hasn't been for over a decade. The U.K literally sold its soul to globalism, it rejected all the aspects of itself that made it great and then asks itself why it can't find its identity as a nation anymore. I would have gladly laid down my life for the country I knew, but that country no longer exists, and I think many young people are aware of this reality. I could say a lot more, but what would it change? nothing, because the truth is that the majority of Brits are not willing to stand up against the evil that has entered our shores, I suspect they never will. If any Brit claims that the country is better than it was, they are either fantastically ignorant or have deluded themselves to dangerous degree. Tragically, most fall into the latter.

as someone who applied i can tell u as a matter of fact one of the biggest reasons is how awful the application process is theres an organization called mpct which is a college meant to prepare teens for military training and almost everyone there had some kind of problem with their application. otherwise, there was really no point being in the college itself, since if ur old enough to join the college, then ur old enough to join the military. the medical part of the application is what holds a lot of people back, anything would get flagged up by capita.. from small cases of acne to signs of mild asthma from a young age. despite the medical, the application process is still very long and most people either changed their minds or lost interest completely theres also nothing to inspire patriotism in this country... i walk down the street and see more rainbow flags than union jacks..
The medical is actually ridiculous. Most of my friends in the forces had to lie about their medical to get in because, contrary to what the armed forces believe, the perfect body does not exist. This also creates the issue that a core value of the British Military is integrity and half the officers had to lie to get in. Something needs to change
Worked in a recruitment office in Luton a few years ago. Was asked to remove my uniform on my lunch break before I left the office. No other country does that.
A large percentage of people living in the UK were born abroad. By joining the British army, they would be fighting for a country that isn't theirs. Nationalism and patriotism are now, in many ways, synonymous with racism. Add to this diversity, equity, and inclusion. The fact you can now no longer even smoke a cigarette on a military base or ship, which, last I looked, was still legal and taxable. The pay is crap. Many of the weapons are substandard and are more about keeping British industry in work than giving the serviceman the best tools for the job. On top of all this, many kids leaving school now seem more certain of their pronouns than they are of basic human sexuality.

I went in 2 years ago and managed to get out, but it’s because of what many people are saying on here, our government and the state of our country is not worth fighting or dying for. If foreign troops where to step foot on British soil then that’s another thing, but 18 year olds aren’t gonna give their lives away half way across the globe for a government that won’t even care about them.
It’s pretty simple all of the recruitment campaigns are designed to appeal to people who wouldn’t want to join in the first place. Instead of trying to convince people who a. Don’t want to join and b. Probably aren’t cut out for it they need to go back to focus on appealing to the people who would actually consider it.
The British government can try any recruitment tactic they want, but it will not work. The comment section echoes the same thing. The common man does not trust the judgement and goodwill of the British government. Until the government changes, the recruitment crisis will not get better.
The fact that you have no funds for ammunition and barely any equipment says a lot. Plus, they aren't exactly tough. 😂 they run for their lives when up against equals.
Simple, it takes 6-12 months to go through the recruitment process. Young people will find something else to do in the mean time. It’s not a motivation problem in young people, it’s an administration problem
There's the reasons people are saying here; government does not care about you, we participate in conflicts for interests of politicians and rich people rather than any honourable reason. The other main reasons in my books are the ridiculous medical disqualifiers and lack of funding.
Oh where to start? No incentive. You get better pay elsewhere for doing FAR LESS...like working on tills at tesco, McDonalds or whatever. You could be in 10 years, a sgt and still just get a tenner or so more than someone 1 year in tesco or such. Its not hourly too, it is day rates, in and out of the field. You could be a standard 8 hour for a day but exercise in horrendous conditions for 24hours, you're given an hour or two to rest but who actually sleeps properly during thst? Recruitment is done by a horrific civillian company, infact a lot is done by civillian companies and they are renown for bad reviews and mismanagement. The army is still needing to catch up to modern standards on so much yet those at the MoD refuse to listen...mismanagement and ignorance prevailing as always. So many reasons sadly. Its why so many are leaving too
Yeah. I work for one such civilian company that took over military catering and they are rubbish. Management is a nightmare. There's a a huge lack of cooperation and communication between supervisors and the Mess Manager. The lack of KP staff in the JRM, ensures that me and my colleague will be forever helping out every evening if one or two of them go sick or on leave (there's only four KPs there compared to six or seven they had previously and they never got properly replaced). Also, getting the proper amount of cleaning chemicals is beyond a joke. We've constantly ordered the vital liquids we need for cleaning surfaces and the platewash machines, never got them or they were sent to other messes and were never told. Our steriliser sink is knackered whilst the civilian repair companies argue over who's job it is to fix it.
I went to join up when I was 19, took them 3 years to sort my application because of past minor medical issues like childhood asthma. By the time I got sent to the assessment centre I got turned away on the first day by a capita doctor for having a food allergy when I was 3 years old and have been cleared of any food allergies for at least a decade. Was given a red card and told to piss off home. Would never bother joining again after hearing all my mates who are currently serving saying how bad it is anyway.
Im in the process of leaving the military and to be honest the pay isnt great, you spend half your life away from families and conditions/food etc are very poor. As for people not joining i think young people are far less patriotic now, alot of young people have no real connection to britain as they/there families arent from here and i think neo libralism has softened younger generations.. people dont want to fight for elites and for a country there not from and have no deep rooted connection to

If the UK introduced a National Guard which train and fight only in the UK Heartland then yes many may join because they would be doing what they believe in. I am currently applying to be in the army. The process so far, has taken 7 months. I am joining because I believe it is a man’s duty to defend the people he loves and the country he lives in. I understand people aren’t patriotic anymore and there are much better paid jobs out there. And the risk of dying for someone’s personal gain isn’t attractive lol I believe the problem facing the army is continued tax cuts. A big problem for recruiting is that the army offshored recruitment to a private company who are doing an utterly terrible job. The next few years are make or break for the army and in my opinion for the UK itself. If your still reading then thank you for listening and god bless my man 💪👊
Yes, go off to die for people who hate you. Fool. What would change if the Russians took over the UK or made it their vassal? How would this affect your family? Not at all, maybe they would even be safer than now.
This problem isn't new, they were taking in too many commonwealth soldiers when I served as a SSgt way back in 2010, half of my troop consisted of Fijian and African men and women. The African men didn't respect the female NCOs, which was quite annoying to sort out..
I'm going to put this out there as someone who was in the cadets and went to MPCT Our government barely takes care of our veterans as it is and the British Army is severely outdated and underfunded and wastes millions or billions on advertisements thinking a bit of CGI is going to make people want to serve a system that does not care about them there is a large disconnect between the older soldiers nearing the end of their service and newer soldiers and recruits what usually happens is people are normally driven away or drop out and if anyone with a higher rank hates you in the early stages they can just practically end your career before it starts and just bully you out I honestly do not blame younger folks for not wanting to serve in the army when there's more promising and less stressful careers out there that doesn't take a toll on your mental health and pays more than the army would

Well, again Tony Blair laid the foundations and the Conservatives weren’t actually conservative….. there in lies your problem. You’ve let the Church of England fall by the way side. Replace that with new religions like materialism, wokeism and liberatian atheism. Couple that with repeated lies from politicians and recent dubious wars, Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya done under multiple guises. If you had a decent focus on the armed forces, focused on their primary purpose of ‘defence’ then you’d probably clear your 120,000 people.
The reasons why young people are not joining the British Army? 1. Capita - The outsourcing of recruitment from the Traditional Recruitment Sgt and Office to a distant online civilian recruiter. 2. The disparaging of masculinity of White working class males. Bordering on a hatred of Manhood. 3. A demographic that wants a British passport but hates the country. And has more members in ISIS than the British Army. 4. Diversity and inclusion breaking up regimental ethos, placing women in roles that in live combat they will be useless at but pretending they are equal physically to Men. 5. Consequences of mixing genders in roles and in theatres of war and being surprised at the outcome , of pregnancy, manipulation of superiors for favours, S.A etc 6. Woke weak Gen Z not used to being punished for lack of discipline. 7. Silly wars where Soldiers are seen to to be disrespected after the conflict and are actually put on trial years later based on false allegations for carrying out orders from superiors who escape the consequences of their decisions. 8. A total Ban on being Patriotic to one's country and it's history and traditions.

I could say a lot more, but what would it change? nothing, because the truth is that the majority of Brits are not willing to stand up against the evil that has entered our shores, I suspect they never will. as someone who applied i can tell u as a matter of fact one of the biggest reasons is how awful the application process is
theres an organization called mpct which is a college meant to prepare teens for military training and almost everyone there had some kind of problem with their application. otherwise, there was really no point being in the college itself, since if ur old enough to join the college, then ur old enough to join the military. the medical part of the application is what holds a lot of people back, anything would get flagged up by capita.. from small cases of acne to signs of mild asthma from a young age. despite the medical, the application process is still very long and most people either changed their minds or lost interest completely
theres also nothing to inspire patriotism in this country... i walk down the street and see more rainbow flags than union jacks..
The medical is actually ridiculous. Most of my friends in the forces had to lie about their medical to get in because, contrary to what the armed forces believe, the perfect body does not exist. This also creates the issue that a core value of the British Military is integrity and half the officers had to lie to get in. Something needs to change

This age you speak of is a gift all over the world people now see how things really are.
5. Consequences of mixing genders in roles and in theatres of war and being surprised at the outcome , of pregnancy, manipulation of superiors for favours, S.A etc
My reason is simple. I as a young person do not want to join an army that is used to fight for globalist agendas.
I like how they make a big statement that Russia is big threat even tho Russia has no need to fight NATO as that would be dumb, only thing UK needs to worry is their economy and illegal migrants, not Russia
I applied but because im slightly autistic i got rejected instantly on the application and its to complicated to try and appeal and kinda pointless

Why would foreigners join British army..
Especially on those pitiful wages..
They're scared and don't realise they would, ultimately, be fighting for themselves.
The current crop of Military age people are what can only politely be described as "delicate doilies".. And then there's the weirdly skinny or morbidly obese. 🤔
Why join when you can play Call of Duty
