This is old fashioned coffee cake with a soft cream cheese layer in the center. It's easy to make and is a great companion to coffee - great a breakfast or as a dessert.
I love your vintage kitchen and wholesome ingredients. This cake baked like it was inside a magic oven! I'll try to do this for my daughter's Thanksgiving coffee and dessert. I really look forward to your recipe videos because you both are so friendly, explain things well and use your magic vintage oven and supplies. Brings this 61 year old back to childhood days.
I just began watching your videos about a week ago and wanted to let you know how much I have come to enjoy them. Your vintage kitchen, recipes and music is wonderful and certainly do bring back a lot of memories of my childhood days. Thanks for taking the effort to do a great job for us!
I re-watched this I think in the fall I will throw an afternoon coffee. With tomato sandwiches, bacon and cheese biscuits , and a coffee cake like yours. It is a total American custom, the British love tea, and we Americans love our coffee!
Kevin that is a great cake! Love the glaze I had never thought about the cinnamon. Well it's too late for me but it sure looks good .. And Ralph your taste in music is always great! But this time you outdid yourself. Hope you really enjoyed that coffee cake and made many more. Mikey and Miss Kitty
I felt my blood sugar rising while I was watching this! Yum. I think I'm going to bake this and surprise my husband! I get happy whenever I see a new video from you. Love you guys!
I love your videos and the at home feeling that reminds me of when I was a kid cooking with my mom in the kitchen, the music on record player in the back ground ties everything in together perfectly, I love it, please keep these slices of heaven coming.
This looks absolutely sensational! Can't wait to try. I'm not sure why I've not taken on the practice of making coffee cake as I actually have people over for coffee occasionally. Must try! Cheers!
Oh my, heaven on a plate!! Yum, cream cheese!! Kevin I like your addition of the cinnamon to the glaze!! Ralph you had me laughing with your comment, life in a coffee cake..... Love you guys! Have a great day!
My childhood memories at picnic and barbecues we had sandwiches and sides always with potatoe chips and pretzels in a huge golden can! The end of summer the cans disappeared, and would reappear in late November , early December with wax paper layers of all kinds of Xmas cookies your mom and her friends were baking when you were in school!
I think I've gained like 7 pds. Since I started making your deliciousness receipies and honestly I don't mind!!! Wow.. Will be making your coffee cake this weekend!!! Love you both!!!
Hello, it's Rose I was wondering my mom would make a pistachio bunt cake. Wondering if you ever heard of it. I don't know all the details maybe u can help, it was pistachio pudding mix & orange juice that's all I know. Instead of milk maybe orange juice help if you can, then she would put powder sugar on top it was wonderful.thanks
Hi Rose - I did a pistachio cake a few years ago. I know they were popular for a while and there are a number of variations out there. Here's mine: ruclips.net/video/pFETL2mhemQ/видео.html
I am always fascinated by the red bird (is to a cardinal?) I can see through the window. When you film outdoors, however, I never see it. Does it represent something special, or is to just for pretty?
Hi Jean - it hangs in the kitchen window and we have a family tradition that cardinals are reminders of our parents - so that cardinal represents my mom who was always in the kitchen and so that's where I always wanted to be as a kid. Thanks for spotting it! Happy New Year!
Hi Eileen - Hmmm, I'm not sure why this turned out dry. Using a 10 inch tube pan shouldn't have made a big difference from the 8 inch size. Have you checked your oven temperature with a thermometer? Just wondering if you oven might run a little hot. Other than that, I'm not sure. Sorry! Thanks!
@@cavalcadeoffood wow thanks, I wouldn't have thought of that, but it makes sense. An oven thermometer is now on my shopping list & I'll check it out and get back to you. I used my broiler last night for your savory chicken & the crusted stuffed tomatoes and I think I need to use the low setting for those too.
What a nice way to start my Monday morning. Another delicious looking, easy recipe with two of my favorite RUclipsrs!
Happy Monday, Howard! Have a great week!

@@cavalcadeoffood Thank You !! I will try it. Yours look delicious 🤗
Wow that looks divine! Btw, what music were you playing at the end when Kevin was eating the cake?
Thanks, moon lily! The song is "The Shadow of Your Smile," but I'm not sure of the artist. I'll have to ask Ralph...he usually picks the music!
Oh yeah, I recognize it now. Would love to know who was playing it.

I made this yesterday in a 10 inch tube pan. Not sure what happened but it came out rather dry. I wonder if you might have any suggestions?
Thank you!
