Nice job. You're very relatable. When you were hand sewing on the sofa with your husband on your right and your sister on your left I was giggling. Your arm swinging high and wide and your husband obviously leaning away from you. The awareness that one might get punched in the face or a needle might poke your eye.

It is called a Capote, and it’s a very old style coat. They were popular with French trappers and traders, or coureurs de bois, who made them from Hudson Bay Company wool blankets, and later from other sources of wool blankets. They became very popular with Native Americans who frequently traded with the French. Nowadays, they are typically worn by reenactors. I made one for my husband, who is Native American.

I'm about to embark on the blanket coat initiation and am so thankful for your video for multiple reasons such as; making a sewing circle out of the pieces about to be sewn for good vibes, needing snacks, putting overly optimistic timeframes and the pressure to complete things as if I can warp space-time, demonstrating when to stop and being ok with it, picking that blanket! ( I know I would've walked away from big square checks), winging your own pattern, being a taller girl like me, adding lapels-brilliant(I'm totally doing that) and pockets. Now I'm stoked to sew!!! Thanks again.
