- Dr. Shannon Curry, a clinical psychologist hired by Johnny Depp's legal team in his defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard, explained during cross-examination why she came to the conclusion that Amber Heard suffers from two different personality disorders. Attorneys for Heard questioned Curry about her experience testifying as an expert in cases of domestic violence or intimate partner violence.

The psychologist speaks so clearly, with minimal "ums". And she just straight up answers everything while clearly explaining exactly what she needs to. I actually learned quite a bit just from hearing her speak. Very impressive.
I wonder how many of us immediately thought of a person in our lives when she was describing borderline personality disorder? I think three came to mind.
Only one is around, and getting a restraining order against your own brother is impossible. I was told to sue him for defamation, but I can't do that to my Dad. Maybe some day. Watching today made me think about how many people my own brother has lied about, started internet hate sites about - people like a very nice Pastor and the Mayor of our city! Then he talks about how the whole world owes him and what a victim he is.

This witness is an absolute star. What an intelligent, well spoken woman who knows her sht and is not falling for any of the sneaky lawyer tactics
🙃
She puts it straight right away and doesn't give in to her pressure.
very true but her hair is distracting
She's educated in talking with people with delusions and personality problems - and the lawyer surely have a person who's a problem, we all know who it is
The lawyer should book an appointment with her
Does this lawyer not realize that there's a difference between Bipolar disorder and Borderline Personality Disorder...
I don’t think they do.

That was a very strange tangent.
I wondered where she was going with that or if she even understood what she was saying 😂

She is a stupid menopause lawyer, of course she doesn't. The doctor does though!
The collective gasp in the courtroom at 13:53 after she did not allow the witness to explain her answer is absolute gold. How this lawyer still has her job is baffling to say the least.
Yeah what the hell was that??😂 i had to replay this part to check if i heard her right
Even Johnny and his lawyer were like wtf even shaking his head and laughing
Depp’s attorney should have objected when witness wanted to further elaborate and Heard’s attorney said no and shut the door.
Amber’s lawyer is technically right - if the psychologist wants to explain, Depp’s lawyers can ask her again in the redirect.
I basically took it as, “No, because I’m incompetent and/or don’t have a good, winnable case; so I have to resort to pathetic and deceitful tactics and your explanation will only make you look more credible” lol
the lawyer constantly saying "dinner" instead of "interview" speaks volume of how they are trying to portray a specific narrative. Even after Dr. Curry clarified that it was an interview with/over dinner and not a dinner itself...then a few moments later the attorney says "dinner" is astounding! These little details are so insanely sneaking. I hope the jury catches all these things too
The witness is Articulate, Educated and Calm. Unlike amber's lawyers who are obviously reaching into their bag of dirty tricks only to be schooled by the witness. Priceless!
It's all Heards lawyers they have to use.

“No, that’s not quite right”
“The way you phrased it is not quite right”
“That’s not correct”
This lady is a MVP, schooling a lawyer on psych issues
not only that but telling her straight up "I'm not an attorney, I don't understand those procedures" was like a beacon to the lawyers attempts to make her look stupid. all it did was prove the lawyer was trying to trip her up

As a fellow mental health clinician, I say we give Dr. Curry a standing ovation. Her cross-examination was a masterclass in dissecting manipulative language and reframing it in a more appropriate context to prevent misinterpretation by the jury. Not at any point did she seem to display verbiage typical of psychologists just looking to get paid.
“Can I explain that?” “NO” courtroom laughs… I hope JD wins this case so much. I hope he is able to heal from all this situation afterwards; at least it has brought to light the truth no matter what the ruling is.
No matter the outcome, the world knows Johnny won. That lawyer better have money lying around because nobody in their right mindset would hire her again, what a piece of work.

The lawyer is really trying to trip her up by using sneaky wording to fabricate an “ahha I caught you” moment. But there is nothing to catch. You can tell the witness clearly sees what the lawyer is trying to do with her insistent choice of words and fast paced delivery, but she is not falling for the cheap tactics and maintains her already shared truth. Of course this would be frustrated to deal with, but it’s quit comical how bad the lawyer is executing it!

that lady lawyer is a disaster. She's super aggressive and it just has the opposite effect - the jury likes Heard less and less. They seem like bullies.
She’s extremely intelligent amazing. Her response to questioning is impeccable. She answered every literal question carefully even catching when the attorney asked if she knew Depp prior to her being hired and seen his movies/thought he was a good actor. Anyone else might’ve said yes, but she corrected the question making it so nobody could take her words out of context, expressing she did not know Depp personally as the original question implied, rather knew of him. Her lawyers cross examination was nothing but silly and full of speculations. No facts. Dr. Curry was speaking nothing but facts the entire time following a series of clinical tests done by Heard and their findings. The fact that JD was guessing PD only shows that he was worried and researching a lot what could be wrong with Amber Heard during their relationship. Which is something that isn’t uncommon for someone to do when they are in a relationship with someone like Amber, especially when the other person is a victim.
Or anticipating a blood bath, meaning nothing vindictive was off the table when he pursued the divorce. That settlement was not a big enough price to pay.
@@pattycakesxo1758 perhaps women can learn to make their own way in this world (amber supposedly had her own monetary assets prior to marriage) instead of making men pay the price, especially in a case such as this. It's abit weird that you're proclaiming a victim didn't pay enough of a settlement to the aggressor. I personally do believe she's afflicted by PD - I don't know amber personally enough to gage exactly what, however her behaviour mirrors quite a few people that I've come across. Ambers main arguments were Johnny's alcoholism, mental illness and abuse - it seems as though ambers projecting her own issues onto Johnny and over sensationalising what happened BC she saw in Johnny what she hates about herself. I also firmly believe amber knew that Johnny was the perfect scapegoat, he already had a somewhat odd reputation in the public eye, and he'd be able to provide her with the lifestyle she wanted. Who taught her and raised her to be such a barbaric animal. With her settlement, she should've donated it to charity like she said (amber Heard isn't a charity case either so she can't keep it - and charity was the only reason she won the UK case. And probably doing a few up the skirt things aswell) amber saw that Johnny was generous, loving but also vulnerable - the perfect victim. he paid for her, her friends and family and it still wasn't enough. He tried his all to help and it wasn't good enough. You obviously don't have enough experience with vindictive females, or you are one yourself why you can't see the issue. Amber pooped on his bed and didn't even replace the sheets - $7million of a domestic violence victims hard earned wages to the abuser? Someone who abused him, mentally, emotionally, physically, spiritually. Someone who leeched essentially. Someone who would tear down their partner the way amber did, is so hateful and nasty. Breaking his nose. Severing his digit. Bringing out multiple exposé, which were all fabricated and concocted by amber. Someone who tried to ruin their career. Okay lady, it's like giving a child abuser children to punch up. Giving a leech money will only ensure their return, and amber became expectant of the lifestyle Johnny could give her (which she couldnt sustain on her own, BC she's not on that level) so she lied about charity to get her check. hearing heard's laywer ask questions is making my head spin. repeating the same questions again and again, with questions phrased in such long sentences and full of jargon that it is difficult to catch what exactly is she asking about.... major props to Dr Curry for being able to answer them in a articulate manner.
Brains and beauty. Heard’s lawyer is so hostile. Trying to intimidate the doctor. Anyone else hear the gasp when the layers wouldn’t allow her to explain herself
Yes.Also right after she says: "I read it for you if you have difficulty" how patronising! She tries to intimidate her

This woman is amazing. Solid, confident and clear minded. She didn’t miss a beat. I think “so we can stop talking about muffins” should go in a tee shirt.
I'd love to have that t-shirt 😍
This psychologist is very accurate. I love her the way she speak and explain the details..So brave and smart....💪💪💪
This is how I expect an expert to answer questions about their expertise. Kudos to this licensed psychologist, you did well.
I think the most interesting part of this was when Heard's lawyer was asked by the expert witness as to whether she could explain something and the answer was NO. Johnny's lawyers laughed but it's worth going back and looking at the people behind, all laughing, I'd be surprised if the Jury approved of that. It speaks volumes.
What point is this at?
@@AariannaGonzo minute 13:47 lol
@@andreautz5585 Its shocking isnt it .They ask questions then wont give the witnesses chance to reply .Not to mention objecting to their OWN question ! Correct 🤣
@@judepicton6252 so funny, that's my favourite moment so far, objecting to their own question 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@judepicton6252 that "hearsay!" had me cackling like a witch 😂
That lawyer is doing her very best to try to trip up this witness. Asking her all questions about legal proceedings that is not her expertise.
And she enda up tripping herself
When is Amber going to testify? Getting my popcorn ready lmao
Really have to give it up to these witnesses. They don't sit back and fall into the lawyer traps. The leading of answers. They're quite quick with it and are incredibly aware of what's going on.
I've said it before....the lawyers match the person they're defending. Jd team is calm, quiet, not snarky towards any witness so far. AH team is very loud, very nasty, cut witnesses off, not allowing them to explain, using the courts time as a way to lower their confidence.
Just like AH in those audios where she interrupts, yells over, and tries to embarass him in any way possible.
"Isn't it a remarkable coincidence that you diagnosed a person with borderline personality disorder as having borderline personality disorder?"
Good Lord.
At 13:50 , the WHOLE COURT was like,"WHATTT? Did she she just deny the witness an explanation so blatantly?!!". They literally all had the reaction I did. Hahahahah
Good grief her attorneys are under water thrashing around trying to grab onto something to stop drowning.
This psychologist is extremely intelligent and well put together. Well done 👍
I honestly can't believe this woman is an attorney. She can barely pronounce words in this trial. This witness did amazing, she definitely inspires me to continue with my education. ❤️❤️❤️
She's in V.A ...lol
She's the best lawyer Depp has!🤣
@@bmbirdsong That's Amber Heards Lawyer OP is talking about 😂
“So you had dinner at Mr. Depp’s house??”

i cant stop coming back to this woman, the witness is so well spoken
Just love the smirk the witness has when she knows what tricks are being played. Come on, she's a psychologist!
I was a juror three times, once for five weeks. the attitude of the lawyers are more important to the jurors than the lawyers could possibly know. To have a stinkin attitude could affect the results of the trial. Not saying it's right, just saying that is how it is.
*DINNER AND DRRRRINKS!!* Oh stop. Most formal dinners include wine and/or cocktails. I'm sure she wasn't wearing a lampshade on her head or anything.
This lawyer is grasping at straws! This witness is too smart for her!!
I love how she answers "that's not correct" or vice versa. You can't answer a lawyer with yes and no with all questions as it can be construed as something you're not trying to convey. She's very concise in answering this twit of a lawyer. All I'm seeing is her tactic is to try and trip her up in her answers to them use against her or in A.H. favor. And it's not working 😆
She's not actually asking questions. She's making statements to make it confusing. The attorney is a snake.
