@@SophiaBryant-v8b thank you so much! What has helped me most a drummer is always focusing on remaining relaxed. Try to reduce tension at all times. If that means slowing things down, so be it, don't rush into a tempo you're not comfortable with!
@SophiaBryant-v8b get yourself some sticks and a practice pad and check out Vic Firth 40 essential rudiments page. Tons of free and helpful info on rudiments and fundamentals. Just take note that most of the tutorials are played in traditional grip
