This is the reason why I stopped deliveries.. no recognition, no respect, no consideration.. every delivery driver should stop deliveries..
The only reason why Uber allows this is they are stealing the tips and saying that customers remove the tip. I know this because was accused by my driver of removing his tip when I did not. I called Uber they said it was a mistake and they were going to pay my delivery driver. They are stilling your tips not customer.
Wow! That makes more sense than the customer doing it! I knew it sounded off because most people wouldn’t do that!
Customers still do this on their own. It’s not worth it when the company does it too.
It's not "tip baiting". It's TIP FRAUD.
Always screenshot the offer screen, and then screenshot address when you drop off. Send them a bill if they commit tip fraud.
I have received 4 or 5 offers this summer that are paying out 25 to 70 dollars only to be told that 3 other drivers have already been there for the same offer. Uber gives their boiler plate response of "we understand this can be frustrating " and offers 3 dollars compensation. What a load of horse shit!
I remember I did a catering order through Uber Eats and got tip baited by the customer. I accepted the order because it was $50 including tip for 15 items, they were lucky those food trays were able to all fit in my car and when I got to the office building I took those items in one by one to the customer. The customer was appreciative of me getting food to all her co-workers for their lunch party, but after a couple hours I noticed she withdrawn much of the tip. Instead of $50 offer accepted, I only got $11, so she took $39 back!!! That should not be allowed! Now I don't even do Uber Eats anymore because all the offers are trash, plus you have to worry about fraud customers luring you with big tips only to take it back afterwards.
There needs to be a class action lawsuit against them. This happened to me. I’ll never do Uber eats again in life. I’m not driving around for $1.50 free slave labor at my expense and then they wonder why drivers retaliate due to stuff like this happening to us forced to work for free.
This is absolute truth and yes I agree this needs to be brought out into the media and into social media and all over the world it happens every day and it's not fair to hard-working drivers

Mandate a minimum wage for the time spent delivering and watch how fast Uber ends the act of reducing or removing the tip.
Its like a punch in the gut.. it hurts a lot! I had this happen to me on instacart... I was so upset.. its so unexpected! The guy was smiling, and when I thanked him, and wished him a good evening.. He didnt respond to me, just looked away.. I know where he lives..I have a bag of cat duty for him... should arrive on his front porch at some random moment..
This happened to me last week. Long story short one address 2orders 1=9$ 2=10 19$ total reduced to 10. Was fast no issues, cannot report customer to uber because is not an option in the app.

Tip baiting is the worse. Once I had a double stack order suppose to pay $14 and it ended up getting $3. Both the customers removed their tip and I never knew why. Took only 30 mins to pick up from 2 different restaurants and then deliver them to 2 different houses. Never got the orders mixed up when dropping of the orders. Never had issues picking up either order. Tip baiting you messing with drivers lively-hood. But the fact I got 2 tip baiters on one offer is just another level of low. $3 for all that work. But Uber advertise we get 100% of tips. 100% my ass.

Uber paid me 7.9 miles on a 12 mile ride.
Requested fare review and they gave me 3$.
Rider had 1 stop the 7. 9 miles was stop to destination.
Not pickup to destination.
So pay attention.

Even if is shared with the public, nothing it's being done about it, I work for uber/lyft, and my tips and tolls are always taken at the end of the night when I cash out, don't see my tips or the tolls that costumers paid🤮 so I pay for the tolls always not the costumers, that's why I don't take trips to the airport due to tolls are being taken always from drivers.

In what world is it ok to reduce or remove the tip? Honestly, y'all who are doing food delivery should stop working until the apps fix the issue. The only thing Uber/DoorDash care about is revenue. Impact that and you will get their attention! You are a union if you realize it or not. Just coordinate a day and let the apps have it!

in the same vain, especially now with upfront pricing, if a customer changes the destination after getting into my car, I cancel the ride and asked them to leave! Riders think we are chauffeurs and MUST drive them wherever because the app allows them to change destination. It has happened multiple times that the customer changed locations and I had to drive too far only to realize the pay was unchanged or just a few dollars more. One time, a lady changed destination right when I arrived at pick up location; I waited until she was about to get in, confronted her and informed her the ride was cancelled!
Low pay and also one reason I stopped doing Uber Eats.

Had a delivery last night to deliver 75 wings a mile and a half and did not get at least $10 for delivery. If I get anything like that again with no $10 minimum, order gets cancelled after 10 minutes pay or no pay.

If when an offer is taken it is because it meets the conditions of making it, if they decide to give a tip, they should give it after that.

apps should pay the missing pay because the initial amount to deliver doesn't separately says just the tip amount. drivers are scammed to think is mostly base pay
I think uber eats is making it look like the customer has tip bated but in reality uber eats has to get the order to the customer so they are the cause of everything
You make every effort to pick up and deliver that package to the person and then you get paid with that.
For tip baiters, what kind of delivery community are you creating for yourself? What are the chances that the same driver gets assigned to you after you’ve baited them before? This is where a driver might tamper with your food-just enough to make you sick, but not enough to be life-threatening. Is that really what tip baiters want?

The tip should NOT EVER be included in the upfront fare PRIOR to delivery. You dont pay your server a tip until the meal is served and completed. 😊.

agreed. point was that any gig company using their algo pay scale to incorporate a tip into an upfront pay scale is wrong. Im a driver. And an advocate for drivers...its advocating this type of crap that customers can take away something and give nothing to the driver. ❤

you are correct, however, when it is incorporated into the upfront price that is agreed upon as a contract for services rendered prior to delivery, and then the contracted price is negated by the original party, it becomes an issue. the "tip" is already included in the algorithim as part of the original contracted agreement. Services were rendered in this video. Definately becoming a "fine line" issue.
