Funny fact, in the Polish version there are many easter eggs that have something to do with Poland. If you can remember that Troll that gave us that quest to bring him some paint so he could paint the coat of arms of Redania, if you stand next to him and just listen to what his singing (Redanian patriotic songs) there's one that closely resambles that of of Poland's Żurawiejka that comes from the Polish-Bolshevic war. In that song theres a line saying "Lances to war, Sabre in hand, chase the Bolshevik chase, chase, chase" well, in the game the Troll sings "Swords to hand, lancers to war, chase the Nilfagrdian, chase, chase, chase" Which was a cool little easter egg i found while playing the Witcher. :)
Remember Stone Hearts? A redanian officer near of the Borsodi's auction house sings-"GAUDE, MATER, REDANIA PROLE FECUNDA NOBILI! ...", that's an old polish anthem from 13th century (but with "POLONIA" nor Redania)
Redania reflected poland in real life, e.g. before ww2 Gdańsk or Danzig was a free city just as novigrad. The symbols of both nations are similar and during war in the books it was quoted: "who wants to die for novigrad" just as the English said during ww2 who wants to die for danzig
WitcherGeorge I love your honesty at the end of the video. You should take a day or two off. I know that on sundays you don't release a video, but imo it doesnt count haha.
It is a no brainer if you don't follow Roche and plan to overthrow Emhyr. However if you go with Roche and make Ciri an empress it makes more sense to kill both Radovid and Dijkstra so Ciri gets to become the ruler of a vast empire.
It holds many similiarities with Poland, like architecture, national anthem, emblem, corruption of nobles, but witch hunts were not that common in Poland in contrast to the rest of Europe
Redania = Poland Kaedwen = Russia Aedirn = todays Germany Temeria = mix of France and some other Slavic country maybe interwar Czechoslovakia Niflgaard = mix of Holy Roman Empire, ancient Roman Empire and Nazi Germany Kovir and Povis = Switzerland Novigrad = Free City of Danzig Skellige = Norse countries mixed with Ireland Toussaint = Occitania and Provence (southern France), with some Italian and Spanish elements. Geso (only in the books) = mix of Spain, Mexico, Wild West. Their capital is literally called Amarillo.
Is it just me or that Philipa in Witcher 3 is far better than Witcher 2's Philipa In 2 she clearly looks evil and brutal In 3 (without that thing on her eyes) she looks like a good woman.
Gotta be careful with this video. I've not seen the end game tail of killing Radovid yet. Always broken Dijkstra's leg. I've been holding it as a carrot for my fourth playthrough.
@L Durand Radovid's sister was supposed to be an empress of the north and dijkstra was supposed to be her advisor, but the developers of the game didn't finish that scenario.
Radania is most likely Poland, flag is polish, eagle is polish, Novigrad is based on a polish city, Gdansk, Radania looks super realistic to how Poland used to look like in Medieval times. As a pole I still see a lot medieval remains even in small towns in Poland
Some may say it best to side with Djikstra, but have those people played Witcher 1 & 2? Roche comes to your aid at Kaer Morhen, at best Djikstra gives you 5000, at worst he doesn’t give you shit
Huh stern is a good way of describing radovid, but hey redania sounds like it's might not function under a weak ruler so all the power to them (or none of it based on what you said but whatever).

this video is no more but a speculation, and not the best in it, "oh lol, they got horses, they must be horse breeders, and if they are doing it, lets make em the best, oh lol they got a lot of wheet fields, thats must mean they feed source for all of the north, and also they are best of course, oh lol Radovid V was damn lunatic and sadist, all their kings must be the same, obv lunacy = ruling with an iron fist coz everyone who slightly disagrees with the king gets executed in both". I came for the history of fictional country and got fed with a made-up bullshit. Thanks. p.s. for ignorant people, there is a difference between a fictional setting created by a genius, honed for 30 years, and an attempt of some dude to extend it a little made in 5 min.

You know your country is in good hands when your king has to cheat to win against himself at chess... Seriously, Radovid!!
🤣 It certainly is telling of something.
One True King!! Long Live Radovid V
He dies anyway. Who cares

😆😆😆😆😆😆
1:33 They are probably the most trampled fields in the world by a crazy witcher and his mare. Haha

They should have put Tretogor and the Nilfgaardian Capital into the game in my opinion.
That would've been awesome!
agreed
I think the Nilfgaardian capital would suit a Ciri Witcher game more
Nilfgard capital is across the whole continent... Tretogor should have been in the game though.
And Blaviken
My man, I was wondering when you were going to talk about the history of Redania. Interesting and great video as always.
Thank you!
WitcherGeorge I love your honesty at the end of the video. You should take a day or two off. I know that on sundays you don't release a video, but imo it doesnt count haha.
redania has some serious poland goin on
The best Northern kingdom. My canon choice is doing the Scoia'tael path, Iorveth's path and then have Dijkstra take over. Loved him in the books too.

@@sirol97 it is actually because emhyr betrayed the elves and nilfgaardians commit ethnic cleanisings.
2:56 Damn! That scene should've made it to the game
Yeah it should!
I've been waiting for this and i'm expecting Nilfgaard next, cheers mate.
Thanks man and will do!

Love you Witcher videos. Keep it up!!
Thank you man!
Nice filled some gapes in my knowledge about radania thx
Np man!
2:56 that, that hit too close to home
The nilfgard was basically Germany and temeria was poland and the rest of north was france, england and russia but mixed things
Nilfgaard is more like Barbarosa's Holy Roman empire rather than Germany
redania is more Poland than Temeria
2:52 ....yeah, imagine that....
@3:00 You just described America’s relationship with China.
You didn't mention that Radovid invades Kaedwen and supposedly anexes it to Redania.
I've mentioned it so many times before, I don't decide it was necessary today
I love redanian! Thank you so much!
Glad you like it!

Thank you man!
Is the chess piece that Radovid moves Pirincess Adda?
Could be!
Awesome video sir more please
Thanks man!
Long live Radovid! Greatest ruler in the witcher series.
His father, Visimir, was smarter and more gratefully leader. "Together we've build the greatest power on the North"_Dijkstra
Is it just me or that Philipa in Witcher 3 is far better than Witcher 2's Philipa
In 2 she clearly looks evil and brutal
In 3 (without that thing on her eyes) she looks like a good woman.
Anyone else think Radovid sounds like the narrator from How it’s Made?
I can't believe you didn't wish me an awesome decade!!!! And i thought we were friends -_-
Gotta be careful with this video. I've not seen the end game tail of killing Radovid yet. Always broken Dijkstra's leg. I've been holding it as a carrot for my fourth playthrough.
There are spoilers ish, no clips of what you mentioned, but I discuss it
Radovid the stern *spits* my arse, Radovid the witless I say.
Do one on radovid v
Good idea!
Trollolo likes this.
the best kingdom in the witcher universe.
@L Durand Radovid's sister was supposed to be an empress of the north and dijkstra was supposed to be her advisor, but the developers of the game didn't finish that scenario.
@L Durand it was leaked stuff, but it didn't make it.
@L Durand would like to see her in witcher 3 too
@L Durand anais is useless. triss gives a lot of dialouges in witcher 3 and her choice affects the whole north.
@L Durand and radovid has the whole conclave.
Papa George
Redanians are such chads
-I prefer Temeria, but that might be because I hate Radovid.
- We miss your streams :( I hope you have time for it soon.
I'll try, I've been very busy recently
I hope all is well.
We want zerkannia !
aha it'll come up!
Thanks Brother

Redania-Poland
Kaedwen-Germany/?
Aedirn-Austria
Temeria-France
Nilfgaard-Germany
Nilfgard is rather Germany HRE version
Nilfgaard is not Germany
More a mix of Rome and a monastic order like the Teutons
Teutons were Germans
Kaedwen is Russia
wouldnt Toussaint pretty definitively be France?
History of Nilfgaard?
Good idea!
The history of Nilfgaard -- the most interesting part of the continent.

It's so annoying haha
Duncan Wehrhahn imagine the disappointment when we couldn't kill phillipa or watch radovid execute the bitch.
Nah I actually like that. Geralt is the helper in the quest. Boring if he kills everyone and nobody kills anyone else. I didn't mind. Seemed canon.

My name is Redania 🙄
The one dislike so far is radovid
Michael C Why would Radovid dislike Redania?
TheDennys21 the video. Because his daddy died & the possibility of him not being king.

My man lol
omg english dub is bad >.
It adds to the fun of this quest aha
original voices are always(almost, in 99%) the best. Playing witcher in english and in polish my verdict is that polish dub is far far better
Leouch I would usually agree that the original is better, but for the witcher, I much prefer English
