Gday, you're with Nathan from The Garage Miami and we're excited because we're here today for the first look at the new Toyo AT3 Open Country.
One thing we notice is that the tyre looks considerably better than it used to, so it's going to look fanatastic in your tyre and wheel packages.
Beefed up side biters here, and a nice aggressive tread design.
Depending on your taste, the tyre does come with a raised sidewall one side and a smoother side wall on the other side.
And like good all-terrain tyres it is light truck construction, 120 load or 10 ply rating.
What we really notice about the Toyo is that it looks a hell of a lot better than the predecessor, the AT2. Plus the sidewall nowadays has a far more impressive side biter, which apart from some protection off-road and ability in the mud it will also give you a better look when your tyre and wheel package is fitted up. And that where it probably now has caught up to the look of that AT3 product (Wildpeak).
As you can see from this card here, the Falken still does have a slightly deeper tread depth, but it's not by much.
At The Garage Miami we do think that the AT3W (Falken Wildpeak) is the best product on the market right now. But it truly looks like they have a real rival here in the new AT3 Open Country from Toyo. One thing we did notice though is the Falken here still has a far wider contact patch than the AT3W (Toyo). This may mean that on-road that this tyre still has goods when it comes to braking stability and overall handling, let's see what happens in our test drive.
Ok, so our new tyres are on, going for the drive, we probably might have like a car with a little bit less cabin noise for our test but as we said this is the first look at the new Open Country AT3's, let's take it for a drive.
So simply wow, these new Toyo's are dead quiet. Its actually probably not a bad test vehicle to test the tyre noise as you can hear, you can't hear the tyres at all, so a super quiet All-Terrain. We are looking forward to seeing these on some 300's (LandCruisers) some (Ford) Rangers, to see what they can do but the handling of the tyres has been fantastic. Looking forward to using the new (Toyo Open Country) AT3 more.
