I was really surprised to learn that Andrea isn't real and is an AI created by Alex. I have never noticed this the countless times I have seen her online. Technology is amazing.
she 1000% can. Andrea can beat Alex in a game and the bots are almost always way weaker than the people because of the way the bots usually play "low" elo. Most bots play like significantly higher than their elo, then make mistakes far below their elo to "correct" it, and it's extremely easy to capitalise when they do that kind of thing. You'll see players beat bots hundreds of elo above them because of that kind of thing.
The bots are all hilariously overrated. I can consistently beat any bot 1600 or lower with a max win of 2000 as only an 1100 rapid player. Pretty sure there is no way I’d consistently beat 1600 players.
My problem with bots is the fact that the play amazing moves and then blunder 3 pieces. I've had games against the 1k rated bot where I push a pawn the entire length of the board and pick up 15+ points of material
@@djg2008 not quite literally - because bots are essentially not programmed, but neural networks, some basic bot trained on the moves of certain players (Or "all" good players at once). I think bot always plays what it "thinks" is the best move, but if the network is not optimized enough the moves will not always be the best. Old bots from the time before ANN (Artificial Neural Networks) played that way, by playing a couple of good moves, and then deliberately dumbed down, because the program prevents itself from seeing many moves in advance - according to chosen elo number
She is often seen as the lovely/annoying valley girl sidekick to Alex, but low key I feel she is one of the best content creators for the masses, because her thought processes are very easy to understand and relatable. This same effect applies to for instance Cramling. It is also likely the reason Gotham got so much traction, because Gotham also aims for that 1500-2000 audience in his explanations.
I love playing the kings indian. I learned it watching the Bobby Fischer vs the Chilean champion guy. I also want to be better with the London for when I'm playing as white but I don't think I execute it properly once I push the bishop. But hearing you think through every move definitely helps thank you!

They should make the bots a bit more realistic with openings and such... how hard can it it be? Chessmaster9000 already had personality traits on their bots. With e4 and e5 (for black) players playing e4 e5. And traits like overvaluing or undervaluing certain pieces. And attacking styles and positional styles, etc...
A great effort. I played Mittens and made it to 32 moves before I resigned. I generally suck at chess, and my elo is probably around 1300, but I played cautiously, with no intention to win... because I know I can't. Sometimes, reckless moves confuse bots, so I wonder if that's the key to beating Mittens: an unconventional and yet deadly line.
I kept a winning position up to 20 moves as an inconsistent playing 1400 using the Karo Khan Tal Variation as white. If you're playing theory against a bot, then you're doing pretty well. Stafford and certain risky Scandinavian gambit didn't work.
Normally I need to watch youtube videos at higher speeds to not get bored and distracted but this is just the perfect speed. Thank you Andrea-adhd-brain for vibing with me!

Mittens is cruel and it bullied the hell out me I beat most of the other cat AI I dont think I beat Catsperov but as a 655Elo player I saw Mittens had an Elo of 1 and thought okay thats another AI for me to beat and I got absolutely bodied by move 15 I was mated.
Forget the obvious troll 1 of Mittens, why do I always drunkenly think I can beat Pokimane (600) and lose in a dozen moves then beat Levi/Gotham bot? brb let's pull a W on Pokimane 👍
8:24 That's when I use the Earthquake Maneuver and knock the board off the table. In this case its the Electrical Maneuver, where the computer gets unplugged, and I go outside and sit on the tire swing.
Why didn't you consider placing your king in front of the black pawn? You would lose some of the barricade, but he loses the right-side pawn storm while also opening his king to your rooks as your king can remove the pawn. You have to remember the bot is counting pawns. The knight was dead regardless. Make the bot pay for it. What's funnier is that the rook's guard would be gone so the rook had to be guarded or lost. The guard was going to obviously be the rook taking your pawn. The ending trade should be a rook and 5 pawns for black vs. a rook and 4 pawns for yourself. Not great, but you were down a pawn most of the time anyway. Since you were only trying to get more moves, this made more sense. The whole logic of the video does not make sense as the bot is an approximation of your evaluation function and move analysis. Understand that the result did not change the record of the bot at all, and as such, it could not change its ranking at all.
I'm not even 500 rated, been learning from scratch for about 2 months, but I'm up to the 1200 bot. I don't get that. Are they just too rigid in how they're set up to play a certain way? The South African one tries to throw his Queen at you always, others play their own ways too. When does this end? I'm guessing the Hikaru one is fully dynamic and mostly Best Move CPU based?

I don't understand how my rating is between 550 and 850 depending what mode I play but I'll beat the bots up at 1600. I'm not good enough to beat a 1600 player.
Same here. I had practiced against bots up to 1200 so thought I should walk into 1000 elo... surprise when I find 500 elo players playing better than 1200 bots. The ratings are off.
I think the problem with the bots is that they don't make organic mistakes. I'm guessing they just try to have the bots reach a certain accuracy rating according to their elo. Most 1000 rated players will lose my making a series of small mistakes over time. Whereas a 1000 rated bot might play perfect chess then suddenly blunder their queen. Both will achieve an accuracy of 70%. In the eyes of the computer they are equal quality games.
