- In this video I make a tunnel form my layout
I used wire mesh to make the form of the tunnel
Next I covered the form with Plaster Cloth which is available at store such as Hobby Lobby and Micheals. Also available online thru Amazon.
Finally I put a layer of American Art Clay Sculptamold which is available thru Amazon or your local hobby shop. Here’s a link to it on Amazon

I like it and was informative thanks.
That molding compound leaves a nice, textured surface. I just finished my first ever tunnel on my layout. I used a different method; it is good to see how others do the same thing.
I plan on building a mountain tunnel on my O gauge shelf ceiling layout. This video was helpful.
really good job
Great job injoy watching
You make it look so easy I thought about using pvc corrugated drain pipe
Very interesting and informative video thank you very much
Nice shirt and nice collection
OUTSTANDING 👍👍
nice job
Great job 👍👍👍
Did you video how you painted and landscaped? Looks great
Unfortunately, I didn’t video the painting, but I just kinda “winged” it
Do you think you can use plas9 stripes and expanding sprayfoam
I haven’t tried to use expanding foam for a tunnel. I know it works good if you want to just build rocks then you can carve them the way that you want and then put a light coating of Sculptamold over it. I would think if you’re going to use it for a tunnel, you’ll have to carve the inside of the tunnel, unless you can figure out a way of controlling which way the foam expands.
Although you have given me a good idea for an upcoming video, maybe I’ll do a little experiment to see how it works
Why don't you just ADD Hills Brothers Coffee to it.???
Have you tried using spray foam?
Not yet but I have an area that I’m planning on putting a mountain side and I figure I’ll try that method when I do it. Keep an eye out for that video.
@@Pvilletrains ive used spray foam to make a mini off road track for my 1/16th scale rc rock crawler and it came out nice. Use some texture spray paint after. I’ve also use wadded up news paper and then soaking strips of newspaper in a mixture of Elmer’s glue and water and laying it on the wads of newspaper to make hill sides and mountains.
